LFW Day 3: My Style – Kate Mouse Hits Fashion Week

MyStyleDay3LFW4 LFW Day 3: My Style Kate Mouse Hits Fashion Week %tag

I can’t believe it is Sunday already, this has been one of the busiest London Fashion Weeks for me and I am so happy as I do love the buzz of a catwalk show and all the drama and socialising that goes with it. Whereas Saturday is official being re-named ‘the day that rains’, today the sun is shining, which means I could finally get my sunglasses out.

Quiet day for me today, I have a number of shows in but I have only done one, the Prophetic show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, so I can catch up on editing my images and bringing you all the news from the first two days, seriously I have a lot of stuff to share, and generally taking a breather before the madness that is my Monday schedule.

Today’s look is kind of casual, mainly because I was only around for a few hours, but also one of my favourite looks so far. I do love a good maxi skirt and this is one of my most comfortable and surprisingly long enough ones from New Look; I paired it with my Simeon Farrar t-shirt, Long Tall Sally leather jacket, and finishing off the look is my Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag.

You know I love t-shirts, well my Simeon Farrar printed Kate Mouse tee is fast becoming one of my favourites and most versatile pieces, I really just love it and couldn’t resist working it to fashion week.

Fashion week wouldn’t be complete without getting out my trust blue Rebecca Minkoff, this bag is one of my all time favs not only is it a great colour to add a pop to my mainly black wardrobe, but it is also an ideal size for all my belongings. Today I have paired my RM with my new zebra printed New Look scarf, I was wearing to keep the chill off but I love attaching scarves to bags and I thought this worked well.

Finishing off my look today are my Calvin Klein sunglasses, when it comes to dark frames I am more of a dark brown than black type of gal and these are my wear anywhere and everywhere glasses. LFW really does look better in the sun!!!

Gift Guide: For Bag Lovers

giftguidebags Gift Guide: For Bag Lovers %tag

For my second gift guide I have decided to make it all about bags, basically because I adore handbags and these nine beauties are my favourite picks at the moment. Whether you are buying yourself a festive treat or you need to hint big time at your loved ones – these bags will make perfect gifts.

1. Rebecca Minkoff, Circle Quilt Casanova, $395, Rebeccaminkoff.com – I am a huge RM fan and I am lucky enough to have two of her bags, and on my regular scout of her site I saw this chic-yet-edgy quilted leather bag. Worried about postage? Well don’t as RM offers free delivery on orders over $300.

2. Osprey London, The Zambezi, £295, Ospreylondon.com – A great British brand and I love this jaguar-print cross body bag, for me this bag is all about that gorgeous vintage-inspired shape.

3. Tamzin Lillywhite, Boreas Back Pack£420 - a new brand to me, but with beauties like this I can soon imagine that Tamzin is going to become one of my favourite designers; also back packs are having a bit of a fashion revival so this sleek one is perfection.

4. Lollipops, Lascar Doobie, £69, lollipopsparis.co.uk – this is a cute bag, seriously what’s not to love about this wooly reindeer bucket-style bag?

5. Lulu Guinness Red Swarovski Crystallized Lips Clutch, £650, luluguinness.com – wouldn’t be a Christmas wish list without some festive LG lips now would it!!! I adore this iconic clutch – each year I keep my fingers cross that one appears under the Christmas tree.

6. Marc Jacobs, Lindy, £620, Harrods.com - the Lindy family of bags is new for autumn/winter 2011 and I just love this quilted shoulder bag, with its bow and stud detailing to the front, also this beauty would work during the day as well as night.

7. Mulberry Alexa Camera Bag, £650, Johnlewis.com – this bag has a 70s vibe about it and as with all Mulberry bags – think of this as an investment!!

8. Karen Millen, Crystal Clutch, £295, Selfridges – this seasonal sparkle is exclusive to Selfridges and the crystal-encrusted detailing and wristlet makes it a perfect party bag.

9. Bag Snob for DKNY, The Clutch, £175, Net-a-Porter.com – got to support blogger collaborations, especially when they are this good from Bag Snob founders Tina Craig and Kelly Cook who have designed an essential clutch. I just love this sequined leather number – a perfect evening choice.

Where: At the CMA after party

Wearing: Rebecca Minkoff’s Frida black lace v-neck dress from the autumn/winter 2011 collection

Verdict: I love a little black dress and this Rebecca Minkoff one is so cute with its peek-a-boo sheer lace panels. I think what I love most is the vintage vibe of this dress with the lace detailing, the batwing sleeves and that gorgeous flared skirt. This really is a great after party look and Taylor Swift is perfection in it.

My Style: London Fashion Week – Day 1

P9160235 My Style: London Fashion Week Day 1 %tag

I always find fashion week extremely stressful when it comes to choosing what to wear, and generally it involves a last minute dash shopping the day before. That is how this outfit came about. The dress is from Debenhams Edition collection by Jonathan Saunders and I just loved the fit of it as well as the school-girl heavy pleats. It was quite warm yesterday and this dress is quite heavy and fully lined but I felt comfortable in it.

I paired my dark blue shift dress with geometric print at the top and nipped in at the waist with a skinny belt, teamed with my trusty Rebecca Minkoff, it is like my security blanket, and my Russell and Bromley patent brogues, flats were in order as I had a lot of walking between venues.

Thanks to the fab Abi Marvel for taking my picture, apologies for how unphotogenic I actual am!!

Inspired by the gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana star print dress from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, seen recently on the September Marie Claire cover and Glamour’s August issue, I have put together my fav star and sparkle items.

Bag Loving: Rebecca Minkoff At Harvey Nichols

RMharveynics Bag Loving: Rebecca Minkoff At Harvey Nichols %tag

Not sure how long Harvey Nichols has been stocking Rebecca Minkoff but I am glad that they are, as I found this gorgeous Circle Quilt Sling Bag online. If you have woken up today thinking how can I get chocolate off my mind, why not treat yourself to an Easter handbag rather than an Easter Egg!!!

I adore this circle quilted leather handbag, as it really as an attitude about it; with its all over stud embellishment, double chain and fabric shoulder strap, detachable tassle, and an amazing print lining that Rebecca Minkoff is renowned for. Granted it is a little more pricer than an Easter Egg at £350, but seriously worth it, just think how many outfits this gorgeous bag would compliment.

Also what I love about this bag is that it isn’t too small or too big, it is everything that I would want in a kick-arse shoulder-strap bag; it would work well with skinny jeans and a tee, a maxi dress, and even a great contrast against a girlie flower print dress.

So many possibilities with this bag, now all I need to do is convince my bank balance!!!!

AW11 Press Day: Rebecca Minkoff = Bag Heaven

rmaw3web AW11 Press Day: Rebecca Minkoff = Bag Heaven %tag

I know fashion month has only just come to an end, but the brands are already getting their autumn/winter 2011 collections out for a second look at their press days. Last season, one of my favourite appointments was to meet Rebecca Minkoff, and see her wonderful handbag and shoe ranges, so when I was invited back I jumped at the chance.

I had to sadly cancel my return to Paris Fashion Week to see Elie Saab as once their show move to the afternoon slot I had a clash, but hey it was worth it. The Rebecca Minkoff press day was once again set in the amazing Sanderson Hotel, London, and I have to admit this is one of my favourite hotels, mainly because the of the amazing lifts which are a 3D space scene *each time I try and take a picture, and each time it looks wierd*.

rmaw4web AW11 Press Day: Rebecca Minkoff = Bag Heaven %tag

I love handbags, and I love shoes, so checking out Rebecca Minkoff’s AW11 collection was a dream. Sadly, this time I didn’t get to meet Rebecca as she was out when I came in for my appointment, but it didn’t make it any less special seeing handbags scattered around the suite.

The PR did showcase Rebecca’s new luxury line first, but with it being adorned with rabbit fur, I was quick to move onto the rest of the collection. As no matter how much I love a label I can’t cope with fur on handbags, seriously do you really need to keep your bag warm??? No!!!

Let’s move onto what I loved. As always Rebecca always offers something for everyone, from boxy handbags that fit everything in, to large clutches to make any evening attair chic, to drawstring bucket bags, and gorgeous quilted bright numbers. I am always drawn to the textures of a RM bag, with the studs, zips, tassels, quilting, chains and fan pleated detailing, I really want every piece!!

My favourite has to be this ‘boy toy’ bag, I love it in classic black, but that dark raspberry shade is so hot it really has gone to the top of my autumn/winter wish-list.
