Who: Jennifer Lawrence

Where: At the 13th Annual AFI Awards Luncheon held in Los Angeles

Wearing: A black wool crepe sheath dress by Prabal Gurung featuring metallic and neon tweed inserts to the bodice and skirt and peplum detailing at the hips from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with black, white and Barbie pink ankle strap Casadei for Prabal Gurung heels and a Jill Milan clutch

Verdict: Well we’ve had it all from Jennifer this week on the red carpet, ranging from a very shaking/ageing look at the People’s Choice Awards to the much improved dramatic black gown at the Critics’ Choice Awards and now she has given us this gorgeous multicoloured sheath dress that I truly adore.

This is her second look from Prabal Gurung’s pre-fall 2013 collection this week and I am simply in love with it, as finally she gives us a splash of colour. This dress is not only stunning but looks incredible on her, the black panel is super flattering, but come on we have to talk about those incredible shoes – OMG I am in love these are works of art.

This look has finally made me really excited to see Jennifer walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes tomorrow. What about you do you love this look?

Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung

Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung %tag
Who: Jennifer Lawrence, who was a tripple winner last night, taking home the Best Actress in an Action Movie award for her role in The Hunger Games as well as Best Actress in a Comedy for Silver Linings Playbook, which also won the and Best Ensemble

Where: At the 18th Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held in Santa Monica, California

Wearing: A black Prabal Gurung gown with a sweetheart neckline, draping, and leather detailing as well as a dramatic train from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with a leather belt, Roger Vivier crystal clutch and Chopard jewellery

Verdict: Now this is a gown worthy of the red carpet. I had been getting a little worried about Jennifer’s award season after that aging Valentino gown she wore to the People’s Choice Awards, but this gown is simply gorgeous. I just adore that show-stopping sheer train that looked a little like a cape when she glided down the red carpet.

This look has given me high hopes for the Golden Globes and Oscars, as surely each look is going to get better. This gown for me is dramatic and gorgeous on her, but I am hoping that this is the last black look we see from her this award season, I really want to see her inject some personality and colour into her looks.

Other than the dress her side up-do and red manicure is perfection and I love diamond earrings and bracelet and that clutch is striking.

Even though I love it I want to see more from her as I really think she has the potential to completely wow, do you remember that gold Prabal Gurung gown that she wore to the world premiere of The Hunger Games in Hollywood – well I want more of this.

Cover Loving: Models Continue To Shine On The September Issues

SeptemberIssueModels Cover Loving: Models Continue To Shine On The September Issues %tag

I love celebrities and I do love seeing celebrities on magazine covers, yep even I have been persuaded to buy a magazine just because my favourite actress is on the cover, but I have to be honest I do love it when models take covers, more so when it is a September issue – as they are the fashion issues of the year.

It seems that this September the supermodels really are taking over and producing some amazing covers. I have already shown you ELLE UK’s gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, well the subscriber cover dropped through my letterbox over the weekend and I am so pleased they showcased her incredible pins!!! Well it seems that more magazines around the world understand the power of a model – Flare, Canada’s biggest fashion magazine has gone for Lindsey Wixson, Vogue UK and Japan both went for Karlie Kloss, Tokyo Numero have the lovely Candice Swanepoel, and Tatler shows that Cindy Crawford can still work it.

One of my favourite covers so far for September has to be Flare’s gold rush with Lindsey Wixson wearing a coat, top and skirt from Prabal Gurung’s autumn/winter 2012 collection, with incredible Laruicci earrings and a super pop of red lippy.

What I love about this cover, other than the obvious – her striking beauty, I still can’t believe that she is only 18-years-old, but that Flare didn’t go for one of the obvious, high-spending advertisers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton or Gucci – it is always refreshing to see, especially with a September issue.

I was expecting a lot from British Vogue, September as they state themselves is ‘Fashion’s Olympic moment’, but for me this vibrant  seventies-inspired look doesn’t quite cut it for me. Shot by Nick Knight, I love the Jonathan Saunders high-waisted gold printed skinny trousers teamed with a clashing printed silk shirt, but I am put off by Karlie’s pose, I am not sure Tara would approve, and I really dislike the orange and pink text – just too much.

I think I am going to have to give it to Vogue Japan, their September issue featuring Karlie in an Yves Saint Laurent chainmail dress is divine. I love the moody feel to this cover, the white background works perfectly with the smoky tones and of course it wouldn’t be Japanese without the text overload. Everything from the styling to the make-up to her pose and the text works on this cover shot by Mikael Jansson.

Special mention has to go to Cindy Crawford, how stunning does she look for Tatler, she really doesn’t age I couldn’t believe that she is 46 – she is giving these younger models a run for their money!!!

Have you been impressed with the September covers so far? Do let me know which ones are your favourites.

The Dark Knight Rises: Anne Hathaway In Prabal Gurung

AnneHathawayBatman1 The Dark Knight Rises: Anne Hathaway In Prabal Gurung %tag

Who: Anne Hathaway

Where: At the world premiere of The Dark Knight Rises at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City

Wearing: A white jersey Prabal Gurung gown with a plunging v-neckline, an exposed cotton tulle corset, a peplum, and a cowl back from the Resort 2013 collection, finished off perfectly with diamond-stud earrings and a silver bracelet

Verdict: Anne Hathaway really is a striking beauty, I have to be honest I wasn’t keen on her pixie crop I know it was for a part, but it didn’t captivate me as much as when Emma Watson went for the chop. That was until now, this is the best I have seen her, she really looks stunning in this divine Prabal Gurung gown.

Normally I am not sure about white dresses they really can be a little too bridal for me on the red carpet, but there isn’t anything I don’t like about this dress – I adore the plunging neckline, the cowl draping to the back, and most of all I love the on-trend peplum detailing – this look just blew me away!!!

I am glad she didn’t go crazy with her accessories, simple jewellery totally works with this gown, but what I am pleased to see is that her make-up artist Kate Lee went for gorgeous pink lips – really finished off the look perfectly.

Just signing off this post and I remembered that Jennifer Lawrence also wore Prabal Gurung to her world premiere for The Hunger Games – he really is having a good year.

Do you rate Anne’s look?

The Hunger Games: Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung

jenniferlawrencePrabal The Hunger Games: Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung %tag

Who: Katniss Everdeen aka the gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence

Where: At the world premiere of The Hunger Games in Hollywood

Wearing: A gold lame Prabal Gurung gown with cut-out detailing to the sides, an open back and a thigh-high split from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with Jimmy Choo heels and Jacob & Co. black diamond earrings

Verdict: Yeah, I am so glad that someone has worn this dress, I did pick this beauty for the Oscars and wondered why no one wore it and now I know why Jennifer’s team must have nabbed it straight off the runway and I am so glad they did.

As the star of the film it is only right that Jennifer was the best dressed at the world premiere, this dress really is her wow moment and the futuristic metallic sheen is perfect for this hyped movie, and looks gorgeous against her skin, her dark nails, smoky eyes and a loose bun – simply divine.

For me the front is spectacular with its daring cut-out detailing to the sides and the thigh-high split, but for me this dress is all about the back – seriously hot!!!

This is only the first stop on The Hunger Games tour and it has already blown me away – I am even more excited for the rest of the promo tour – I am expecting greatness.

One Hot Pig: Miss Piggy Is Hot To Trot

misspiggy1 One Hot Pig: Miss Piggy Is Hot To Trot %tag

I have never really been a Muppets fan, well except of the exquisite style of one Miss Piggy, and I am loving that InStyle US are celebrating her first on-screen appearance in 12 years with an eight-page spread.

Hitting newsstands on Friday, the November issue Miss Piggy editorial is filled with custom-made designs by the likes of Prabal Gurung (pictured above), Jason Wu (below), Brian Atwoood, Suno, Opening Ceremony, and Giles & Brother. I love the white Prabal Gurung design as it is a classic, and the signature Jason Wu feathers, but the one there I am most excited about seeing has to be Suno, I am expected a vibrant print dress.

What I found really funny when looking at WWD’s coverage of this editorial is that they called Miss Piggy a ‘plus size’ how crazy is that – she is a muppet for god sake!!

Also keep your eyes peeled to InStyle’s Facebook page as they are releasing a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot on there later in the week.

I so can’t wait to pick up my copy.

The movie which hits screens in November sees Miss Piggy playing a Paris Vogue fashion editor, and designers including Zac Posen and Christian Louboutin have made her costumes. Is that enough of a reason for me to go see it?? Sadly, it probably is!!!

Also I am super excited about the make-up movie tie-ins as well coming in November: the Miss Piggy for MAC make-up collection, which will only be available online, features eye shadow in Miss Piggy Pink, black eyeliner, and faux lashes; and then OPI have created 12 limited edition nail shades, six shimmery reds and neutrals, plus six glittery shades, sadly though only three of them are named after Miss Piggy – they are the best ones though!! My favourite being Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It! a flamboyant glittery red – a pure diva colour!!

Tiffany Dinner: Diane Kruger Stunning In Prabal Gurung

dianeprabalgurung Tiffany Dinner: Diane Kruger Stunning In Prabal Gurung %tag

Who: Diane Kruger

Where: At a Tiffany & Co. dinner celebrating Frank Gehry’s collaboration

Wearing: A Prabal Gurung embroidered tulle chemise with silver and gold hand painted sheet metal sequins and feathers from the autumn/winter 2011 collection; teamed with two-toned sandals and a metallic Ferragamo clutch.

Verdict: I can’t lie I am a huge fan of Diane Kruger, I just feel that she oozes style and for me always seems to get it just right without playing it safe all the time. I said when I saw Prabal’s spring/summer 2011 collection that I could see Diane wearing his pieces, and I am so glad that she went for this gorgeous hand-painted metallic gown.

I love how this dress has a sultry feel to it with its shimmering embroidery, but still demure with its three-quarter sleeves and the cut of the dress falling just below-the-knee. This dress really is perfection and works perfectly with her skin tone and I am so glad that she kept her hair down, especially as I think with a dress with this much detailing there is a pressure to pull the hair back, but I really like that she has added her own style to such an amazing dress.
