LFW SS13: Day 3 – A Flash Of Colour, Blogger Love and A Balcony View

LFWDay3 LFW SS13: Day 3   A Flash Of Colour, Blogger Love and A Balcony View %tagSunday’s are always the hardest, two days of back-to-back shows and I am a little tired and all I want to do is snooze, but today I dragged my arse out of bed in the name of fashion. Today was a little quieter for me, it was mainly about catching up on work, supporting a fellow blogger, and then ending the day with a flurry of red carpet dresses from Alice Temperley.

First stop of the day and the reason for my early start was The Apartment for the Vodafone breakfast, it was really nice meeting the PR and marketing team, finding out about their new London Fashion Week app, fingers crossed they release it for next fashion week as it looked cool, and also talking about plans for the Mary Katrantzou partnership, which is still very much at the early conversation stage. If Richard Nicoll’s rechargeable bag is anything to go by it is going to be great.

SS13CharlieMay1 LFW SS13: Day 3   A Flash Of Colour, Blogger Love and A Balcony View %tagThen it was off to support Charlie May, an uber-stylish blogger in her first catwalk show. Last season Charlie did a presentation which I sadly missed but this was an intimate catwalk show like no other I had ever been too. The wine cellars of the Stafford Hotel venue was incredible, it was so adorable it only had three rows on one side and the runway could only fit one model down at a time, which was better for us as once down they played statues and it looked amazing.

My pictures aren’t amazing, but the collection was minimalist with incredible tailoring for such a young designer, and my highlight had to be the finale light caramel evening gown its leather bodice and wrap skirt was gorgeous. Oh, and I can’t forget the accessories, incredible Kat Maconie shoes and quirky retro sunglasses from Zan Zan – Charlie May is definitely a name for the future.

A quick stop back at The Apartment for food, you could tell it was Wagamamas day as the place was packed. A snack, a read of The Daily, and a peak on social media sites and I was back out the door to Temperely London.

It was great seeing a show straight on, literally we were above the photography pit and it was amazing seeing Alice Temperley’s spring/summer 2013 collection.

This collection I am sure will be hitting press promo tours very soon and of course will be seen shortly on the brand’s most famous un-official ambassador the Duchess of Cambridge.

Looking for my flash of colour from my look of the day? Well, I am going to own up, I totally forgot to take it. I don’t know what happened, but trust me it wasn’t black, it was actually bright orange.

Yesterday, on a glorious morning on Soho House’s roof terrace, the polar-opposite to today, the adorable and uber-talented Richard Nicoll announced a two-season partnership with mobile giants Vodafone.

The acclaimed British designer who has previously shown with support from Topshop will work with Vodafone across SS12 and AW12, and will give Vodafone customers access to his show via Vodafone VIP, as well as the chance to meet him backstage at London Fashion Week.

“I feel excited to be a part of the new wave of British designers that are injecting energy into London Fashion Week. I’m thrilled to partner with Vodafone and offer their customers an insight into our world. Fashion has a strong cultural influence in Britain so partnering with a brand as prevalent as Vodafone feels both natural and directional.” Richard Nicoll

The first event in the partnership will be for Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out kick-off event at Asprey on September 8, and Richard will also host a personal appearance at Vodafone’s flagship store in the West End, where he will be personalising limited edition products.

What I am most interested in though is the announcement that Nicoll’s will be working with the Vodafone innovation team to design an ‘on trend accessory that fuses technology and cutting edge design’, very cryptic!! The surprise accessory will be showcased in Nicoll’s autumn/winter 2012 runway show, so a little time to wait then.

The deal will also see Nicoll’s move away from the Topshop venue and to his own stand-alone location, which is said to be located on The Haymarket, and there is even talk that the show will feature over two floors, that will definitely make it a hot ticket.

Well Orange has its cinema offers, O2 has its priority tickets, but it seems like Vodafone are grabbing the fashion category; they already support London Fashion Week and London Fashion Weekend, they were involved with Jaeger’s LFW show last season, and now they have an acclaimed designer on their books.
