Visual Diary: The Joys Of Spring

I love it when the clocks go forward, not only do I get to enjoy an extra hour in bed, but I know that the long sunny nights are on there way. I am a lover of all seasons, I adore the snow in winter, the changing of the leaves in autumn, and that summer brings my birthday as well as the UK’s best weather, the occasional heat wave, but there is something special about spring.

I not sure whether it is because it follows the cold, not that this winter has been as cold as previous years (I am still waiting for the snow), or that it brings out the flowers, I especially love daffodils all lined up in a row, or that the fields surrounding my village are dotted with adorable lambs bouncing around the field playing. There is just something so giddy and playful about spring that always makes me smile.

We have had a great start to spring, this weekend was gorgeous, it was nice just to spend time in the garden watching the butterflies fluttering around enjoying the blossom on the trees and listening to all the birds chirping away – it is hard to think of a better way to spend a Sunday to be honest.

As well as enjoying the sun, my surroundings, and outside brunches with friends, I also love that spring means lightweight knits, fun lovely flats and peep-toe heels, and if you are really lucky – no coat at all. Plus it is always the time of year that I love to do a revamp of my wardrobe – out with the old and in with the new.

What does spring mean to you?

What’s In My Bag: My LFW Lifesavers

LFW Bag 1 Whats In My Bag: My LFW Lifesavers %tag

Each fashion week I always lay out a different bag for each day and each season I never really stray away from one as it turns out to be perfect for carrying all my LFW essentials, which are better known as my lifesavers as fashion week turns me into a right drama queen!!!

Last year I did a blog post on the 8 Things A Fashion Blogger Needs On-The-Go, you guys all seemed to love it, and most of the things I still really agree with – the phone is still important, fast connection is a must, never go anywhere without a pad or a proper camera, and always go for a bag that is not only roomy enough but is comfortable when it is all packed in.

For the autumn/winter 2014 shows I packed my loaned Russell & Bromley Gilt Edge handbag with all that and more. The major change from my blog post last year has to be the technology, I still agree with ditching the laptop, but this season I am all about the Windows Surface 2 - part tablet, part laptop – just slimmer, lighter and so perfect for putting in your handbag.

I have gushed about the Windows Surface 2 before, I am obsessed with using it while I am cooking with its hand-swipe technology, but it is also great for doing my work while I am out-and-about. Not only is it light, it also comes complete with Office – so it means I can do all my work using Word, which is so much easier than using notepad on the iPad, plus it means that there isn’t a chance of sending copy that has spelling mistakes in, which is so easy to do when you are rushing about during fashion week.

The other piece of technology that has been a lifesaver is the Samsung Note 3, I spoke a little about it in an earlier style post, but I really can’t stress how amazing it has been especially when it comes to editing photographs on-the-go. The camera itself is great, it has an amazing 13 MP, but it is the combination of the large 5.7″ display and S Pen that makes it great for getting the best picture ever, and the pre-loaded editing software is just as good as any of the apps you can download like VSO Cam and Snapseed.

The phone also has a Scrapbook function, I think this is available for all Samsung devices, which is great for organising photos and videos to make them easier to find. The other lifesaving function had to be the multi-window, which allows you view two different applications on the large screen – so I could look at my social media channels, while checking out my schedule for where I was suppose to be heading.

As well as technology there were three other items that I couldn’t leave the house without – my fingerless gloves knitted by mum, cosy and perfect, my Lola by Marc Jacobs perfume, everyone needs to smell nice, and Soap & Glory’s Kick Ass Concealer, a three-piece camouflage kit that always to perk up my make-up.

What essentials do you swear by for fashion week?
