Monochrome Magic: Topshop Unique Resort Collection

Monochrome is by far one of my favourite trends and I am so pleased that season, after season it comes back in one form or another. For resort 2014, Topshop Unique has given the black and white colour palette a refresh with hints of mint and textured materials such as raffia and bonded satin and I love the modern feel of the clean lines and graphic prints.

The capsule line is only 15-pieces but wow I want them all – especially this graphic checkerboard raffia two piece above – wow, wow, wow – how cool is that, probably a bit too cool for me to pull off but I love it all the same.

The collection also has softer pieces with gorgeous Bamboo printed silk dresses, mint green tees and tapered trousers. Plus each piece has been made in Britain – seriously what’s not to love!!!

Clothes I Love: Carven Resort 2014

I know that I am a little slow to the party but I have fallen head-over-heels for Parisian brand Carven, especially the label’s Resort 2014 collection, filled with monochrome tropical prints, zigzag jacquards, and a summery colour palette of banana yellow, papaya orange and hibiscus pink – seriously dreamy.

I took these pictures of the collection a few weeks back, you may recognise the lovely models from a previous post on Raquel Allegra’s incredible line, and I just love that they are wearing my two favourite items from the Carven Resort 2014 collection.

The inspiration for the Resort 2014 collection is all about what Carven’s designer Guillaume Henry imagined singer Nina Simone wearing in the early seventies and the black and white snaps taken by Malin photographer Malick Sidibé.

The result – gorgeous tailored separates and shifts, vibrant prints, pops of colour, and exquisite accessories – the round orange bag is definitely a favourite.

Label Loving: Californian Brand Raquel Allegra

I love discovering new fashion labels to adore, the latest on my wish list is Californian label Raquel Allegra, there is just something about her relaxed, pared-down, slightly distressed pieces that I currently need in my life.

Introduced to the label at Rainbowwave’s Resort 14 luncheon a few weeks back, where I also fell in love with Australian jewellery designer Lucy Folk, I was just blown away by the Californian label’s slouchy silhouettes.

It isn’t just me it seems that loves the label known for its shredding technique, everyone from Heidi Klum to the Sandra Bullock, the Olsen twins, and Hillary Duff have been spotted wearing pieces from Raquel Allegra’s collections. It is her ability to mix great off-duty pieces with gorgeous tailoring and a subtle colour palette that has made her a cult favourite.

For Resort 2014,  that I saw up close, I wanted generally all of it, from the playful paint-splashed t-shirts and jackets, to the loose and gorgeously faded leopard print two-piece tailored suit – that oversized blazer is just a beauty, and the striped floral suit is just one of the many statement looks from an amazing collection.

I could see myself wearing pieces from the collection, like I would love to pair the stripy blazer with a white tee and boyfriend jeans for fashion week, or wear the leopard printed linen pants with a chunky cropped jumper, and I think I would wear her shredded tees all-day, everyday they just look so comfie. All I could think about when I was checking out the collection was who wouldn’t want to add a touch of California cool to their wardrobe!!!

Clothes I Love: Moschino Cheap and Chic Resort 2014 Collection

I have been lusting over the Moschino Cheap and Chic pre-spring/summer 2014 collection for a few weeks now, trying to decide which pieces were my favourite, its hard when I love all the sherbet colours, the daisy prints, the lace detailing, and the quirky handbags.

Inspired by the 60s/70s, I just love the candy-coated world of Moschino’s Cheap and Chic resort collection, where the clothes are oh so ladylike in their detailing, whether it’s a touch of lace around the collar, adorable puff shelves, or a piano fringed hemline, this collection is divine.

As well as the girlie dresses, the statement printed coat, and the lace overlay skirt, the collection is also filled with floral printed trousers, crochet maxi dresses, and adorable blouses. It is kind of mixes two personalities – the flowers in her hair festival chick with a romantic, feminine ladylike character. It is this clash of personality that gives this charming girlie collection an added care-free attitude, which totally comes through in the accessories and styling with the cool open-toe mesh booties, the daisy adorned biker boots, mirrored aviators and quirky handbags.

Not only do I love/want all the clothes, especially the dresses, I also adore the bags, which are amazing and quirky with my three stand outs being the oversized Menu clutch that is reminiscence of the statement Charlotte Olympia and Olympia Le-Tan clutches, as well as the daisy and watering can shoulder bags.

Oh to be a Moschino Cheap and Chic gal!!!
