Last week I was invited to international footwear brand ALDO’s autumn/winter 2011 campaign launch at the fabulous One Marylebone in London. The party was to launch their new campaign ‘Get Lucky’ shot by Terry Richardson and fronted by the gorgeous Lily Donaldson, who was completely stunning in real life.
ALDO has always been on my radar as they do a great selection of boots, but what was nice about this event was finding out more about the brand, Mr ALDO was even in the house, as well as finding out about their designer capsule collaborations, the ALDO Rise initiative, which sees the brand hooking up with up-and-coming design talent.
The event was hosted by ALDO Creative Director Douglas Bensadoun, what a cutie, seen here with the gorgeous Lily, who introduced us to the brand’s new developments for AW11 as well as SS12, which included details of the retailers new Oxford Street flagship store, their intentions to launch a London-based design studio over the summer, as well as the amazing news that British-based fashion designers Mark Fast, J.W. Anderson and Preen are teaming up with ALDO for SS12, I seriously can’t wait to see Mark Fast’s capsule collection.
I was quite taken with the AW11 Rise capsule collection by Christian Cota, the boots were amazing, and I choose the black knee-high ones as my ‘Get Lucky’ free gift, so can’t wait to wear them!!!
There were also a lot of celebs in attendance, including the gorgeous Louise Roe, loving her orange top, nails and bling ring!!! As well as Alexis Jordan, Jameela Jamil, Caroline Flack, Henry Holland, Rita Ora, Jade Parfitt, Jasmine Guniness, and Sunday Girl, seriously cool crowd!!
As well as the exciting news, the striking Lily and celeb pals, ALDO also showed off its new collections, lots of sparkly, very high, and all extremely glamorous. My favs were these purple sparkly wedge heels that all the Surgery PR girls were working, very seventies diva, LOVE!
It was also nice to catch up with fellow bloggers Carina100 and Really Ree. Such a great event, gorgeous campaign, and so can’t wait for the autumn/winter collection to hit the stores.
