Blog Loving: Things You May Have Missed On Fashionista Barbie

NinaDobrev2 Blog Loving: Things You May Have Missed On Fashionista Barbie %tag

Normally I do blog loving post for blogs that I have enjoyed that week, however with my crazy stressful week I have to admit that I haven’t had time to read other blogs, I have been consumed with my redesign. Due to all the changes, the downtime, and generally my quiet presence on Twitter this week I thought I would share some of my blogs from the past week or so, as well as discussing my fav Met Gala looks as I didn’t seem to get chance.

Met Gala

There are a lot of Met Gala blog posts, it was a great event filled with metallics, plenty of feathers, Gothic beauties, fruity shades, sexy backs, and lots of sparkles. I have to admit I have found it hard to narrow it down to my top five looks but here goes:

1. Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan Atelier (pictured above) – it was a hard choice between Nina and Karolina, but even though that sparkly Rachel Zoe gown was breathtaking, I am just loving Nina’s choices at the moment and this is a gorgeous custom-made gown, and another great look from Donna Karan.

2. Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe - no one does OTT better than Rachel Zoe is what I used to say about her celebrity styling, and now it is true for her designs as well, this is a gorgeous gold number.

3. Diane Kruger in Prada - I really don’t think Diane can wear a bad look, this purple gown wasn’t what I was expecting, and that is why I adored it.

4. January Jones In Atelier Versace – everything from the colour, the mirrored panels, the structured hips and her sleek hair meant this had to be in my top five!!!

5. Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada – I feel bad leaving Emma Stone, Victoria Justice, Jessica Stam and even Rosie, but I just loved the embellished pockets on Gwyneth’s mini that I just couldn’t leave it out.

Who got your top five vote?

Before all the glamour of the Met Gala I shared my thoughts about the colours of Benetton and how surprised I was about what the store has to offer. I am interested to know what you all think about Benetton, visiting the store really changed my opinion on the brand.

Another shopping must has to be the new TOMS pop-up in Covent Garden, I wore my new floral wedges yesterday and they were so comfortable.

I am obsessed with posting pictures of cool windows around town, everything from Mulberry’s zoo to Louis Vuitton’s carousel, and even Jack Wills‘ Stella McCartney copy has been featured lately.

Plus the big news over the last week has to be my new look, and I would love to know what you all think.

I think if you check out all these blog posts you will definitely be up-to-date with all Fashionista Barbie news, and I promise lots of new content is coming!!!

Project 365: Day 133 – Cambridge Cream Tea

Day133 Project 365: Day 133 Cambridge Cream Tea %tag

Today, was the best remedy for such a shocking week, a day spent exploring Cambridge with friends, it was just such a fun and enjoyable day. We didn’t do anything too strenuous except walk for miles, we took in the sites, admired the architecture, took lots of photographs, climbed a tower, chuckled at people attempting to punt, and finished off the day with the best afternoon tea I have had in years.

Project 365: Day 132 – Anyone Else Think These Look Familiar?

Day132 Project 365: Day 132 Anyone Else Think These Look Familiar? %tag

Check out the new window display from Jack Wills, I wonder if they also loved Stella McCartney’s flower power heads display from last year??? As soon as I saw them I thought back to Stella’s windows from February last year, which were so striking – what do you think imitation is the best form of flattery or that they should have been a little more original?

Project 365: Day 129 – I Want A LV Carousel

Day129 Project 365: Day 129 I Want A LV Carousel %tag

If you haven’t already guessed I loved window displays, whether it is all the gorgeous designers on Bond Street, or at Liberty’s and Selfridges, I just love the work of visual merchandisers, and it doesn’t get much better than the current windows at Louis Vuitton. Each window is a different horse from the LV Carousel and it is just gorgeous to see, I would love to ride on the Louis Vuitton carousel!!!

Project 365: Day 126 – The Mulberry Zoo Windows

Day126 Project 365: Day 126 The Mulberry Zoo Windows %tag

Everytime I see a new window at Mulberry’s New Bond Street store I stand and stare, seriously insane visual merchandising, which instantly adds a smile to my face.

We all know this a cool brand from its incredible fashion week presentations, the stunning ad campaigns, the fact that it names its bags after the fashionable popular girls, and the amazing parties they seem to throw, and what I love is that the brand ethos seems to trickle down into every section of the business and this is certain evident in their zoo themed window display at the moment.

Are you a fan of Mulberry’s windows?

I love it when a weekly food shop introduces me to such a pretty Barbie. This Paul Frank Barbie was an exclusive to Target in America and now it seems Tescos have the privelege in the UK. She most certainly is as Cute as a Button and I have to hunt down her friend who has the cutest monkey handbag.
