A Pop Of Colour For A Wedding

A Pop Of Colour For A Wedding

So how many weddings do you have on your calendar for this year? At last count we had four, last year might have been all about our wedding, but this year is most certainly all about celebrating our friend’s big days and I can’t wait.

I shot this wedding outfit a few weeks ago, a gorgeous winter wedding for my sister-in-law, in a Hogwarts-like school. The venue was so spectacular that I couldn’t resist doing my own mini photoshoot while the professional photographer was capturing the wedding party. It was a fun day and I loved that no-one really got what a fashion blogger was all about – to which I happily explained that we were just fashion crazed posers!!!Winter-wedding-guest-16

My Jewellery Habits

My Jewellery Habits

Is rotating your favourite jewellery pieces stuck in a rut or just sticking to what you love? That’s the question I’ve been asking myself recently as my jewellery needs have been very similar day-by-day of late. I’m not complaining, but it got me wondering about my own jewellery habits that I thought I would share how my jewellery look comes together.

First up, I always start with my arm candy, I have a lot of love for bracelet stacks, pretty watches, and statement bangles. The starting point is generally, silver or gold, nine out of ten times it is silver, just my preference, but as soon as that’s sorted it guides me down which pieces to pick out first. Normally that first piece is my watch, I have a lot, probably too many but I do like to mix this piece up, whether it is changing the strap on my current fav, Shore Projects, I do love the metallic and mint green ones, or going for something a little smarter like the Citizen Eco-Drive, and then I can decide which bracelets will work best with my outfit.

My Style: The Perfect Pink Jumper From Odd Molly

My-style-Odd-Molly-6

The sun is shining so of course I need to get my Barbie pink on!!! OK, so this look seems like I am covered up for winter, the gorgeous Odd Molly cable knit definitely photographs heavier than it is, but when the weather is nice, bright, but still a little chilly I love wearing knitted jumpers and jeans at the weekend – and for me spring sunshine is all about those moments when you can leave the house without a coat!!!

I was introduced to Odd Molly at an event last year, I have to be honest I hadn’t heard of the Scandinavian fashion brand before, but I have really fallen in love with its contemporary boho vibe, especially the jumpers and the smock-style dresses, it really is a label all about comfort, which I love.

This coral pink Corset Sweater really caught my eye, not only for the great colour, but for the details – the front is cute with its cable knit but this beauty is all about the lace knitted tie-string to the back. It adds something a little different and it definitely makes it summer ready.

Embracing the sun and the brighter outlook with this outfit I went for my trusty Ida by Donna Ida jeans but in the ice wash, rather than my go-to dark vintage hue. I worry wearing such a light colour of denim normally, I don’t have the smallest of thighs, but there is something about Donna Ida that just makes you feel and look great.

Finishing up my look are a few fun pieces of jewellery, first up is my Flamingo adorned Anna Lou of London enamel bangle, perfect when worn with a three-quarter sleeve jumper as this beauty really needs to be shown off. Then I have my beautiful butterfly necklace from Swarovski, I just love how delicate it is, and the colours really work with this jumper.

Are you a fan of a bright jumper when embracing the sun?

Maleficent: Angelina Jolie In Atelier Versace

Maleficent-angelina-jolie-1Who: Angelina Jolie

Where: At Disney’s “Maleficent” red carpet event at Kensington Palace in London to showcase the costumes from the film

Wearing: A black custom-made Atelier Versace gown with plunging v-neckline to the front and back, sheer long sleeves and embellished with Swarovski crystals, teamed with black heels and minimal accessories

Verdict: If I had just seen this look on a photograph I might have just quickly dismissed it with, yeah it is flawless as always but feels like she has done it before, but because I was at the red carpet event and saw her wearing this exquisite embellished gown I was in awe at how beautiful she looked. Everything from her sleek up-do, dramatic eyes, and her coordinated man, Brad Pitt, wearing a black Gucci suit on her arm was just to show off this incredible gown that really did shimmer.

Granted I do feel like I have seen this dress before, it is like a black version of this Elie Saab and it is quite similar to this Atelier Versace gown she wore last year, but I still think it is gorgeous. The front of the dress was nice, but for me it was all about the deep-V to the back, the draping is just divine and I loved that the entire gown was dripping in Swarovski crystals.

Everyone who saw her last night was saying that there aren’t that many real superstars left in acting anymore and I quite agree – the actress spent about an hour on the red carpet and I was captivated by her demure, gracious and charming personality as she did interviews and signed fans autographs. Not going to lie but I was totally under Angie’s spell!!!

Are you a fan of Angelina Jolie’s latest red carpet look?
