Shop Her Style: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Marks & Spencer

So last night Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hit up a party celebrating her first fragrance with M&S Beauty wearing nothing more than a silk nightdress from her own Rosie for Autograph sleepwear collection for Marks & Spencer, and I have to be honest if you read that statement without seeing the pictures you might think she has lost her fashion mojo, but wow, Rosie really can wear anything and still look incredible.

OK, so we’ve seen lingerie-inspired pieces before on the red carpet, from the likes of Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier and even Elie Saab sent nightie-like dresses down the runway a few seasons ago, but they were designer, Rosie is oozing old-school glamour wearing an £89 silk slip and making it look effortless and chic, and I don’t think anyone would have thought that this was a nightgown at the party.

I love that she kept the vintage feel going with her statement necklace and delicate silver strappy heels. I simply can’t fault this look, as always she looks beautiful from head-to-toe and I adore her new lob haircut, super cute.

Now I’m not suggesting that it is OK to wear your silky nightie or pyjamas out, well that is unless you are a supermodel, but this style also comes in a shorter camisole version that you could wear underneath a shirt or dress so the négligée can peek through, or go bold and wear with jeans and a blazer for a chic, contemporary look. You might have to wait for it to get a little warmer though!!!

Are you tempted to wear your nightie out to a party? Or does it totally make you think of that episode from Friends when Rachel has to wear her lingerie out to dinner with her boyfriend’s parents?

Red Carpet: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Emilio Pucci

Who: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Where: At the ‘The Expendables 3′ LA premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California

Wearing: A black and white slip Emilio Pucci dress with black lace sheer paneling and low back, teamed with delicate jewellery and flawless make-up

Verdict: I was wondering if Rosie would be supporting boyfriend, Jason Statham, on the promo tour for The Expendables 3 and whether she would play the supporting, fade into the background role, or wow like she does best, and I am so pleased she went with wow, as this red carpet needed spicing up.

This monochrome maxi is gorgeous and without a doubt needed a supermodel like Rosie to really pull it off. The dress itself reminds me a little of lingerie with the sheer lace inserts and the slip-style top, but what makes this gown really stunning has to be the intricate black and white print – it really works with the sexy sheer panels.

As always the hair and make-up was flawless and I love the finishing touches with the delicate silver jewellery. I know I gush a lot about Rosie but come on when she looks this good it is hard not to.

What do you think of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s monochrome gown?

The Art Of A Great Selfie: Celebs Show You How It’s Done!!!

Instagram: @RosieHW

Instagram: @RosieHW

Perfecting the art of a great selfie is something that I find a challenge, I either come out looking like I have an alien sized head, my glasses look 10 inches thick, or I get the shakes trying to reach out far enough to get myself all in the shot, and don’t even get me going on the popular #FromWhereIStand selfie, I can never seem to be able to do it without making myself look short and chubby.

OK, I am not saying I want to do a selfie every day, I wouldn’t put you guys through that, but it would be nice from time-to-time to show off my glasses, or my outfit without getting my boyfriend involved, and I am totally blaming all the celebrities in my Instagram feed for making it look so easy for my desire to perfect it.

Granted they generally are already flawless to start with, Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley I am talking about you, they have make-up artist and hair stylists on call, and have their pick of the most amazing clothes but I was thinking that maybe I could learn a thing or two from their shots.

My favourite celebrity for selfies has to be Rosie, she always looks incredible, just check out the great angle she is working to show off her perfect pout and those amazing sunglasses, seriously love everything about her. Another celeb to steal selfie tips from has to be Khloe Kardashian, I love her in the car shots, she always captures the light perfectly.

Then there are the celebs who are all about eye contact, check out Victoria Beckham, such a great shot of her, to the girls that just want to have fun, I am looking at you Miley and Lauren Conrad with a bow in your hair, and they are joined by a horde of models and actresses like Miranda Kerr and Jaime King all showing how it is done.

So here is what I came up with on how to master the selfie:

  • Find your angles, very America’s Top Model but come on if Tara was doing a selfie master class she would have so said it. I find the best shots are captured when your phone is slightly above eye level and away from you at a 45-degree angle, and I always tilt my face slightly away so no shine off my glasses.
  • Great posture really does make you look slimmer, especially in pictures, so stand tall and keep your chin down so we don’t all see up your nose.
  • Natural light is your friend, so head outside, if you are indoors head towards the windows and get the sun to illuminate your face, trust me it will look better than artificial lighting.
  • Get to know your filters, whether that’s in Instagram or another photo editing app, filters can really help make you look better. I find if I am tired or my skin isn’t looking too good then the black and white filters such as Willow can make all the difference, I also love the effect of X-Pro II.
  • But most of all I have realised to smile and have fun – it is only a selfie!!!

So a tough crowd to follow – but here goes – a #Selfie I prepared earlier in my office. This took 10 attempts, I have found not too close, natural light but not too much with my glasses, a great background – I couldn’t leave Barbie out, and smile!!!

Have you perfected the selfie? Leave me any tips you have below in the comments – as I kind of feel that I should have hashtag this pic #SelfieInTraining.

Cover Loving: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley For Vogue Brazil

RHW-Vogue-Brazil-cover

Up there with Diane Kruger and Kate Hudson has to be Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, as well as working it on the red carpet and having great street style, Rosie is one of my favourite cover stars.

Her latest cover for Vogue Brazil’s April issue is one of my favourites this year and it is all to do with the Boho-Elvis mash-up of the styling.

Shot by photographer Henrique Gendre, this is a striking cover – I love the rhinestone embellished jumpsuit, the shaggy coat, and especially the black wide-rimmed hat – seriously great styling by Luis Fiod and Rosie looks incredible.

The accompanying editorial entitled “Gladiadora do Futuro” translated as Future Gladiator is just as cool – I think Rosie is the only model who can make walking through a petrol station, talking a payphone and lounging about in a diner sexy!!!

Are you a fan of Rosie’s latest cover?

LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Gucci

Who: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Where: At the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala host by Gucci honouring Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick

Wearing: A striking mint green floor-length Gucci gown featuring a ruffled neckline that cascaded down her back, teamed with white Gucci ankle-strap heels and a Gucci perspex clutch – all from the spring/summer 2013 collection

Verdict: The M&S designer/model/actress always looks stunning, she has an effortless beauty about her, which is perfect for this gorgeous elegant gown.

I love her barely there make-up, I truly adore that she wore her hair in a braided bun, it really showed off that wonderful neckline to the dress, and I am so pleased that she teamed her mint green dress with that icy coloured clutch.

I really don’t think I can fault this look. As always Rosie you look stunning.

Shopping: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Launches Her M&S Lingerie Collection

Yesterday I was a lucky blogger, I got to be in a room with the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who as regularly readers will know I am slightly obsessed with and she totally didn’t disappoint. Presenting her inaugural collection of sexy and luxurious lingerie for Marks & Spencer, Rosie talked through her inspirations, mainly her love of the 20s era, drawing on her experiences as a model, as well as replicating her favourite vintage Kimono vintage from her own wardrobe.

I was hoping for colour, especially as her lingerie line is a like a floral bloom, but I wasn’t disappointed in seeing Rosie looking stunning in a £55 fitted black dress from the M&S Autograph collection. Yep, you read that right, Rosie the supermodel wore and looked stunning in a dress we could all rush out and buy. The black peplum dress is gorgeous, I love the leather panel detail to the front, and I was surprised that it was off the high street. Finishing off her look were two skinny belts in black and burgundy, which really did highlight her tiny, tiny waist, and every celebrities favourite nude heels. It was classic and professional.

Unlike other celebrity lines, which I have to be honest I am always wary about how much they actually put into the collections, hearing Rosie talk in such detail and passion about each piece that came out in the presentation was refreshing. If the collection wasn’t stunning enough on its own, I loved it even more after hearing Rosie talk about it, I loved that even though she is drop-dead gorgeous she still has a shyness about her, her hands were glued to her notes and she didn’t look up much from them, it is nice to know that public speaking even makes one of the most stunning women on the planet nervous.

The 33-piece collection really is stunning, I loved everything from the colour palette of muted tones of dusky pink and green through to the scarlet blooms, and my favourite aspects of the collection had to be the intricate detailing of the Art Deco-inspired embroidery. M&S must really be patting themselves on their back for snagging Rosie as she is a star and this collection will no-doubt do well as it is gorgeous.

Prices start at £12.50 for knickers, through to £22.50 for bras and £65 for the silk kimono. Plus this collection has been made for nearly everyone, bra sizes range from A-E cups with selected styles G cup, and the knickers range from size 8 to 20.

I think £35 for a gorgeous bra set is amazing, but I can’t wait for the gorgeous cashmere pyjamas that are due later in the year they looked divine.

The Rosie for Autograph Collection is on sale in stores and online now – will you be buying her designs?

Cover Loving: Models Continue To Shine On The September Issues

I love celebrities and I do love seeing celebrities on magazine covers, yep even I have been persuaded to buy a magazine just because my favourite actress is on the cover, but I have to be honest I do love it when models take covers, more so when it is a September issue – as they are the fashion issues of the year.

It seems that this September the supermodels really are taking over and producing some amazing covers. I have already shown you ELLE UK’s gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, well the subscriber cover dropped through my letterbox over the weekend and I am so pleased they showcased her incredible pins!!! Well it seems that more magazines around the world understand the power of a model – Flare, Canada’s biggest fashion magazine has gone for Lindsey Wixson, Vogue UK and Japan both went for Karlie Kloss, Tokyo Numero have the lovely Candice Swanepoel, and Tatler shows that Cindy Crawford can still work it.

One of my favourite covers so far for September has to be Flare’s gold rush with Lindsey Wixson wearing a coat, top and skirt from Prabal Gurung’s autumn/winter 2012 collection, with incredible Laruicci earrings and a super pop of red lippy.

What I love about this cover, other than the obvious – her striking beauty, I still can’t believe that she is only 18-years-old, but that Flare didn’t go for one of the obvious, high-spending advertisers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton or Gucci – it is always refreshing to see, especially with a September issue.

I was expecting a lot from British Vogue, September as they state themselves is ‘Fashion’s Olympic moment’, but for me this vibrant  seventies-inspired look doesn’t quite cut it for me. Shot by Nick Knight, I love the Jonathan Saunders high-waisted gold printed skinny trousers teamed with a clashing printed silk shirt, but I am put off by Karlie’s pose, I am not sure Tara would approve, and I really dislike the orange and pink text – just too much.

I think I am going to have to give it to Vogue Japan, their September issue featuring Karlie in an Yves Saint Laurent chainmail dress is divine. I love the moody feel to this cover, the white background works perfectly with the smoky tones and of course it wouldn’t be Japanese without the text overload. Everything from the styling to the make-up to her pose and the text works on this cover shot by Mikael Jansson.

Special mention has to go to Cindy Crawford, how stunning does she look for Tatler, she really doesn’t age I couldn’t believe that she is 46 – she is giving these younger models a run for their money!!!

Have you been impressed with the September covers so far? Do let me know which ones are your favourites.
