SAG Awards: Jessica Chastain In Alexander McQueen

Who: Jessica Chastain

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles

Wearing: A strapless red duchesse satin Alexander McQueen gown from the pre-autumn/winter 2013 collection, teamed with a Harry Winston necklace

Verdict: As you will know I wasn’t impressed with Jessica Chastain’s Golden Globes look but at last night’s SAG Awards she really showcased her red carpet pulling power in this Jessica Rabbit-esq Alexander McQueen gown.

First of all how incredible does her body look in this gorgeous gown – I love the sexy silhouette on her, she really should wear gowns like this more. Everything from the colour, which works perfectly against her fiery red hair, to the sweetheart neckline, to the diamond necklace – this is one of the most glamorous looks of the night.

After the Golden Globes I was worried what we would get for the Oscars but this look gives me hope!!!

SAG Awards: Marion Cotillard In Dior

marion-cotillard-diorWho: Marion Cotillard

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A strapless white and navy Christian Dior gown from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with black pointy heel and a Chopard necklace

Verdict: I have to be honest I have been a little underwhelmed by Marion Cotillard’s red carpet looks of late, I get that she is a Dior ambassador but she really needs to step away and do something different.

This gown has been modified from the runway look but not in a good way, the runway look was coral instead of blue, which I prefer, and it wasn’t strapless but had a cap-sleeved top. What I just don’t get is why – the coral beauty would have looked incredible. One thing I do love though are the pockets.

Am I being a little harsh? Do you like Marion’s latest look?

SAG Awards: Naya Rivera In Donna Karan Atelier

Naya-Rivera-donna-karanWho: Glee star Naya Rivera

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles

Wearing: A strapless black duchess satin Donna Karan Atelier gown with an peek-a-boo sheer panel, and accordion pleated that fanned around the exposed corset, teamed with drop earrings, bracelet and a matching cocktail ring

Verdict: There were a lot of young starlets who shined at last night’s SAG Awards and Glee actress Naya Rivera perfected glamorous and sexy in this exquisite Donna Karan Atelier gown.

I love the contrast of the sexy mermaid silhouette, which really shows off her incredible figure, and the sheer panel on the corset, against the delicate accordion pleats on the bodice and the softness of her wavy hair-do.

Once again Donna Karan propels another young starlet on the red carpet – we’ve seen Nina Dobrev, Ashley Greene and even Taylor Swift hit the top of the best dressed list thanks to Donna Karan and I think Naya will do just the same.Naya-Rivera-sag-awards[Pic: courtesy of Donna Karan]

SAG Awards: Anne Hathaway In Giambattista Valli Couture

Who: Anne Hathaway

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles

Wearing: A black silk embroidered tulle Giambattista Valli gown from the Haute Couture spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with Jimmy Choo Kalpa sandals and Kwiat jewellery

Verdict: There was a lot of black again last night on the SAG Awards red carpet and one of the standout looks had to be from Anne Hathaway. I am not sure this is my favourite look from her, I do love that she went for something other than a column gown, but I would have like the dress to have been a bit more dramatic.

With that I mean I wish it was a little shorter, showed off her ankles and those killer Jimmy Choo heels, and that the tulle skirt was a little bigger, more frothy, more girlie if you like. I do get a vintage Hollywood feel about the look with her pixie cut, but I wanted it to be a little bit more extreme – as it is I just like it rather than loving it.

So we’ve had a white moment at the Golden Globes with Chanel Couture and now black with this Couture number, so can we expect a splash of colour for the Oscars???

SAG Awards: Jennifer Garner Sparkles In Oscar de la Renta

Who: Jennifer Garner

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles

Wearing: A strapless gold sequinned Oscar de la Renta gown from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with gold David Webb jewellery

Verdict: I love, love, love it when Jennifer Garner gets all glammed up, she really does know how to work the red carpet at major award ceremonies and this gown is one of my favourite from last night’s SAG Awards.

I always love seeing gold sparkles on the red carpet, and I love it even more when it is full on glam like this structured OdlR gown.

I also love the contrast of her soft wavy hair-do with the structured, intricately embroidered gown, totally worked for me, and I am so glad that she kept her jewellery minimal this gown didn’t need anything else really to make it shine.

Do you like Jennifer’s glam look?

SAG Awards: Sofia Vergara In Donna Karan Atelier

Who: Sofia Vergara

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles

Wearing: A white gold liquid lame Donna Karan Atelier gown featuring one-shoulder detailing and a loosely draped skirt with slit, teamed with white Charlotte Olympia heels and Neil Lane jewels

Verdict: Combine Sofia’s va-va-voom with the incredible craftsmanship of Donna Karan and you get a subtle-yet-sexy gown that still shows off the Modern Family’s star’s curves and sex appeal, while being glamorous.

I love the bodice to this dress with the asymmetrical one-shoulder as well as the draping around the bust – it just has a modern feel to it with the shimmery fabric.

What do you think of Sofia’s gown? Are you pleased she stepped away from the mermaid silhouette?
