So is anyone tiring of designer collaborations yet? I think I am a little over the lower-end brands teaming up with designers and hiking up their prices just for the name, though I do love them when they expose emerging designers to the masses, and I also can’t help adding them to my wardrobe when they are as reasonably priced as Uniqlo collaborations always seem to be. So to answer my own question, I am still a little on the fence.
I am a huge fan of Lulu Guinness, I have many of her handbags, purses, and card holders, and that is mainly because she brings such humour and fun to her designs, when you add that to Uniqlo’s incredible UT collection of T-shirts and sweatshirts you know that you are on to a winner.
This is her third hook up with the brand **I think** , but I am going to go out on a limb and say this is her first with sweatshirts, and if it isn’t I totally missed that and I have four of her T-shirts from the previous collections. There is always a kitsch vibe to Lulu Guinness’ collections but I love that this isn’t all about the lips, don’t worry they are still there, but covers everything from 50s Americana to painted nails, lipstick and even a cute updated doll face that I totally need.
The heavy focus on beauty kind of made me think that Lulu could be wanting to give Paul & Joe a run for their money for the cutest beauty packaging, ooh wouldn’t that just be so amazing. Sorry I have totally gone off topic – back to the shopping!!!
It is hard to say which is my favourite, at £19.90 a piece that are all pretty good value for money, but I do love that blue sweater with the hands wrapped around it, as well as the Lulu meets Miami car, and the wine coloured sleeves of the doll face fluttering eyes just looks so cosy, I think that might need to be my travelling to New York sweater!!!
