AW13 Campaign: Sonia Rykiel Gets Inspired By Mad Men

If Don Draper was handling French fashion label Sonia Rykiel’s advertising campaign this is probably what he would have come up with – a striking, bold and very arty ad to mark new creative director Geraldo da Conceição’s first collection for the fashion house.

Featuring British model Sam Rollinson, the autumn/winter 2013 campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and pays homage to French advertising posters from the 1950s and ’60s.

I just love the styling, that sky blue coat is amazing, and I adore the graphic cut-out shapes – the keyhole, lips and a face silhouette, which is very Picasso, and Sam Rollinson looks stunning.

Everything about this campaign is bold, fresh and makes a statement – bravo Sonia Rykiel – these ads are going to literally pop off the page!!!

PFW Front Row: Dita Von Teese Hits Paris Shows

Where: At the Jean Paul Gaultier Ready to Wear SS11 show during Paris Fashion Week

Wearing: A black dress with spike cape detailing from Jean Paul Gaultier’s Couture AW10 collection teamed with Christian Louboutin heels, black gloves and clutch

Verdict: I love this spiked cape, so JPG and so DVT, LOVE!!! I know that this fashion week Dita seems to be embracing her little black dresses – this one is certainly my favourite.

Where: At the Sonia Rykiel Ready to Wear SS11 show during Paris Fashion Week

Wearing: A two-tone black and nude Sonia Rykiel dress from the AW10 collection teamed a great pom-pom hat

Verdict: Not too many people could carry off this amazing pom-pom hat, but of course Dita is a class in her own and I love her style. This isn’t my favourite of the black dresses but I do like the coordinated nude sleeves *is it wrong that it kind of reminds me off an ice skating outfit? – which I love*.

Where: At the Lanvin Ready to Wear SS11 show during Paris Fashion Week at Halle Freyssinet

Wearing: Head-to-toe Lanvin *of course* and black *again*

Verdict: This is the most blah outfit of the three for me, it is an

So what are thinking of Dita’s front row fashion? I love that the red lippy came out for each outfit, that she supports each designer, but I think I would have loved something more than just black.

Lanvin Loving: H&M New Designer Collaboration

It has been everywhere today, but I don’t care I am that excited – as H&M has announced that the next designer collaboration is with French fashion label Lanvin. I was super excited by the Sonia Rykiel collection earlier this year but this one designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, has to be the biggest to date.

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

So if like me and you’ve already added November 23 into your Blackberry as a date reminder then you’ve probably already put together a mental wish-list as well. Get ready for it though as it is only going into 200 stores worldwide so I can see a queue and elbows in my future to a gorgeous Lanvin piece for my wardrobe. I hoping for some heels, a handbag oh and a ruffled dress!!

Both womenswear and menswear will be revealed to the world on November 2 in a special video – loving the social media drive they have done with this campaign – very fashion forward like the collection no doubt.

Sonia Rykiel For H&M

Pic: H&M

This is one of my favourite designer collaborations with H&M from the wonderful Sonia Rykiel. Following on from the success of her lingerie collection she has gone for brilliant colour and classic knits this spring.

Hitting only 200 H&M store worldwide on Saturday, February 20,

The collection is full of classic Rykiel signatures, and for me bright candy colours like the pink and yellow dresses make this range – but the striped sweaters are to-die for.

Some of the pieces show the demure side of Saint Germain style, like the double-breasted blazer or the sweet short skirt, while elsewhere the collection brings fashion fantasy to life with leggings covered in rhinestones, and the perfect drawstring jumpsuit.

To complete the collection platform sandals, which can worn with Sonia Rykiel pour H&M striped socks until the weather catches up.

Love, love, love – a little bit of Parisian chic is going to be hitting my wardrobe!!
