Each year I have mixed feelings about the BAFTAs red carpet, the awards are our Oscars but they don’t ever feel in the same league, they never really bring all the big stars, the fashion is generally more bad than good or just too safe to care, and I never understand why they don’t make the red carpet more organised, watching it makes me so frustrated there is never a full length shot, there are heads in the way, and it always looks so crowded.
Saying all that I did like a number of the gowns tonight, mainly thanks to Julianne Moore, who all award season has killed it, I loved her shimmery Givenchy beauty at the Golden Globes and her green sequinned Givenchy wonder at the SAG Award, and now this incredibly sexy red Tom Ford gown.
Who: Jennifer Lawrence
Where: At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014 in West Hollywood, California
Wearing: A mirrored embellished Tom Ford mini dress with sheer panelling to the side and long sleeves from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with strappy black heels
Verdict: I liked Jennifer Lawrence’s strapless red Christian Dior Couture gown that she wore to the main event, the peplum was nice, but I think I am done with her Dior overload, so it was refreshing to see that the actress embraced her sexy side in this shimmering Tom Ford mini dress for the after party.
There is a lot about this look that I love – from the heavily embellished shattered mirror effect to the fact that she is actually showing off her amazing pins to the sexy sheer panel down the sides. At the Oscars she looked elegant and at the Vanity Fair party she looks youthful and it was nice to see.
I also think I prefer this heavy kohl party eye make-up on her, it really works with her edgy pixie cut and is perfection with this sexy mini.

Where: At the Golden Globe Awards 2013, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California
Wearing: A draped back black and white silk georgette Tom Ford gown with long sleeves, teamed with a black nappa panama weave clutch with gold metal band and Bulgari jewels
Verdict: Julianne Moore looked incredible in this custom Tom Ford gown, which she emailed the designer to ask if her would design her look, and not only is it working the monochrome trend but it was also perfect for her to brave the Californian chill.
This Tom Ford gown didn’t make as much of an impact as his other red carpet triumphs such as Anne Hathaway‘s and Gwyneth Paltrow‘s, but it totally works for Julianne’s style and I love how the white panels have a slimming and lengthening effect, not that she needs it.
Finishing her look are the most incredible and bold Bulgari 22-carat diamond and yellow gold earrings. Now they are statement earrings!!!
