Video Loving: Temperley London’s Enchanted Summer

Temperley Summer Party 1

Every wondered what it was like inside Alice Temperley’s romantic, fairytale-filled world? Well this short film, shot by the designer’s brother Henry Temperley for Net-a-Porter does just that, by showing off her exquisite gowns as well as her stunning Somerset home in the lead up to her annual Enchanted Summer party.

Directed by Alice, the short film really is a gorgeous way to show off the designer’s limited edition Temperley London dresses, worn by some of the brand’s muses including Laura Bailey, Caroline Issa, and Jacquetta Wheeler, who are all wearing designs created exclusively for Net-a-Porter.

One of my favourite shows at London Fashion Week is always Temperley London, mainly because you are guaranteed plenty of gorgeous gowns to swoon over, and this video brings those exquisite pieces to life in such a beautiful, ethereal and fun way. I have to be honest I totally want to be on that guest list – that party looks fun.

But unlike other fashion films, this isn’t a campaign video, a behind-the-scenes of a fashion show, this is a moving-image boutique, as shoppers can click on the dresses or accessories they wish to buy and they will be added to their personal ’boutique’ all without interrupting the film. Net-a-Porter really do know how to get people shopping luxury fashion – but don’t blame me if you want everything you click on!!!

I love all the pieces from the folky floral embroidered skirts to the chiffon-appliquéd tulle gowns and the hot pink lace-paneled pleated crepe maxi dress, but for me it has to be all the wedding-worthy gowns that caught my eye, which isn’t a surprise given that the summer party had a White Magic theme.

Fitness Inspiration: Ballerina Misty Copeland

My dreams of becoming a ballerina died a long time ago, but I have always admire their beauty and grace, and after seeing this amazing ad staring American Ballet Theatre soloist Misty Copeland for Under Armour I can’t help but be inspired by her strength, as well as have major leg envy!!!

A number of my friends have been taking ballet fitness classes and after seeing this incredible ad I think I need to do the same as well as increase my squat repetition exercises.

If her incredible body and grace of movement wasn’t enough to inspire, her story certainly will – this girl didn’t start ballet until she was 13 years old, she was met with rejection and still pushed forward with her dreams. I love that the ad reads out lines from her rejection letters that she received as a teen.

“Dear Candidate. Thank you for your application to our ballet academy. Unfortunately you have not been accepted.

“You lack the right feet, Achilles tendons, turnout, torso length, and bust. You have the wrong body for ballet and, at 13, you are too old to be considered.”

I think Misty definitely had the last laugh there!!!

Anyone else wanting to give ballet a go after seeing this ad?

Video: Diane Kruger Shares Her Style Secrets

MyTheresa-Diane-kruger-

I don’t think it is a secret that Diane Kruger is one of my favourite style icons, whether it is red carpet or street style, she always seems to nail it, well the gorgeous actress has joined forces with online boutique MyTheresa to share her style secrets as well as her autumn/winter picks.

Diane is the 7th star of  MyTheresa.com women series, following the likes of Alexa Chung, Clémence Poésy, and Atlanta De Cadenet, and the stylish star chats about why she likes to hit the red carpet without the help of a stylist, apparently she started picking her own clothes as she “didn’t want to look like everybody else”, her love of make-up, her friendship with Karl Lagerfeld and why you won’t see her joining Twitter.

The actress also gives clues on to how to dress a la Kruger – it is all about forgetting men!

“I think most women dress for other women,” she explains in the video. “It’s easy to please a man, the shorter the skirt and the sexier the dress, they will most likely approve of your outfit.”

Check out the actresses full shoot with MyTheresa – it is basically everything you need to emulate her style. I think first on my wishlist has to be that Valentino embroidered cape and monochrome Stella McCartney jumper dress – tres chic!!!

AW14 Campaign: The Givenchy Rave

AW14-Givenchy

Ever wondered what a Riccardo Tisci private party would looked liked? Well according to Givenchy’s autumn/winter 2014 ad campaign it includes a select guest list, gorgeous models, lots of dancing, half-naked men, music from the Martinez Brothers and most importantly a strict Givenchy AW14 dress code. It really does sounds like my sort of rave.

Starring models Julia Noblis, Mariacara Boscono, Jamie Bochert, Peter Brant Jr. and Kendall Jenner the campaign was shot by photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The print campaign is great – the most photogenic group of friends on a night out, but for me the AW14 campaign is really brought to life with the short film showing the models dancing – it really does show off the sheer, printed dresses and skirts off to perfection.

Come on hand’s up who wants to be invited to the next Givenchy private party?
