Interiors: Fearne Cotton Home For Very

On Wednesday I popped by Home House to check out Fearne Cotton’s debut interiors collection. I know I don’t feature much on the interior side on this blog but I loved so many pieces from her collection that I just had to share.

The 28-piece collection features cushions, cabinets, rugs and even a four-poster bed, all inspired by Fearne’s eclectic style, think vintage, floral and oriental prints, bright pinks, and her love of cats, as well as her Nan’s house, and like her clothing collection I expect it is going to be a huge success.

The highlight of the collection for me had to be the quirky lamps from the Cat Lamp, modelled on her adopted cat Rudy, to the to the Vintage Floor Lamp, I just love its granny-chic vibe with its floral print and fringing. I also loved the Chinese-inspired bedside cabinets and chests, the decorative Parisian-style Mirror, and the exquisite Melrose Blossom Chair, now if only I had somewhere to put it!!!

If you are after a statement piece to jazz up a tired room this collection really does have some great pieces, prices range from £18 to £899.

So what do you think – any pieces stand-out for you?

Shopping: Glamour Team Up With Very

A couple of weeks ago, before fashion week madness kicked in, before I got ill, and before my Mum came to visit I was invited to a Google+ hangout with the Glamour editorial team to discuss their first designer collection with Very.co.uk.

If you haven’t seen the collection, check it out below – 13 great pieces that are basically a Glamour girls capsule wardrobe – a cute little black dress, one of my favourite pieces, a versatile white shirt, which you may recognise from my fashion week outfits, as well as a casual great sweatshirt, a jewelled collar, and a fun pink tutu – and best of all the most expensive piece is only £59!!!

One of my favourite pieces has to be the Broderie Trim Shirt – at only £35 this piece can be paired with a simple skate skirt or worn under a jumper – it has a great shape and cute details that I loved wearing it over fashion week.

Christmas 2011: Festive Shoot With Very.co.uk

It feels like a lifetime ago, but actually it was only a few weeks, I went on  my first photoshoot as Fashionista Barbie to model Very.co.uk’s Christmas collection. It was a fab day where I was treated to picking out an outfit, a mini makeover, and then a fun photoshoot. I love that the Very team put together this cute lookbook of my best snaps.

I decided to go head-to-toe in Fearne Cotton, I have to admit it wasn’t intentionally I just really liked her collection. I completely adore this gorgeous Fearne Cotton maxi dress, I just love the ‘mullet’ gold sequinned hemline and the dramatic silhouette it created. I teamed it with these Fearne Cotton Indiana Lace-up Ankle Boots, mainly because they made my feet look tiny and I felt that this dress needed edgy footwear.

I was one of the first to get snapped, I think it was more nerves I just wanted to go first and then I was able to enjoy seeing everyone else getting ready. I adore what Laura from That’s So Yesterday wore – this dotty number is super cute, and it was so lovely to meet Claire from Rainbows & Fairydust, who after seeing her in those fab jeans has made me want a pair. It was also nice to catch up with Lois, AbiKristabel and Suzi.

The whole day was such a great idea, it was lovely of the Very team to invite me as one of their Christmas bloggers and I love my pictures. I also got to eat the biggest cake from Patisserie Valerie!!!!

AW11 Press Day: Very.co.uk

A while back I went by Very’s fashion street to check out its autumn/winter 2011 collections and I liked what I saw. First up, I have to give them credit for an amazing set up, I love the Banksy stickers on the walls, the street sign, the lights, park bench and the oversized chess pieces, a lot of thought went into this press day and I loved it.

My partner-in-crime Alex was also with me and I just couldn’t resist this picture, at the heart of Very City!!!

What surprised me most about this collection had to be the shoes, if you haven’t check out Very.co.uk when it comes to footwear then you should as for autumn/winter they have some gorgeous pieces. I love these boots with their chunky laces and shearling detailing, they will certainly keep you warm, also the hiking boot-style doesn’t seem to be going away for winter.

They also have a great selection of killer heels, I adore these raspberry laced peep-toe wedges, oh if only I could walk in them!!

As always the Fearne Cotton collection was impressive and I think her best yet. Of course once again it is based primarily on her wardrobe and what she would wear, but come on with style like hers I don’t blame her. I was particularly drawn to this checked cape, I love the orange as well as the lace collar detailing, and worn over skinny jeans and chunky boots this will look amazing.

My other favourite piece was this shift dress with its buckle detailing to the shoulders and its blue check skirt.

Very’s newest designer collaborator Diana Vickers line was also on display, and I love the Miu Miu-inspired lilac v-neck shift with flower appliques to the pockets.

Dots sticking around for autumn/winter in a big way.

I was quite taken with the blouses and the prints, I love this mustard shirt looks great styled with skinny flares, as well as this bird print teamed with country-chic pieces.
