Chic Tailoring: Superdry + Timothy Everest

Last night I went along to the huge Superdry store on Regent Street in London to check out its latest collaboration with contemporary British tailor Timothy Everest. After the success of the men’s line, the fashion brand is launching a new tailored ‘trans-seasonal’ collection specifically for women, full of chic blazers.

The collection was presented like a tailors studio, but with a rock star twist, semi trashed with the blazers sprawled all over the place, playing cards scattered and the whisky on the dresser. Such a cool concept to launch the four new styles: ‘The Town Coat’ – think Aggy meets Pixie Lott; ‘The Country Rebel’ – casual ladylike chic; ‘The Rock Rebel’ – the slightly oversized Debbie Harry meets Chrissie Hynde blazer; and ‘The Muse’ where the lapels and the gorgeous buttons do the talking.

Basically, if like me you just think of Superdry as the best place to pick up a great coloured hoodie or a super cute casual dress then you will be pleasantly surprised and excited by this collection of core tailored staples, which mixes masculine touches perfectly with a feminine edge from the pops of colour.

The blazer has always been a wardrobe staple, but I have to be honest I have only just got the brilliance of a great fitted blazer. My one and only however is of the bright pink variety from Gap, which I adore, but these beauties were cool, classic and oh so stylish.

The two styles I particularly loved were ‘The Muse’, a navy flannel blazer with its gorgeous buttons, a flash of pink under the collar, and its secret Oyster cardholder, and ‘The Rock Rebel’, I just loved its casual luxe vibe with the slightly oversized two-button black blazer, which I reckon would look perfect with anything and everything.

The collection hits stores in May, with prices ranging from £75 to £250, and I for one can’t wait to go and try them all on.

As well as checking out the clothes I couldn’t help getting in on the Magic Mirror action, the techy photobooth, with the gorgeous Ngoni and Van, yep that’s me sporting bright pink Superdry accessories!!!Superdry magic mirror Chic Tailoring: Superdry + Timothy Everest %tag

Snow, Snow, Snow: My Winter Wonderland

Winter walk 12 Snow, Snow, Snow: My Winter Wonderland %tag

I love snow, I love wrapping up warm, and I love a winter wonderland postcard scene, so when the snow finally fell on my village today I couldn’t resist getting my new Superdry bobble hat on and heading out for a very chilly, but fun winter walk.

Is there anything more perfect than walking in the snow??? I love the crunch underfoot, the sliding and hoping I don’t fall over, and call me crazy but I also love the chill against my face. Granted I can see that the snow can be disruptive and makes commuting a pain – but come on it is so pretty!!!

So, what did you do in the snow today?

Ongoing Obsession: The Hunt For A Leather Jacket

Warehouse - AW11

I know I have a lot of obsession, but my latest has to be hunting for the perfect leather jacket, something I might add is not going so well. I have done the high-street, tried online, and even hit vintage and charity shops, nothing seems to be working. I either don’t like the shiny leather, the cut, arms aren’t long enough, or annoyingly pure and simply doesn’t fit!!

Well it seems I might have a bit more look when the autumn/winter 2011 collections hit the shops as I have seen some beauties: from a gorgeous navy blue one from Superdry (below) and a gorgeous quilted number from Warehouse (above).

River Island - AW11

I hadn’t really considered a brown leather jacket until I saw this one at the River Island press day, but I love the patchwork vibe to it. But for me this is more casual than I would have liked, perfect for the weekend though.

Have you seen an amazing leather jacket I should check out? All suggestions of shops, brands very much welcome.

As always Fashion Target Breast Cancer (FTBC) campaign always provides the perfect excuse to be charitable while looking fabulous, this year is no exception, and thankfully there isn’t a charity tee (it’s like the charity single a little over done!).

The FTBC have teamed up with the hottest shops and designers including Topshop, River Island and Superdry and are offering dresses, sunwear, accessories, tops, skirts and my favourite piece is this hot one-shoulder black dress by Olivia Rubin.

Also check out this great video showcasing Olivia’s dress here.

That is not all – they even got Kylie Minogue, Sienna Miller and Claudia Schiffer to front this year’s campaign – they look stunning in these shots by Mario Testino.

I couldn’t just leave you with Olivia’s dress – here are my other favourite pieces from the collection, I have to have the pom pom scarf and that funky travel card holder for my Oyster card.
