Oscars 2015: Gwyneth Paltrow In Ralph & Russo

Who: Gwyneth Paltrow

Where: At the 87th Annual Academy Awards held at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, California

Wearing: A custom pale pink, one-shoulder Ralph & Russo couture gown with an oversized rose detail on the shoulder, teamed with Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie jewellery

Verdict: Gwyneth Paltrow always has major moments at the Oscars, remember her caped Tom Ford a few years ago and her gorgeous pink Ralph Lauren she wore to pick up her Oscar? Well I think this is another memorable gown, as one again she pulls off feminine beauty to perfection.

This gown is actually an altered version of one that went down the SS15 couture runway, it had a little more drama, but I actually think this beauty with the one-shoulder and oversized rose detail is perfect for the Oscars and she wears it off beautifully.

This is just elegant, glamorous, and I love that she went for the dramatic, oversized diamond-encrusted earrings to finish off her look.

Haute Couture SS15: 10 Beautiful Wedding Gowns

zuhair-murad-ss15-coutureThe beauty of Haute Couture is the glamour, the knowledge that the garments take hundreds of hours to produce, mostly by hand, nearly all bespoke, and always with no real budget in mind, it is why I love it so much as it is basically pure fantasy, and it’s the wedding gowns that inspire the most.

I think this has been one of the best Paris Haute Couture Week’s for a while, truly inspiring craftsmanship that really showcased the best in forward-thinking designs, and the bridal gowns were just exquisite. Elie Saab always inspires brides with his beaded beauties, but I’ve also included gorgeous, dramatic and sexy gowns by Zuhair Murad, Ralph & Russo, Versace, and a contemporary, quirky gown designed by Jean Paul Gaultier that if I had seen it before my own wedding I think I would have totally fallen in love with that tiered tulle skirt.

So if you are currently on the hunt for your perfect wedding gown, why not take inspiration from these 10 gorgeous bridal gowns:

Wedding Inspiration: The Princess Couture Bride

Ralph-and-Russo-bride-2

My wedding is coming up in three months, I already have my two gowns **I know I am greedy**, and generally most details are sorted but that doesn’t mean I don’t swoon over dramatic couture bridal gowns like this one designed by Ralph & Russo.

I think all girls dream of a fairy tale princess dress like this, why wouldn’t you it is simply beautiful, it’s the dress you wish for a lottery win, a sugar daddy or a fairy godmother. I don’t know how much a gown like this would cost, a lot for sure, especially as it took 3,900 hours to do all the hand embroidery – details like that not only make this one special gown but one with a hefty price tag.

But it’s the details of this dress that I truly adore, the 40 different types of beads, the 25 different Swarovski crystal designs, the 6 metre train, and the fact that it needed the help of 5 male models to help the beautiful Hanna Ben Abdesslem turn on the runway.

I just can’t express how exquisite I think this couture bridal gown is, I love everything from the luxurious embroidery to the volume in the skirt and the hand-printed Chantilly-lace effect, I think it is because it marries the modern and traditional bride so well. Now where is my fairy godmother when I need her!!!

To really see the beauty of this gown watch the short film below, the couture bridal gown really shimmers and those details really shine through. Love, love, love it – now this is a wow bridal dress. I am already jealous of the bride who gets to get married in this beauty.

Do you love Ralph & Russo’s couture bridal gown as much as I do?

World War Z: Angelina Jolie Returns To The Red Carpet

angelina-z-world-tour

Angelina Jolie has always been one of my favourite red carpet stars, granted she doesn’t always get it right, sometimes she takes the drama of the dress a little too far, I am talking about her right leg pose at the Oscars in 2012, but no matter what she keeps you wanting more.

Well this week, less than three weeks since she announced that she had undergone a preventive double mastectomy, Angie was back on the red carpet with Brad Pitt as he promotes his new movie World War Z, and since Sunday she has wowed London, Paris and Berlin.Angelina-brad-London-For London the star went black, simple and elegant in a gorgeous Saint Laurent gown. I just love how even when she is working an understated look she still looks fabulous and I love the sheer panelled bodice.

Keeping with black, Paris was another Saint Laurent look, this time a suit, I just love the contrast of the masculine tailoring with the feminine bow necktie on the blouse.

Angelina-parisAngelina-brad-paris Angelina-berlinMy favourite of her looks so far has to be this gorgeous custom strapless Ralph & Russo creation that she wore to the Berlin premiere, isn’t it divine. I am in love with the structured bodice and the rose gold accents to the waist – this is one exquisite look from Angelina and one of her best in a while.

I love everything about this look from the colour to the sculptural peplum, this is an elegant look paired with all the attitude an A-list actress should bring to the red carpet. I am so pleased that she kept her accessories minimal, pairing with just white heels and barley-there make-up.

Which look is your favourite?

Also, is it just me or have Angie and Brad coordinated hair styles? London – they both have their flowing locks down, followed by sleeked back and up in Paris, and back to long in Berlin.Angelina-brad-berlin Angelina-berlin-[Pics: courtesy of Paramount/Getty Images by David M Bennet, Pascal Le Segretain, & Andreas Rentz]

Window Dressing By Ralph and Russo

Ahead of the LFW madness it seems Coutts has decided to dress up its headquarters on The Strand with a gorgeous red silk crepe strapless ballroom gown designed by Ralph & Russo. I just love how fashion can really make you smile and this certainly does brighten up any financial institute – I also love the styling of the window with the mirrors.
