My Style: Day Four At London Fashion Week

Fashionista barbie My Style: Day Four At London Fashion Week %tagDay four at London Fashion Week always makes me question what day it is, I know it is Monday, but my body is saying it is Thursday already!!! With that in mind I have brought out my favourite flats – my Russell & Bromley patent brogues, super comfortable, go with everything, and I love that they make my feet super tiny.

As each day I tried to work a trend or a key look that I am loving at the moment, today was all about the pinafore dress as everywhere from River Island, where mine is from, to Topshop and H&M have gorgeous ones at the moment. I have to be honest I was a little worried about the fit as my straps kept falling down and then I realised that you could adjust them, I wasn’t sure how to layer up without losing the cute shape of the dress as it is quite thin.

I decided to just pair it with a slouchy white tee, I tried jumpers and a shirt but it just kept making it look bulky. To nip in my waist I used my cute red bow belt that looked great against the black and white, and unlike other days where I have been wearing silver jewellery I decided to go for gold pieces as I really wanted to wear this adorable stag necklace from Wonsuponatime, a fairly new online jewellery boutique that I’ve fallen in love with.

My Style: A Rainy Day Needs A Gorgeous Dress

MyStyleWarehouse1 My Style: A Rainy Day Needs A Gorgeous Dress %tag

The weather it seems has been the hot topic for weeks now, granted we all know that Blighty isn’t an island blessed with gorgeous summers, we are known for the occasionally heat wave but generally it isn’t amazing. However, I think everyone would agree with me when I say bring back the old summers all is forgiven as it feels lately that this is more autumn than summer.

Well I have decided that no matter how bad the weather is, and to be honest it couldn’t have gotten much worse on the day this picture was taken – think constant rain, that I am going to make myself feel better with a great dress.

The dress in question in this post is from Warehouse, if you haven’t stopped by in a while do, I always seem to leave with something. This dress isn’t very summery, I was attracted by the print and the pleated skirt, but it definitely wasn’t geared for high winds and rain – I did flash a few peeps during my Christmas in July madness across London.

What have you been wearing to cheer yourself up from this weather?

[Pic: thanks to Sherin for snapping me and blame the rain for the state of my hair!!!]

My Style: A Coral Beauty From Warehouse With Thomas Sabo

ChristeningMyStyle1 My Style: A Coral Beauty From Warehouse With Thomas Sabo %tag

At the weekend I was official declared a god parent to the beautiful Sebbie, and I decided to go for a dress that would be suitable chic, responsible, as well as reflective of my personality and need for colour. I have to admit the crazy weather of one minute being like spring to the next being freezing cold did play with my decisions a lot but I finally found this gorgeous coral flared dress from Warehouse.

I have to admit I haven’t shopped that much in Warehouse over the past few seasons but I have been so impressed with the new collection that I couldn’t resist this super flattering dress. Not only was it reasonably priced at £60, which is pretty good considering the exquisite tailoring, lining, and accompanying belt it comes with, but best of all it isn’t too short, which has been my biggest problem on this Christening dress hunt.

This dress is perfect for the spring/summer with its beige belt  and I had planned to wear with nude peep-toe heels, but for the wintry/rainy Sunday I decided to opt for black accessories, so I change out the belt for a black one so I could team with tights, a three-quarter blazer from New Look, and I even brought out my pointed toe laser-cut heels out of retirement, well that was until I got covered in mud so the trusty patent Russell & Bromley brogues came out!!!

Jewellery plays a big part in most of my outfits, especially in this one as I didn’t seem to take a bag, and I decided to wear my favourite pieces – my Thomas Sabo charm bracelet and my half-butterfly Swarovski crystallised necklace.

I have more than 10 Thomas Sabo charms that Paulie picks up for me regularly for my birthday, our anniversary and Christmas, and I have to admit I always find it hard to choose which ones to include. In the end I settled for a mix of classic, new, and oh so cute – with my first ever charms of the pink crystal heart and elephant, my latest charms being the panda and moo cow, and two of my favourites have to be the Eiffel tower and my Barbie head silhouette heart.

**Thanks to my good friend Sarah for taking my action shots in the brief moment that the rain stopped, as Sarah put it adding the balloons and motion was very Sex and the City, and I quite agree – so pleased with how the shots came out.**

LFW Day 5: My Style – Is This Neon Enough For You?

LFWDay5MyStyle1 LFW Day 5: My Style Is This Neon Enough For You? %tag

For my last day of London Fashion Week I felt that going neon would curb my tiredness and it certainly worked. This Barbie pink jumper from Primark instantly cheered me up, and got a few strange looks from people on the train, but I just love the shade, fit and the bargainous price of £4. When it comes to neon and bright colours you can either go for complementing shades or clashing, I kind of did both – I went for a black pleated knee-length skirt from Next and my trusty Russell & Bromley patent brogues, and then I clashed it with my red Osprey London bag – kind of becoming my thing working pink and red together!!!

Want to see my previous style posts from London Fashion Week? Well on Day 1 it was all about the bow, Day 2 Barbie charms and a Gucci-inspired skirt, Day 3 Kate Mouse came out to play, and Day 4 I decided that my life needed to be a little bit prim and a lot proper.

Which look do you prefer on me?

LFW Day 2: My Style – Added Barbie Charms!!!

MyStyleDay2LFW2 LFW Day 2: My Style Added Barbie Charms!!! %tag

Day 2 at London Fashion Week for me was all about the excitement of Barbie, as I blogged earlier this week my favourite doll is teaming up with Sister by Sibling as their model for their autumn/winter collection, so I thought in honour of her my outfit need to be a little Barbie-lious and it all started with my Barbie necklace and Thomas Sabo Barbie charm.

Been another hectic day, taking in shows from Daks, Elisa Palamino, Sister by Sibling, John Rocha, a cute presentation from Markus Lupfer, as well as seeing my friends over at Fashion Fringe for a presentation for former finalists Nabil Nayal and Alice Palmer at one of the most fantastic hotels the Corinthia, which Rihanna apparently was staying in.

Today, as always it seems on the Saturday at London Fashion Week was the day it rained, which always puts a dampen on things, mind the pun, and makes it harder to go to shows at different venues and I have to admit taking shelter at Markus Lupfer’s presentation wasn’t all bad!!!

This wool blend skirt with pleated detail to the front and very Gucci-inspired block colours was a bargain at Primark, costing me just £5 in the sale. I love the pop of colours against the black, and the fit was perfection. I paired this skirt with my black Jaeger Boutique jumper, which has star cut outs, I got this in the sale a few seasons ago and recently found it in my closet and have fallen in love with it again. Today was very cold and the sleeveless top I was going to wear just wasn’t going to cut it.

Finishing off my look today was once again my Osprey London bag and Russell & Bromley brogues, I know bad blogger wearing something more than once, but hey the bag is perfection and I didn’t have time to change over all my stuff and I couldn’t be bothered to wear heels.

Finally pieces of my look were dedicated to Barbie – wearing her signature necklace that I picked up off Etsy at the start of the year, and my Thomas Sabo Barbie silhouette charm.

**Sorry for the poor pictures – with the rain meant no outdoor shots and the light at home is obviously terrible**

LFW Day 1: My Style – An Oversized Bow and Bag

MyStyleDay1LFW6 LFW Day 1: My Style An Oversized Bow and Bag %tag

Today has been a hectic day at London Fashion Week, started with my first show at 9am at Somerset House for Antoni & Alison’s return to the catwalk – followed by some gorgeous displays from past, former and current Fashion Fringe winner’s Jena.Theo, Fyodor Golan, and a great front row spot at Corrie Nielsen; as well as a magnificent display from the Bora Aksu army of models; beautiful tailored draping from Maria Grachvogel; a gorgeous collection from Jean-Pierre Braganza; and prints galore from Basso & Brooke. I promise more detailed show reports with pictures, I did however take more than 500 shots yesterday so please bare with me, but there were some amazing sights.

This fashion week I am also making a conscious effort to do style posts everyday and I am starting with a look that I thought was cute and centred around an oversized bow and bag. The bow formed part of my new River Island light pink tee, I just adore this chiffon bow, super cute and got lots of great comments. I paired my tee with a flirty skater skirt from New Look, a light pink belt from Forever 21 with laser-cut star detailing, and my trust Russell & Bromley patent brogues – I know flats on the first day, but they looked so cute with this outfit.

To finish off my look I carried my new vibrant red leather Osprey London bug bag that the brand sent me for Christmas, love the colour, love the size, I just love it!!!!

Wedding Style: Twitter Lovebird Dress

Wedding5 Wedding Style: Twitter Lovebird Dress %tag

Last night I went to a lovely wedding in Essex and it was such a fun event; great time with friends, bit of dancing, the most amazing wedding cake filled with profiterole and ended with a stop off for a McD banana milkshake!!

I have to admit I did stress slightly about what to wear, I totally forgot that the dress I was planning to wear I wore to the previous wedding with the same group of friends a couple of months back, so you can imagine my relief when I finally found this little beauty about an hour before we were meant to leave. Back in September the high street was filled with such amazing colourful dresses, it seems now that it is a little colder they’ve all gone, so I was so pleased to find the Twitter lovebirds at New Look.

I know black isn’t the best option for a wedding, but I was only going to the evening reception so I thought it would work and my birdies are kissing so the romance theme is definitely there!!! What I loved about this dress other than the fab print had to be the sheer puff sleeves and collar detailing as well as the fit – this was a great dress to relax and have fun in.

Wedding4 Wedding Style: Twitter Lovebird Dress %tag

I finished off my look with a cute necklace from Forever 21, now all I need to do is find an exact replicate of that dress and I will be happy!!

I know weddings should be a time for statement heels, but I decided to go with my new go-to flats my patent brogues from Russell & Bromley, as they add a bit of glamour and are super comfortable. I am so glad I did as I was on my feet all night.
