Cover Loving: Emily Blunt In Prada For Citizen K

I do love a cinematic cover and editorial spread and this one from Citizen K’s autumn issue featuring Emily Blunt is one of the best I have seen for a while, I just adore her disturbed housewife role.

Shot by Gavin Bond, Emily Blunt looks amazing, very prim and proper, I love the matching ruby-red lips and nails, and it is all pulled together nicely with an added stiffness and a cold stare that you would expect from a Stepford wife – seriously cool shoot.

The cover sets the scene perfectly, Emily looks striking in an incredible Prada look styled by Penny Lovell – that beaded crop top is divine. Throughout the editorial I love the contrast of the glamorous styling featuring red carpet worthy gowns from the likes of Roberto Cavalli against the housewife tasks, you see Emily beheading a rose, cleaning the pool, feeding the dog, and even finding the time to catch a few rays between chores – the story telling is perfection.

I do love it when magazines take their cover shoots to a whole new level and this is one of my favourites this year. Do you rate Emily Blunt as a Stepford wife?

The Dark Knight Rises: Anne Hathaway In Prabal Gurung

Who: Anne Hathaway

Where: At the world premiere of The Dark Knight Rises at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City

Wearing: A white jersey Prabal Gurung gown with a plunging v-neckline, an exposed cotton tulle corset, a peplum, and a cowl back from the Resort 2013 collection, finished off perfectly with diamond-stud earrings and a silver bracelet

Verdict: Anne Hathaway really is a striking beauty, I have to be honest I wasn’t keen on her pixie crop I know it was for a part, but it didn’t captivate me as much as when Emma Watson went for the chop. That was until now, this is the best I have seen her, she really looks stunning in this divine Prabal Gurung gown.

Normally I am not sure about white dresses they really can be a little too bridal for me on the red carpet, but there isn’t anything I don’t like about this dress – I adore the plunging neckline, the cowl draping to the back, and most of all I love the on-trend peplum detailing – this look just blew me away!!!

I am glad she didn’t go crazy with her accessories, simple jewellery totally works with this gown, but what I am pleased to see is that her make-up artist Kate Lee went for gorgeous pink lips – really finished off the look perfectly.

Just signing off this post and I remembered that Jennifer Lawrence also wore Prabal Gurung to her world premiere for The Hunger Games – he really is having a good year.

Do you rate Anne’s look?

People’s Choice: Ginnifer Goodwin In Roksanda Ilincic

Who: Ginnifer Goodwin

Where: At the 2012 People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: A bright pink Roksanda Ilincic dress with bell sleeves, look 13 from the spring/summer 2012 collection, team with lace Jimmy Choo booties and Van Cleef and Arpels jewels; styled by Penny Lovell for Starworks Artists.

Verdict: I love it when stars wear a splash of colour on the red carpet and you can’t get brighter than this shocking pink number from London Fashion Week designer Roksanda Ilincic. It is also nice again to see one of LFW stars shining on the red carpet, and I am so glad that it was someone like Ginnifer who’s styled I have always admired and I think she looks stunning in this ladylike dress, I love that it falls just below her knee – very chic!!

People’s Choice Awards: Lea Michele In Marchesa

Who: Glee star Lea Michele

Where: At the 2012 People’s Choice Awards in LA

Wearing: A white Marchesa cocktail dress with fringe detailing, teamed with Jimmy Choo sandals and a gold clutch; styled by Estee Stanley for Starworks Artists

Verdict: I wasn’t sure at first about this flapper-inspired dress, I was prepared with the Gatsby invasion that someone might go there but I wasn’t expecting it to be Lea or Marchesa for that matter. On reflection though I quite like it, not my best dressed or even second place, but a close third with Emma Stone in a Gucci suit. I do love the texture of the dress, the fringing is exquisite, but what I adore the most is her confidence in this dress – she really is working it.

One thing that stuck with me from this look though had to be her gorgeous fuchsia lipstick – love that shade on her.
