Side Effects Premiere: Rooney Mara In Alexander McQueen

Rooney mara mcqueen Side Effects Premiere: Rooney Mara In Alexander McQueen %tag

Who: Rooney Mara

Where: At the premiere of her new flick, ‘Side Effects’ held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, New York

Wearing: An ivory panelled velvet & macramé cape Alexander McQueen dress featuring 3D flower embroidery and long sleeves from the pre-autumn/winter 2013 collection, teamed with nude peep-toe heels

Verdict: This dress looks like it was made for Rooney Mara, it has the drama and intrigue with the panelled velvet and macramé cape, it has a girlie vibe with the 3D embroidered flowers, and it has the couture craftsmanship that you always see with Alexander McQueen.

In the lookbook the dress was presented with a black belt and black booties and I have to be honest I wish she had gone for the additionally styling, for me the nude shoes don’t show off this amazing dress as I would have liked. However, I can see why she didn’t go for the structured belt as without it the look is soften for a premiere.

I do love that she went with a sleek centre-parted hairstyle though as it really works with the dress. Do you wish that she had accessorised this look with the black belt and shoes?

84th Oscars: Rooney Mara In Givenchy Couture

Who: Rooney Mara

Where: At the 84th Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A a panelled cream coloured Givenchy couture gown with mixed laces with multi-layered chiffon lining

Verdict: The buzz about Twitter before I had even seen a picture of Rooney was that she wasn’t wearing black, I think that kind of says how much she wears black. OK so cream isn’t quite a stretch in the colourful department, but it is a start, no matter what colour she wears though she always looks stunning. I can’t believe that she only picked out this gorgeous gown this morning – crazy – but with a figure like hers I am sure she can fit into anything.

Red Carpet: Celebs Work Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012

LVprefall2012 Red Carpet: Celebs Work Louis Vuitton Pre Fall 2012 %tag

Forget spring/summer 2012, pre-fall 2012 collections are all the rage on the red carpet at the moment, and Louis Vuitton has already had three major Hollywood celebs working the exquisite pieces. The collection is filled with gorgeous 60s silhouettes, sparkly sequins, and extravagant luxurious fabrics – it really does have a charm about it.

I think my favourite look so far has to be Rooney Mara’s emerald-green sleeveless pocketed dress at the 27th annual Santa Barbara Film Festival Awards – I love the kick of the skirt around the hips and it is good to see Rooney wearing a splash of colour – even if it is dark green. But I do adore the embellished beauties that Reese Witherspoon and Cate Blanchett – I think that Reese’s emerald-green and black version just pips Cate’s ivory and gold combination.

With no full length gowns I am not expecting many more red carpet appearances, but there are some gorgeous separates, cute princess coats, and beautiful mini-dresses that I am hoping some of my favourite celebrities will wear on their various promotional tours.

These are my three favourite looks – a yellow version of the one that Rooney wore, an exquisite military-detailed black dress, and the forties-inspired dreamy peach day dress with a tulip print on it – I really want to see someone like Zooey Deschanel wear this.

Also special mention has to go to this coat – love the shape, love the detailing, I am sure I am not going to love the price – but hey one can dream!!!
