Cover Loving: Rose Byrne Looks Gorgeous For Flare

I have said it several times before but Flare is a fab magazine and they really do produce gorgeous covers, and the August issue with the stunning Rose Byrne is another example of a great high-fashion cover.

Shot by Max Abadian, Rose is a picture of elegance wearing a stunning red lace Marchesa dress from the autumn/winter 2012, which if you are thinking it looks familiar it is probably because it is the same one that Jennifer Lawrence wore on her Hunger Games promo tour, and it is quite similar to the one that Blake Lively wore last year at CinemaCon.

The accompanying editorial spread is just as stunning, Rose looks incredible in a variety of autumn looks from labels such as Christopher Kane, Marc Jacobs, and Balenciaga, styled by Elizabeth Cabral. I am also loving her make-up, her Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in shade 01 on the cover is perfection.FlareRose2 Cover Loving: Rose Byrne Looks Gorgeous For Flare %tag

In the interview, Rose discusses her off-duty style, red carpet preparation, as well as talking about that gorgeous Elie Saab jumpsuit that she wore to the 2012 SAG Awards, which I think kind of started a red carpet trend on Elie Saab jumpsuits, and her sparkly Vivienne Westwood Oscar dress.

On her Elie Saab jumpsuit at the 2012 SAG Awards: “When I wore that jumpsuit, Penny [her stylist] and I fully discussed that you can’t please everybody, that it will probably be loved by Vogue and hated by People. It’s just clothes, it should be fun. It’s been good, to take risks knowing that’s the reality of it.”

On her Vivienne Westwood dress at the 2012 Academy Awards:
“[Vivienne Westwood] worked so well with us altering it, it ended up totally different from the original dress.”

On preparing for red carpet: “You’ve got to get your stamina ready. Particularly for an awards ceremony, that’s a different league. But I have my group around me, and it’s fun. I think for the red carpet in general it’s important to keep it youthful. A lot of people can look very dressed up and old and severe. That’s sort of my worst fear, is erring on that side.”

On her pre-red carpet ritual: “Try to get a good night’s sleep, don’t go out at all the night before. In the morning, get some exercise, for mental health. Then it’s just fun.”

On her off-duty style: “I go through phases. But I mostly dress in high street clothing, like Urban Outfitters. Every day, really.” FlareRose1 Cover Loving: Rose Byrne Looks Gorgeous For Flare %tag

LFW AW12: Pringle Of Scotland – Classy Knitwear

Pringle8 LFW AW12: Pringle Of Scotland Classy Knitwear %tag

This was one of my favourite shows, not only was the front row glamorous, but the collection had a modern-yet-contemporary feel about it that made me want every single piece that came down the runway especially all the coats.

Inspired by Alistair Carr’s return to the UK and his memories of youth, there is a Clueless-meets-school girl vibe to the collection in the twin-sets, box pleats and flashes of neon pink. Carr delved into the Pringle archives and produced a very classy line of knitwear staples with everything from polo necks, twin-sets, ribbed knitted dresses.

There seemed to be a lot more focus on outerwear this season, which I adored, I loved all the coats from the voluminous cocoon shapes in contrasting autumnal orange and navy, to the military inspired tailored, pocketed coats in cobalt blue and grey,  and the gorgeous short bombers with high-collars – all teamed with flattering trousers, skirts, and dresses.

Top of my wishlist has to be the navy coat with the giant pink lapels – I adore this. One thing I wish would go away however has to be the dip-dye hair, I am still just not feeling it.

The front row at Pringle was one of my best shows I attended this season, and my first LFW sighting of Olivia Palermo. But who I was most excited about seeing was the gorgeous Rose Byrne, who just looked incredible in her autumn/winter 2012 Pringle dress, and I have to say she is more beautiful up close.

84th Oscars: Rose Byrne In Vivienne Westwood

RoseByrne 84th Oscars: Rose Byrne In Vivienne Westwood %tag

Who: Bridesmaids’ star Rose Byrne

Where: At the 84th Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A one-shoulder midnight-blue sequinned Vivienne Westwood slinky gown, teamed with her blunt bob, Chanel drop earrings and Jimmy Choo ‘New Linda’ heels

Verdict: I have to admit I was a little surprised that this was Vivienne Westwood, and I don’t think I would have believed it except Rose told Ryan Seacrest on E! News. After being wowed at the SAG Awards when Rose wore a jumpsuit and getting up close and personal to her at the Pringle of Scotland LFW show and seeing how gorgeous she is in real life, I think I have a little crush on her. I love the glamour of this gown, with its all-over sequins and draping detailing to the front, and it fits her perfectly. I think on anyone else this could have been a boring look but on her it looks modern and fresh. I like it.

SAG Awards: Rose Byrne Best Dressed In Elie Saab

RoseByrneElieSaab SAG Awards: Rose Byrne Best Dressed In Elie Saab %tag

Who: Rose Byrne

Where: At the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony in Los Angeles

Wearing: A white, deep v-neck fully embroidered Elie Saab jumpsuit with structured shoulders, from the Elie Saab Haute Couture archive collection, accessorised with Chanel fine jewellery, a Lena Erziak clutch and Jimmy Choo heels

Verdict: Rose takes my best dressed crown for this year’s SAG Awards mainly because her daring risk totally paid off with this exquisite sparkling jumpsuit. Totally unconventional, but worked perfectly with her fabulous sleek bob, I loved the Seventies vibe of the outfit, and she completely out-shined all the floor-skimming gowns. I do love it when actresses take risks on the red carpet and this was the perfect award ceremony among her peers to do just that and I am so glad that it paid off. LOVE it!!!
