The Oscars might be one of the most prestigious nights of the award season, one in which you would expect celebrities to pull out all the stops, however, it seems that the best fashion seems to nearly always happen at the Oscars 2016 After Party, namely the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. I’ve picked out my six best looks from Diane Kruger in a sexy sheer and fringed Reem Acra gown to Kerry Washington who changed out of her leather Atelier Versace look into a daring, racier gown, Nina Dobrev in the prettiest Elie Saab number and Elizabeth Banks in a beautiful caped
The Golden Globes kicked off the award season last week and this weekend was the Critics’ Choice Awards turn, and for me, the red carpet was a battle of who wore burgundy better between – Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab and Krysten Ritter in Zuhair Murad. Yep I’ve called these gowns burgundy, I know I could have been all fussy and gone with garnet, oxblood or even maroon, but you know what I like the word burgundy, as well as seeing the dark moody hue on the red carpet, which really is a rarity, so seeing it twice in one night made me take
Who: Rachel McAdams Where: At the Midnight in Paris screening last night in NYC Wearing: An ivory silk leopard jacquard Louis Vuitton gown with a thigh-high split, teamed with black heels Verdict: This is another gorgeous look from Rachel, I adore the Marchesa she wore in Cannes, and I was wowed by her Grecian Michael Kors look earlier in the year, and I have to admit this is another amazing gown. I think that Rachel really does sexy really well, she is working this thigh-high split to perfection, the only downside has to be the shoes I think strappy would have completed
Who: Rachel McAdams Where: At the Midnight in Paris Movie Premiere in Cannes, France Wearing: An embroidered red illusion Marchesa dress with applique cascade skirt and shoulder Verdict: At first glance I thought this was Melissa George – is it just me? This is a gorgeous Marchesa gown, full of intricate detailing, sex appeal and such a gorgeous addition with the sheer train. This is a statement out dress that will take some beating for best dress of the festival. [Pic: via Marchesa]
Who: Rachel McAdams Where: At the Morning Glory UK premiere at the Empire Leicester Square in London Wearing: A Suno Suspender dress from the spring/summer 2011 collection paired with deep purple Charlotte Olympia heels Verdict: Wow what a dress!! I loved her scarlet red Michael Kors dress she wore in Berlin, but this is a cute-yet-sexy number and she really pulls off that plunging neckline. I was first introduced to this label when Michelle Williams wore in Cannes, and it really is the go-to label when you are after a mini-dress with charm-yet-sex appeal.
