Golden Globes 2013: Jessica Alba In Oscar de la Renta

Jessica Alba, Golden Globes, Oscar de la Renta, odlr, harry winston

Who: Jessica Alba

Where: At the Golden Globe Awards 2013, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California

Wearing: A strapless melon silk-faille Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a trumpet skirt, sweetheart neckline from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with Jimmy Choo Kalpa platform sandals, a Roger Vivier clutch and an incredible Harry Winston diamond necklace

Verdict: Melon is an interesting description to this dress I would go for coral but hey who am I to argue with Oscar de la Renta. This gown is gorgeous, I love the neckline, the drama of the trumpet skirt and train, and even the colour – it kind of fitting into the nude/light pink trend that swept the Golden Globes red carpet.

But come on surely all eyes are on her neck and that amazing Harry Winston necklace, which according to the press release is valued at $5.8 million – that is serious bling – I bet she has a bodyguard or two keeping an eye on that beauty!!!

The only thing I am not loving has to be that furry clutch – for me it is a little unnecessary – but hey such a tiny thing as everything else is fab including her gorgeous old-Hollywood locks.

Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Amanda Seyfried In Marios Schwab

Who: Amanda Seyfried

Where: At the 18th Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held in Santa Monica, California

Wearing: A cobalt blue Marios Schwab midi dress, featuring an embellished lace bodice and chiffon skirt from the spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with Roger Vivier heels and Lorraine Schwartz earrings

Verdict: Not only are London Fashion Week designers having a red carpet moment in Hollywood this week with Simone Rocha, Peter Pilotto and Julien Macdonald designs being showcased at the People’s Choice Awards this week, but Amanda seems to love London-based designers having worn Alexander McQueen a number of times during the promo tour for Les Misérables.

This look is one of the most fashion-forward dresses on the red carpet last night, I wouldn’t say it was my favourite of the night but I do like that she isn’t afraid to take style risks. I love the colour and the detailing to the bodice, but I would have loved for it to be floor-length, the diamond-shaped hemline doesn’t work for me.

What I do absolutely love is her hair and make-up, from the glossy top-knot to the cat-eyes and nude lips – simply gorgeous.

Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung

Who: Jennifer Lawrence, who was a tripple winner last night, taking home the Best Actress in an Action Movie award for her role in The Hunger Games as well as Best Actress in a Comedy for Silver Linings Playbook, which also won the and Best Ensemble

Where: At the 18th Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held in Santa Monica, California

Wearing: A black Prabal Gurung gown with a sweetheart neckline, draping, and leather detailing as well as a dramatic train from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with a leather belt, Roger Vivier crystal clutch and Chopard jewellery

Verdict: Now this is a gown worthy of the red carpet. I had been getting a little worried about Jennifer’s award season after that aging Valentino gown she wore to the People’s Choice Awards, but this gown is simply gorgeous. I just adore that show-stopping sheer train that looked a little like a cape when she glided down the red carpet.

This look has given me high hopes for the Golden Globes and Oscars, as surely each look is going to get better. This gown for me is dramatic and gorgeous on her, but I am hoping that this is the last black look we see from her this award season, I really want to see her inject some personality and colour into her looks.

Other than the dress her side up-do and red manicure is perfection and I love diamond earrings and bracelet and that clutch is striking.

Even though I love it I want to see more from her as I really think she has the potential to completely wow, do you remember that gold Prabal Gurung gown that she wore to the world premiere of The Hunger Games in Hollywood – well I want more of this.

Cover Loving: It’s Britney Biatch!!!

I don’t hide the fact that I absolutely love Britney, no matter what this girl rocks for me, and I can’t wait to add the October issue of ELLE to my very large collection of Britney Spear magazine covers.

Styled by Joe Zee and shot by Alexi Lubomirski, Britney looks incredible in this studded Versace dress. Granted it isn’t the most original of covers, it isn’t going to push Gwen Stefani’s ELLE UK cover off my best October cover, but I do love how hot Britney looks in these shots.

In the accompanying editorial, the X-Factor judge looks ready to hit the stage in one of the shots as she works The Blonds Swarovski-crystal-embellished bloomers, with a Dolce & Gabbana satin bra, a striking blue Jason Wu leather jacket and cut-out satin Roger Vivier boots. But it was the appearance of her fiancé Jason Trawick that surprised me – I have to say it, they do look cute together.

In the interview Britney chats about her fiancé, how she doesn’t care about the paparazzi anymore, and her laid-back fashion style:

“I love my jeans and my sweats-I’m really just a tomboy at heart. So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup-and hair-ready every time I  go out of my house. I’m not a believer in that, you know? On the other hand, when you do wear those sweats, you’re like, Oh God, I should step it up a notch.”

I can’t wait to pick up this issue – what do you think of Britney’s latest magazine cover?

The Hunger Games: Jennifer Lawrence Goes For Gold Again

Who: Jennifer Lawrence

Where: At the London Premiere of her new film, The Hunger Games at the O2

Wearing: A custom hand-beaded halter-neck Ralph Lauren gown, which shimmered with crocodile-skin pattern, teamed with a black YSL waist belt and Roger Vivier shoes

Verdict: When I heard that Jennifer was wearing gold again, so soon after that breathtaking Prabal Gurung gown, I was a little worried that it would be a little bit déjà vu for her. I have to admit I am still a little undecided.

I love this gown, which apparently took more than 800 hours to hand bead, the shimmering snakeskin effect worked perfectly under the flashbulbs, and the silhouette of this column halter-neck gown is super flattering on her athletic body, but I have to admit it didn’t wow me as much as it could have done if this wasn’t the second metallic number of the week that she had worn.

I wonder if her stylist has arranged another gold number for her trip in Europe? I am hoping to see her in a pop of colour.

What do you think do you like her second gold gown in less than a week?

SAG Awards: Michelle Williams In Valentino

Who: Actress Michelle Williams

Where: At the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A red silk Valentino dress from the pre-fall 2012 collection with lace detailing and a curved shaped hemline, teamed with a gold Lanvin box clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and matching red satin Roger Vivier heels

Verdict: At the Golden Globes I loved her velvet Jason Wu because it was a little different, and even though red is Valentino’s signature style, this dress had a different edge to it with the lace detailing, the curved hem and the gathering to the side. It looks amazing on her and I am so glad that she paired the dress with matching coloured heels as the combination together looks stunning.

Golden Globes: Nicole Kidman In A Studded Versace Gown

Who: Actress Nicole Kidman

Where: At the 69th Annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A light grey figure-hugging Versace gown with metallic embellishments from the spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with Manolo Blahnik heels, a gold Roger Vivier clutch, and Fred Leighton diamond drop earrings

Verdict: Not as much as a show stopper as Angie’s but wow does Nicole look gorgeous in this studded gown, which might I add isn’t part of the H&M collection that some people are saying on Twitter, similar not the same!!! But this is one of the gowns that I actually thought one of the young up-and-coming starlets would wear as it has a edgy vibe to it, however, seeing it on Nicole it looks like it was made for her as it works her slender frame perfectly.

Also can I  point out that Nicole is 44-years-old – seriously does she not age!!!
