Met Gala 2012: Karolina Kurkova In Rachel Zoe

Who: Karolina Kurkova

Where: At the Met Gala 2012 in New York

Wearing: A long-sleeved fitted gold sequinned custom-made Rachel Zoe gown, with an open back, teamed with a matching gold sequinned turban, and gold clutch

Verdict: This is one breathtaking gown and look, which could have only been pulled together by stylist extraordinary and now designer Rachel Zoe. One of the main reasons why I love the Met Gala nearly as much as the Oscars is because the models work the red carpet rather than the catwalk, and they always seem to pull off impossible looks, and Karolina proves in this gorgeous Rachel Zoe creation that she is one amazing model.

I love this look from head to toe, the whole look is just so over the top, but that’s the point the Met Gala is the biggest fashion event of the year if you can’t make a splash at this event where can you? I think Karolina works the gold statuette look amazingly, this is without a doubt one of my best looks, I completely adore it!!!

One last thing though – am I the only one that instantly thought of Kate Moss from the 2009 Met Gala wearing Marc Jacobs when they saw Karolina hit the red carpet? Obviously not identical, but maybe Rachel’s pal Marc inspired the creation.

Numeros Prives: Chanel Jets Celebs To Las Vegas

Over the weekend French fashion house Chanel jetted out their fav models, actresses, singers, stylists and high-profile journos to Las Vegas to celebrate the launch of the Numeros Prives exhibition at the Wynn hotel. No expense was spared – private jets, Chanel-decked chauffeured cars, lots of disco balls and even a Chanel vending machine!!!

My favourite of the celebrities had to be the gorgeous Diane Kruger who looked stunning in an iridescent sequin embroidered Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection. Granted this isn’t an amazing picture the beaded curtain kind of looks a little like the dress but I adore the high neck and the shimmering effect of the sequins.

Another amazing look was from Jessica Alba, who I have to admit I was wondering whether it was Rachel’s or Brad’s styling, as they were both there. I think she looked stunning in this monochrome silk Chanel dress from the 2012 Cruise collection, teamed with Chanel fine jewellery – that white gold, black ceramic and diamond encrusted cuff is just divine.

I find this image that Alexa tweeted a little surreal as I have also had my picture taken next to the giant Chanel 2.55 bag – when the exhibition was inside Harrods. It was also nice to see Alexa wearing a little colour in this pale blue boucle mini Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection – I just love the buttons down the front.

Christmas Card: Kardashian Klan Work Bow Ties

I am not sure what my fascination is with the Kardashian-Jenner-Odom-Disick Klan, but I have to admit I do look forward to seeing their Christmas card, mainly because they really do go all out. This year the family decided to work monochrome and bow ties in a very chic-yet-moody masculine vibe, with one except and that of course had to be Kris who stands in the centre in her gorgeous teal Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Styled by Monica Rose for the third year running, the theme was ‘a bit girl meets boy’ and I kind of like it. Bow ties are always very chic, and I do think women in tuxedos looks hot, and even the men of the family look amazing, including a very confident looking Rob in his Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo.

The stand outs for me of course have to be Kim in that gorgeous sequinned Rachel Zoe blazer, teamed with wide-leg Chloe trousers and a Jill Pineda black faux leather bow tie. With Kim standing alone it does make me wonder if they had to photoshoot poor Kris Humpries out!!!!

Kylie and Kendall also worked it!!! I love that even though there was a masculine theme, and only Kris could work colour, Kendall the model of the family was able to wear that stunning Theyskens’ Theory gown – completely showed of her fab figure, while still maintaining the tuxedo feel. Her sister Kylie looks gorgeous in a Paula Ka tuxedo, my fav look of the girls in tuxs – using black ribbon as her bow tie is just genius!!! What this card and their looks really showed to me is that 2012 is going to be all about the Jenner sisters!!

Not to be out-done by sister Kim, Khloe also rocked a sequinned tuxedo jacket this time by Dolce & Gabbana – I think her pants win though as I do love Lanvin tuxedo trousers. Sad though as Khloe is the only one not working a bow tie – a sequinned beauty to match her jacket would have looked amazing.

But with every family portrait there is always one trying too hard and this year it has to be Kourtney – what was she thinking with those sheer socks??? It is a shame really as if she had worked that gorgeous Nikki Rich bolero, Muubaa leather skirt and Dolce & Gabbana bow tie with some sparkly Miu Miu heels – and ditched the belt, her look may have been one of the best. However, it seems she has been up-staged by a very moody Mason.

As much as I like this card, I do wonder why they are all looking so glum on a Christmas card – and seriously what the hell are they all staring at???!!!???

Oh and I nearly forgot this year’s Christmas card shot by Nick Saglimbeni doesn’t just come in 2D, nope the card what also snapped in 3D and sent out with special 3D glasses – how will they out-do that next year?

83rd Oscars: Anne Hathaway – All The Looks

Well Anne Hathaway and Rachel Zoe really did show around the love last night with her designer wardrobe last night for her hosting duties at the 83rd Academy Awards.

We had the gorgeous red Valentino to walk the red carpet, the cream Givenchy Couture gown to open the show, followed by one of my favourite looks the Lanvin tux teamed with those amazing sparkly Brian Atwood heels, and then we had a stream of amazing gowns: a corseted Vivienne Westwood, a fringed Oscar de la Renta, a beaded Atelier Versace, a space age Armani Prive, and then ended with a smoky grey Tom Ford.

I think my favourite three looks have to be the Versace, closely followed by the Armani and then the Lanvin tux.

What did you think was her best look?
