AW13 Campaign: Just Cavalli Stages A ‘Love Revolution’

Only Roberto Cavalli and his young, rebellious fashion label, Just Cavalli could stage such a chic and fashionable revolution. The vibrant, emotive scenes for the brand’s autumn/winter 2013 campaign looks like a page out of the sixties where twenty-somethings wore colourful prints and staged a ‘Love not War’ protest, but these gorgeous models are staging a  ‘Love Revolution’ picketing about being ‘Just Young’, ‘Just Naked’ and shouting ‘Just Love’.

The incredible campaign was shot in Barcelona by Giampaolo Sgura and stars a beautiful and chiselled cast of models including Dominik Bauer, Rodolfo Zanforlini, Ben Hunter, Karlina Caune, Julia Frauche and Manon Leloup – I appreciate the ‘Just Naked’ model!!!

Described as “a peaceful protest praising love” this campaign has given everything the Just Cavalli touch from the explosive prints and bright colours of the models wardrobes to flame motifs on the loud hailers‎ – this is one fun campaign.

If There Was a Beyoncé Barbie – She Would Totally Look Like This

This year diva Jennifer Lopez is being honoured with not one but two Barbie dolls, which I can’t wait to see, and when I received this sketch of Beyoncé from Roberto Cavalli this morning, it got me thinking that this is totally what a Beyoncé Barbie doll would look like.

The Italian designer, who hasn’t put his name to a Barbie doll yet, which is a travesty in itself, created this gorgeous multicoloured print dress for Beyoncé’s Mrs Carter world tour and it really is a dress made for Barbie!!!

I think Beyoncé would make a beautiful and sexy Barbie doll and I would love to add her to my collection.

Barbie lovers would you like Mattel to put Beyoncé Barbie into production?

Cannes Film Festival: Roberto Cavalli Transforms Olivia Palermo

It seems that the French Riviera has had an effect on Olivia Palermo or maybe that should be Italian designer Roberto Cavalli has, as it seems that Cannes Film Festival has turned her into a new woman. Always one for a stylish entrance, Olivia Palermo is known for her chic looks, but while in Cannes it seems that she let out the diva inside her with the help of Roberto Cavalli’s signature sexy dresses.

The most surprising of her three Cavalli looks had to be the animal printed gown she wore to the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala. Olivia always looks hot, but I don’t think I have ever seen her wear such a daring or flesh revealing dress with all the cut-outs and that thigh-high split totally rivals Angelina Jolie!!! It is such a departure from her usual red carpet looks and I absolutely loved it – so totally fitting for Cannes and she has the body to pull it off.

While I had to look twice to confirm it was Olivia in the animal printed gown, she seemed more comfortable in the gold sequin halter gown that she wore to the ‘The Immigrant’ premiere accompanied by her hunky boyfriend Johannes Huebl. Still completely Cavalli, this look has more of her signature style with the embellished blazer and her feathered clutch. I not technically sold on the need for the blazer, I think this dress shined all on its own, but it is so her and maybe after showing off a lot of flesh the night before she wanted to stamp her style on Cannes.

Out of the three looks I think I prefer the gold gown on her that dramatic train with the sequins is so Cannes, I just can’t get over the blazer, but I think for the shock and it being so out of her comfort zone that animal printed cut-out dress might be my favourite of her looks, however I do think her embellished long-sleeved mini worn to the designers dinner party is when the socialite is totally at ease – she is even smiling in the piccie!!!

What do you think of Olivia Palermo’s red carpet transformation? Which Roberto Cavalli look is your favourite?

Cannes Film Festival: Kylie Minogue Shines In Roberto Cavalli

Who: Australian popstar Kylie Minogue

Where: At the ‘Les Salauds’ premiere held during the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival

Wearing: An ivory/pale pink embroidered Roberto Cavalli gown with a plunging neckline and a chiffon layered train, teamed with drop earrings and a diamond ring

Verdict: There is something about Kylie, she never seems to age, always does glamour perfectly without being too bling, and she always adds sex appeal to anything she wears.

I simply love this gorgeous Roberto Cavalli gown, I actually think it is one the best I have seen from the designer this film festival, and there have been a lot  **check out all the images off the red carpet on my Facebook page**.

This embroidered gown, which I am not sure if it is an off-white or pale pink – I can’t quite tell from the images, isn’t just beautiful but also perfectly fitted to her petite frame. I love that she went for a train, I adore that she went for a plunging neckline, and I am so pleased that she went for a light shade – she really does look radiant in this gown.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!

Golden Globes 2013: Hayden Panettiere In Roberto Cavalli

Who: Golden Globes nominee Hayden Panettiere

Where: At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California

Wearing: A strapless light pink custom Roberto Cavalli gown with a sweetheart neckline, embellishments, ruched detailing and a mermaid train, teamed with a Barbie pink clutch and a stack of diamond bracelets

Verdict: This is probably one of the most girlie looks at last night’s Golden Globes and that is why it is so perfect for Hayden Panettiere.

This dress is intricate in its details and the mermaid silhouette looks incredible on her – this is one of the best blush coloured gowns for me just because she is so drop dead gorgeous in it.

The only thing that I am not sure about has to be that Barbie pink clutch I think I would have gone for gold to make it look more elegant.

Marrakech Film Festival: Gemma Arterton In Roberto Cavalli

Who: Gemma Arterton

Where: At the Closing Ceremony of the 12th International Marrakech Film Festival in Morocco.

Wearing: A black off-the-shoulder floor length Robero Cavalli gown, teamed with black drop earrings

Verdict: When I first saw this picture I didn’t think the gown was very Cavalli, where is the glitz, the sparkles, and the thigh-high split? But the more I look at Gemma in this simple-yet-elegant gown the more I loved the minimalism.

There is something effortless about this gown that works perfectly for Gemma, it hugs her in all the right places, emphasis her top line with the off-the-shoulder and ruffle detailing at the bust, and it just flows beautifully.

I am sure some people will find this look boring from Gemma but I like it.

What’s your thoughts on this simple Roberto Cavalli gown?

Teen Choice Awards: Kristen Stewart Shines In Roberto Cavalli

Who: Twilight actress Kristen Stewart

Where: At the Teen Choice Awards 2012 held in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A silk printed Roberto Cavalli blazer from the Resort 2013 collection, teamed with a grey tee and leather trousers also by Roberto Cavalli, and finishing off her look were black Christian Louboutin heels

Verdict: Yeah, Kristen embraced her tomboy vibe and wore a rock-chick look on the red carpet, or should I say backstage as she didn’t seem to make the red carpet, but either way I am so happy. We’ve seen her do awkward, quirky, and a little bit scary on the red carpet, but this look is by far the most comfortable I have seen her at an award ceremony, granted it was the tame Teen Choice Awards they’d love her in a bin bag, but still it was good to see.

What makes this masculine look work for me has to be that statement Roberto Cavalli blazer, I love the print, but I love the black lapels even more – this is one hot jacket and goes perfectly with her leather trews.

Adding a girlie vibe to her look was a cute side plait, which kind of reminded me of Alice Dellal, which in turn made me wonder where she has disappeared too – something for another post I am thinking, as well as her fierce Louboutins, her love of wearing Converse could have completely ruined this look.

I bet Kristen’s stylist was loving that all the other young actresses went for vibrant colours and fit and flare style dresses as she really did stand out when reviewing the fashion of this year’s Teen Choice Awards.

So what do you think – did you like Kristen’s style?[Pics: courtesy of Roberto Cavalli]
