Award Season: The Outnet Goes To Hollywood

With the SAG Awards coming at the weekend I am getting back into Award Season prep, after the lull that followed the Golden Globes, and I thought I would share the amazing video series that The Outnet have put together with a few Hollywood insiders.

The series has been running all month and so far they have spoken to Emma Watson’s stylist Anita Patrickson, who talked about the star being a “stylist’s dream” as well as being able to “pull off everything from classic and vintage to really edgy”, stylist Jessica Paster talks clutch bags and her favourite Oscar moments, and currently on The Outnet is an interview with actress Rebecca Romijn.

Take a look at Emma Watson’s red carpet moments, what to put inside your clutch, and do you agree with Jessica’s top 5 Oscar looks?

Looking to add a bit of red carpet glamour to your wardrobe? Well head on over to The Outnet and check out the 60% off sale on Temperley London and Stella McCartney clothes and accessories.

My Style: What I Wore To My Friend’s Wedding

WeddingStyle My Style: What I Wore To My Friends Wedding %tag

Last weekend, before the weather turned on us, I was enjoying the sun down in Sussex for my friend’s wedding. It was a small but sophisticated affair at the gorgeous Marco Pierre White venue Kings Barns, and the day was just so much fun-filled with lots of Pims, laughter with friends, delicious food especially the strawberry Pavlova, a little bit of crazy dancing, adorable bunting, and most importantly a stunning bride and handsome groom.

This was my second wedding of the summer, I still have another two to go before the year is up, but this is the one I have been most excited about as both Jim and Sarah are close friends. I don’t think I have been to such a fun and relaxed wedding before, I adored Sarah’s striking dress she really did look gorgeous and I admired Jim for wearing his dress uniform, it was scorching and that uniform looked warm, but he did look incredible.

I had been panicking slightly about what to wear as I knew it was going to be such a great day, when I saw this gorgeous nude pink dress in Warehouse I was blown away, I completely fell in love with its Art Deco-inspired sequin embellished neck line. I have to be honest I was a little worried about going for such a light colour, I am normally in the colour scheme closer to black, but as soon as I tried it on and twirled in the chiffon full skirt it just felt right.

With the statement detailing on the front I didn’t go crazy on my accessories, opting for platform strappy Calvin Klein Collection shoes, which were the most comfortable shoe ever and a bargain from The Outnet clearance sale, as well as an Art Dec-style clutch from Warehouse, a couple of my favourite charm and diamond bracelets, well it wouldn’t be right without some arm candy, and finishing off my look were my new specs from Specsavers.

I always worry about having to wear glasses at weddings and parties, I could wear contacts but touching my own eyes creeps me out, but these Karen Millen beauties are perfect when dressing up. I love the matt finish to frames, I find shiny a little too much at times, and these are the lightest glasses I own so it really didn’t feel like I was even wearing glasses.

I didn’t want to go too crazy in sharing pictures from the day, but here are a few of my favourites: First up we have Paulie and I with Mr and Mrs Priestley, I blame the heat for Paulie taking off his tie and jacket as he really did looked dapper. Below is a close up of Jim’s medal bling; the happy couple I just adore Sarah’s wedding dress; and the last photo is Paulie with our close friends Olly, Marcus, Jim, Pete and Mat.WeddingJim My Style: What I Wore To My Friends Wedding %tagWeddingJimSarah My Style: What I Wore To My Friends Wedding %tagWeddingTheBoys My Style: What I Wore To My Friends Wedding %tag

Sad to say, but this is my third and final blog post from my fab time at The Outnet Summer Style session, but I am leaving you all on a high with my favourite of the three looks – eveningwear.

Daytime I went for bright orange, festival was all about the accessories, which continued in this eveningwear style featuring the most gorgeous of gowns by Felder Felder that fitted like a dream and made me feel incredible. I just loved the rock-chic spin with the studded embellishments – seriously gorgeous gown I just hope I did it justice!!!

The Outnet Summer Style: How I Took Victoria Beckham & Rebecca Minkoff To A Festival

OutnetAbi8 The Outnet Summer Style: How I Took Victoria Beckham & Rebecca Minkoff To A Festival %tag

Yesterday I blogged the first of my three looks at The Outnet Summer Style session, well from daytime lunching we went to chic festival fashion, no muddy fields, no Wellington boots, just VIP all the way with tea cups, well that was the brief and I went all out on the right accessories for the job.

Like Olivia Palermo who wore a navy blue and black colour scheme to Christian Dior this week, I also like the combination of the two colours – so I paired a gorgeous, slightly too big for me, black A.L.C. washed-silk wrap-around maxi skirt with a sports-luxe mesh-sleeved jersey Marni top, but for me this look was all about my accessories.OutnetSummerStyle10 The Outnet Summer Style: How I Took Victoria Beckham & Rebecca Minkoff To A Festival %tagOutnetSummerStyle7 The Outnet Summer Style: How I Took Victoria Beckham & Rebecca Minkoff To A Festival %tag

Top of my list of accessories needs were sunglasses, you can’t go to a festival without them and I picked out the most gorgeous pair of Victoria Beckham shades, they had everything I wanted from the retro cat-eye style to the detachable chain – well I don’t want to lose them while dancing now do I!!!

I paired these beauties with one of my favourite clutches from New York designer Rebecca Minkoff, I just thought that my navy/black combination could do with a pop of colour and what better than leopard print, granted you can’t fit a lot in there for a festival but remember I was going to an imaginary VIP festival, and I just had to include Rebecca Minkoff as she is one of my favourite designers.

Finishing off my look were some touches of jewellery, I love the bright pink and blue Dannijo jewels, they worked perfectly with my three silver Philippe Audibert bracelets, and my Pamela Love ring. Plus my only sensible thing were my flat shoes, I really liked the bright blue flash from the Pour la Victoire’s ‘Edilia’ leather sandals.

Ella from Coco’s Tea Party looked adorable in her printed Thakoon top paired with her leather See by Chloé – if I had her figure and legs I would also have worked tiny shorts. I also loved Kate from I Am Not A Celebrity in neon pink and that gorgeous Pamela Love harness-style necklace.

Next up will be my eveningwear look, which is my favourite of the three, and you will also spot the Victoria Beckham shades and Rebecca Minkoff clutch making another cameo, I loved them so much I had to include them again.

So what do you think of my chic festival look? I really liked the semi-sheer maxi skirt, would have loved more if it had fitted me – I had to be bulldog clipped in so it didn’t fall down, but I do like the combination of the sporty tee with the more dressy maxi – but for me this look is all about the accessories.

Don’t forget that all the blogger looks are on sale at The Outnet.

The Outnet Summer Style: All About The Marni Bag

OutnetAbi21 The Outnet Summer Style: All About The Marni Bag %tag

When my good friend, blogger and photographer extraordinaire Abi Marvel told me to keep July 4th free for something fun, I have to be honest I didn’t even question it, because as Abi was organising it I was totally in. Well, Abi certainly pulled out all the stops by teaming up with designer discount fashion retailer, The Outnet for an afternoon of basically playing dress up, and it was so much fun.

The first of my three looks, and part one of my The Outnet Summer Style series, was all about chic dressing for lunch with my blogger pals – Alex, Naomi, Ella, Kate, Monica, and of course Abi. I originally picked out a gorgeous Barbie pink Thakoon dress, it was gorgeous, it just didn’t look amazing on me, so for my first look I actually stole something off Alex’s rail, well she did seem to pick out the whole shop.

As soon as I saw this striking pleated crepe Tube Gallery dress I was in love, everything from the bright orange colour to the bead-embellished straps, this dress was perfect for me. I finished my look with metallic cut-out Jil Sander heels and this divine, will fit everything, while still looking chic Marni bag, I loved it so much I had to include it in the group shot. I just really liked the size and I just thought that the woven leather bag was a great match with the cut-out heels. Now if only I had £500+ to buy it!!!OutnetAbi19 The Outnet Summer Style: All About The Marni Bag %tag

I really loved all the other girls outfits, Kate from I Am Not A Celebrity looked amazing in DvF, Ella from Coco’s Tea Party was stunning in Versus, I fell in love with Naomi from The Fash Pack’s neon Christopher Kane, Alex from Alex Loves wore the Felder Felder mini dress that I have been stalking for a while, and Monica from The Elgin Avenue carried the Rebecca Minkoff clutch that I currently have sat in my wish-list.

My two other looks, coming soon, are festival fashion with a twist, think more chic than mud-ready, as well as my favourite the evening wear look where I got to dress up in a gorgeous Felder Felder gown.

What do you think of my daytime look – do you like the combination of the orange Tube Gallery dress with nude Jil Sander heels and that Marni bag that totally made me swoon?
