Visual Stories: Introducing eBay Collections

ebay collections Visual Stories: Introducing eBay Collections %tag

There is something about eBay, whether it is the thrill in chasing a bargain, the high of tracking down something rare, or the pleasure you get from buying something completely random that you never thought you wanted but now can’t live without. I go through spells of addiction with eBay, from searching for the latest Barbie doll or the one that got away, I am talking about you Vera Wang Barbie, to a new cover for my mobile, to picking up supplies to make my own bracelets – I just love that no matter what you are after, whether fashion, beauty or technology, there is always at least one person selling what you are looking for.

Recently I have been working with eBay to try out their new fab shoppable ‘eBay Collections’ feature, which handily places all the things you are stalking into handy groups. In my case one dedicated to handbags, kitty fashion – because who doesn’t love a cat jumper , and even one for all the fashion books I still haven’t had chance to add to my book shelves. Basically it is just a cool feature that makes it easier to watch all the items you want to snap up or showcase the pieces you are selling.

I really like the pinnable-vibe of the new feature, anything where I get to curate my own space I am totally in, and it is so easy to do – just search out the products you are after, get scrolling through, and then simply click ‘add to collection’ on the products you want. It just makes it easier to search out the bargain as once in your ‘collection’ you can then look through all your wanted items and click straight through to buy. If you don’t believe me on how simple it is, give it ago – all you need to get started is an eBay account, and come on everyone has one of those!!!

You will also notice that the profile pages are a little different, less anonymous and much more personal and more like other social media platforms – you can personalise with a piccie, a background and even a few words about yourself – plus you can follow your favourite people, hint hint me, and see what they are adding in their collections. It is fun seeing what other people are crushing on, obsessing over, and desperately trying to track down –  trust me you can lose a couple of hours getting inspiration from other peoples collections.

Check out my first 12 collections here and don’t forget to share with me on Twitter and Facebook what let you have your eye on.

Shopping: Winter Coats At Hobbs

Hobbs winter coats Shopping: Winter Coats At Hobbs %tagShopping for winter coats can be stressful, you have to pick something that you are going to love for the whole season, it has to go with literally everything, plus it has to be warm but not too warm that you can’t wear layers.

For autumn/winter 2013, it seems that everyone has delivered and there are so many amazing coats to choose from – whether you are after a chic cocoon style, an oversized beauty, a tailored classic, or after that pop of pink.

One of the brands that really impressed me with their AW13 collection had to be Hobbs and when I was checking out their winter coats for women I was literally spoilt for choice – they literally have every trend covered.

For a modern cover-up that still makes a statement the Maisie is one of my favourites – I love the bold colour, the mid-thigh length, and most of all the double-breasted design makes for a clean silhouette that will make this coat work comfortably over a dress as well as with jeans. Love the design but not the colour, this beauty also comes in black for a timeless winter coat that you will get out each season.

Oversized coats are one of this season’s biggest trends, but can seem like one of the scariest, go for styles that don’t necessarily look too big for you but rather ones that exaggerate the style like the Daisey. This light grey coat is super comfortable on, I have tried it on three times deciding whether it is the one for me, and I love the oversized collar, the cocoon shape as well as the contemporary finish of the colour and single button. Just remember with oversized styles to balance the proportions with streamlined pieces underneath.

PERSEphone hobbs Shopping: Winter Coats At Hobbs %tagA classic that never goes out of style is the trench coat, but rather than just going for black or stone Hobbs have an exquisite moss-green shade that will make you stand out this winter. Featuring all the details you would expect from a trench – the Persephone has a contemporary feel about it with the bold colour and the length falling below the knee.

So I have covered modern, oversized and classic – but one of my favourite trends this winter has to be the pink explosion and Hobbs has the Lacey, an oversized and loose-fitting style that keeps it feminine with the vibrant Orchid hue and dropped shoulders. With ankle grazing jeans, a white shirt and black pointy heels this coat will not only look incredible but keep you warm.

So which Hobbs coat is your favourite? I think the Lacey is getting my vote – but the Persephone is a close second.
