My Style: When JD Met Tommy

My-style-amazon-dress-4

I spend a lot of my time in jeans, from skinny to boyfriend and even the odd flared cut, in dark blue, light blue, red floral print, grey, and even a stripy pair, I just love them, but this summer I have really been embracing the good weather **where the hell has it gone** and trying to wear more summery, girlie looks.

Last week, when the sun was shining, I wore this Tommy Hilfiger beauty that I found on Amazon’s dress store, yep that place where you buy books, blu-rays, and the occasional Barbie, **I call it the online shop for the three B’s**, has opened The Dress Shop, which has thousands of dresses from brands including Cacharel, French Connection, BCBG, Great Plains, Yumi and Hoss Intropia.

It was hard to just choose one out of thousands, but it was easy to find this short-sleeved blue and white checked dress using Amazon’s easy-to-navigate search for the ‘Occasion’ with dresses for work, evening, special occasion, and casual, which is so perfect for summer dresses. You can also ‘Shop by Trend’ choosing from lace, fit & flare, colour pop, pastels, or just white, basically they have a dress for everyone and for all occasions.

What I love about this dress is that it can be dressed down with gladiator flats and a matching skinny belt, or with fancy black heels and a statement necklace, it really is a versatile piece for my wardrobe that will definitely be perfect come winter time as well.

I actually wore this for a day lounging in the park reading magazines and listening to music, which was the perfect opportunity to try out my new bright blue Monster N-Tunes headphones. I love the on-ear style, especially these ones as they are lightweight as well as being super comfortable with the padded cushions. I also loved that they come with tangle-free cables, you probably don’t believe me but trust me they really work, it is one of my pet-hates having to untangle my headphones for 10 minutes before being able to use them.

I also got to take out my new Moschino case out for my Samsung S5, this case is a limited edition style and features a peace pattern, and I love that it has a handy card pocket on the inside so you just need to take your mobile out with you on a night out. The only thing I need to get use to is the flip style, it makes it a little uncomfortable while on the phone. The best bit though is when you close the case it also turns the screen on and off, so saving battery, which is always needed with me!!!

Want to see how jealous JD got of Tommy scroll down to the bottom for a great photobombing gif!

So what do you think of my Tommy Hilfiger dress and new gadgets?

Tommy Hilfiger BHI Campaign: Drew Barrymore Snaps Charlotte Gainsbourg

It seems that Hollywood actress, screenwriter, producer, and director Drew Barrymore has added another a bow to her string – photography, not content with just snapping up-and-coming actresses for V magazine this summer, the heavily pregnant star has captured her first brand campaign for the Tommy Hilfiger Breast Health International initiative.

With Breast Cancer Awareness month kicking off on Monday, preppy American fashion label has launched its sixth limited-edition bag in support of Breast Health International, a leading non-profit foundation that advances breast cancer research and treatment.

The gorgeous Anglo-French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg models the limited-edition arm candy, which comes in a navy mottled leather and features white accents and red handles, perfectly and it looks like Drew was happy with the shot.

The limited-edition bag, which sadly sold out online in 24 hours, hits select Tommy Hilfiger stores in Europe on October 1 and will be priced at £255, from which a generous £100 from each sale goes to the Fund for Living, a global BHI initiative that provides help to women with breast cancer and their families.

No only is the campaign stunning, Charlotte Gainsbourg is perfection in this image, a total natural beauty, but this bag is gorgeous, also when do you ever see a charity item give so much of the retail price away – £100 for each bag is pretty amazing.

If you love the campaign and initiative also check out the behind-the-scenes footage, if for nothing else than to listen to Charlotte’s soothing voice, which I just love.

What do you think of Drew’s photography?

Met Gala 2012: Kristen Bell A Vision In Orange

Who: Actress Kristen Bell

Where: At the 2012 Met Gala in New York

Wearing: An orange crinkle silk chiffon Tommy Hiliger gown with a halter criss-cross neckline and waist ruching, teamed with a gold Judith Leiber clutch and Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery

Verdict: There is something simple and elegant about this look in its silhouette that is made modern with the use of orange that I just adore. Firstly, Kristen Bell really is gorgeous, and this orange hue teamed with gold accessories really works against her skintone and blonde locks, which looks amazing swept to the side.

This isn’t one of my top looks, but close, what do you think are you loving Kristen’s look?

Video Loving: Tommy Hilfiger Festive House Par-tay

Yeah, the eclectic fictional family, The Hilfigers are back!!!!

In true Tommy Hilifiger holiday/festive spirit there is only way to celebrate and that is to ‘par-tay’. Boy does this American label know how to party.  As well as the half-naked hunks, which is dam good viewing, seriously how cute are those basset hounds – LOVE.

I also adore all the styling by Karl Templer – full of plaid pjs, festive jumpers and Pops even has a smoking jacket on. I think I might need to do a preppy Christmas style challenge for December 25!!

I think someone definitely spiked the egg nog – as I don’t remember my last family Christmas ending up with me being rolled up in a rug – how about you??

There is one last thing to mention though – so Mr Hilifer what happened to my invite? Did it get lost in the post!!!

FNO London: Tommy Hilfiger Family Portrait

I did a length blog on how much fun I had on Fashion’s Night Out and this family portrait with the girls Kate, Carina and Alex taken by the fabulous Jackie Dixon really does sum up what an amazing night it was!!!

I love Kate’s pose, Alex’s ball skills, Carina’s infectious laughing, and finally how cute my hat was!!

Thanks Jackie Dixon for our family snap.

In Pictures: FNO 2011 In London

I am not sure why I didn’t partake in Fashion’s Night Out last year, but wow was it my loss!!! This year I tagged along with blogger friends Alex Loves, Carina 100 and Kate from The Fabric of my Life, and we had a very ambitious schedule, here are the highlights of our FNO adventure.

First Stop – Seven Dials

It was always going to be a hard decision where to start when there is so much going on, but we decided on Seven Dials, and it was nice to see the lovely Kirsty from Three Pipe, who gave us all the most adorable goodie bag and guide to goings-on for the area. There was lots going on and we checked out Tatty Devine, lots of owl jewellery that I am in love with, and then popped across the street to celebrate Poste Mistress’ 10th birthday.

Loved the tea-cup cocktails and cupcakes.

They also did a scratch card competition to win a free pair of shoes, sadly I didn’t win and I would have loved picking a pair out as they have an amazing selection.

Liberty London – flower power

The sweetest treat of the night had to be this flower corsage from the Wild at Heart florists in Liberty’s, I loved mine and tied it to my bag when it started to droop. It is now looking a little sad on my desk this morning.

The London department store had the right idea getting the cocktails flowing early with the Mahiki Coconut bar. The lovely Alex and Kate enjoyed their pineapple surprise, while we all got into the Hawaiian spirit.

Reiss – best window

On our way to Tommy Hilfiger we passed by Reiss and I was mesmerised by their quirky window display filled with gold balloons and just a peek of clothing. More to celebrate their 40th birthday, but hey it looks good.

Tommy Hilfiger – the family portrait

One of the most fun events of the night had to be our dress-up fun in Tommy Hilfiger and then being snapped by the amazing Jackie Dixon from ShowMeYourWardrobe.com. I haven’t seen the final snap, I have refreshed their Facebook page a number of times this morning, but I can’t wait to see how well our sporty shot came off, I just love Alex the jock!!

Thomas Lyte – fashion flattery

My favourite bit of the night was thanks to the lovely girlies at Thomas Lyte as I got the opportunity to have a fashion illustration done of myself. The uber-talented Sasha Helim sketched such a beauty of me, super flattering and very cute and I am getting it framed at the weekend I love it that much. What do you think?

We also got to enjoy the most delicious mini cupcakes, which also constituted as my dinner!!!

DKNY – where the party was at!!!

Bond Street was definitely where the party was at for Fashion’s Night Out, and in a way I am glad it was our last stop of the night to be honest as I don’t think I would have stuck out the whole night if I had to deal with these crowds. Of course we couldn’t go to Bond Street and not stop in on our Twitter pal @DKNY, who was obviously in New York getting reading for the NYFW shows, but she was their in the London store via a huge Twitter screen, which made me very happy when my tweet was RTed.

I kind of fell in love with the balloons and was still pouting on the way home that I couldn’t have one!!

Can someone please buy me one of these cool signs? I am not fussy Cocktail or I ♥ NY, or both if you are feeling very generous!!!

From DKNY we were going to hit Alexander McQueen to play the key game, but was greeted by this huge queue, so we decided against it and instead just took in the party atmosphere of the street.

The window at Alexander McQueen was enough of a reason to stop by, simply gorgeous.

Tod’s went for a row of red Fiat’s outside their shop to ferry guests to the after party.

Barbie may have been in NY doing her bus-tour FNO but I found two Ken’s in the window of Daks London, quite surreal seeing live models, who might I add didn’t seem that pleased at me taking their piccie.

Dolce & Gabbana was closed when we got there but check out the window – I spy Beyonce’s dress from the cover of American InStyle.

Dior taking on DKNY in the battle of the taxis black cab vs yellow cab, love the addition of the double yellow line.

One of the most interesting sights was this Bangle Bowling outside Hermes, I have to admit I don’t have a clue what it was, looks like a horse box to me and an inside shot didn’t help me either. Did anyone have a go?

Street Style – snap of the night

I saw a lot of very interesting outfits, way too many leather shorts, super high heels, and even a model rushing through the crowd in a couture gown, but my favourite and possibly weirdest shot has to be this man walking through Seven Dials wearing a metal frame hat. As soon as I saw it I just had to take a snap. Strange or what??

Sad I didn’t get to

There was no Rupert Sanderson roller disco for me, no Stella McCartney badges, and no Net-a-Porter visit. But seriously there was so much to do, so many people around, I can’t believe how much we actually did – such an amazing night.

Did you do FNO? Do let me know what your best moment of the night was – especially if you were somewhere other than London.
