Oscars 2014: Penelope Cruz In Giambattista Valli & Chopard

Oscars-chopard-penelope-cruWho: Penelope Cruz

Where: At the 86th Academy Awards held in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A soft pink chiffon Giambattista Valli Couture one-shoulder gown with a black bow waistband, teamed with Chopard diamond chandelier earrings and bracelet

Verdict: There is something about Penelope Cruz that she was one of the stars I was excited to see tonight, and she really didn’t disappoint in this romantic cape-like custom Giambattista Valli Couture gown.

In past years we have seen Penelope work sexy and dramatic looks and it was nice to see her work an elegant, romantic look in this Grecian-esq draped gown. I loved everything from the colour to the one-shoulder to the black bow accent nipping in her waist.

Adding to her look was her stunning Chopard jewels, everyone is seems went for statement earrings tonight and these chandelier beauties were divine.

Finishing off her stunning look was flawless make-up and a topknot. Penelope Cruz just knows how to work an Oscars red carpet.

Cover Loving: ELLE US Hollywood Issue – Reese, Penélope, Melissa & Shailene

American ELLE’s Hollywood issue is one of my favourite magazines to pick up as I love the mix of actresses they go for – and this year is no exception with Reese Witherspoon, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, and Melissa McCarthy all gracing the cover.

My favourite cover this year is a difficult choice – between Penélope Cruz, who looks stunning wearing a cashmere sweater by The Row and Chopard jewellery – I love how they’ve kept her make-up to a minimal to show off her adorable freckles, and Shailene Woodley, even though this cover looks set for summer rather than autumn wearing Calvin Klein Swimwear there is something different about the pose that makes it stand out.

Reese Witherspoon’s cover is probably the most predictable, but nevertheless she still looks stunning in a sexy Versace number. The cover I think I was most disappointed with was Melissa McCarthy styled in an oversized Marina Rinaldi coat with OTT eighties hair – I can only imagine how much hairspray they used.

Online there also seems to be another two covers featuring Marion Cotillard working the crop top trend in Dior, and British actress Naomie Harris looking absolutely gorgeous in a Calvin Klein Collection wrap halter top and skirt, very similar to the one that Rose Byrne wore to the Primetime Emmys.

Considering this is a November cover there is a lot of skin on show – especially with the main fashion tagline being ‘the perfect coat shape’. It is hard to decide on my favourite but I think it has to be Penélope Cruz as she just looks gorgeous and is really the only one, except for Melissa wearing anything autumn related.

Which cover is your favourite? Also do you think these covers seem more appropriate for spring/summer than November?

Cover Loving: Penelope Cruz For Madame Figaro

There is something mesmerizing about Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, whether it is in a movie, on the red carpet, or on a magazine cover, for me she is a modern-day screen siren that always brings a touch of glamour. I am loving these two covers of her photographed by Nelson Simoneau for French magazine Madame Figaro for their July issue, both flaunt her amazing body.

My favourite cover has to be her wearing that gorgeous Balmain lambskin beaded gold spring/summer 2012 jacket, that alone makes a great cover teamed it over an Eras bathing suit and this is one hot cover. I love the styling, her pose, and most of all her sultry make-up and wet hair.

The second cover is just as stunning, that Stella McCartney mini, which has also been worn by Charlize Theron, looks incredible on her.

I don’t know about you, but for me Penelope Cruz still has it!

To Rome With Love: Penelope Cruz Looks Breathtaking

Who: Penelope Cruz

Where: At the world premiere of her new film ‘To Rome With Love’ directed by Woody Allen in Rome

Wearing: A strapless blush nude lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, with gathering detailing to the hip, teamed with a bronze minaudière

Verdict: This nude colour can sometimes seem a little boring and bland, but against Penelope’s skin tone the colour has a glow about it that worked perfectly with the lace detailing and the body-hugging silhouette of the gown. I am so pleased that she has a big flick coming out as I have kind of missed her of late on the red carpet, and if this Dolce & Gabbana gown is anything to go by this will be one gorgeous promo-tour.

I love everything about this look from the colour of the dress to the sexy silhouette to the way she has braided her hair into a top-knot style, this is one chic look and perfect for a world premiere.

84th Oscars: Penelope Cruz in Giorgio Armani

Who: Penelope Cruz

Where: At the 84th Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: An off-the-shoulder blue-grey Giorgio Armani organza gown, with fitted bodice, fabric that cascades into gathered pleats, teamed with Chopard jewel necklace, earrings and bracelet

Verdict: This is a classic gown, perfect for the Oscars, and the ethereal look is fabulous on her. The colour is a little different for her, and I adore her Grace Kelly make-up, hair and jewellery. Overall, this is a gorgeous look from Penelope and took me a little by surprise, which is always nice, I was expecting a full on sex-kitten look from her in a sparkly form-fitted gown. I like Penelope all demure, she has an old-Hollywood feel about her.

Pirates: Penelope Cruz in Marchesa, Emilio Pucci, Stella McCartney, Givenchy and Armani

Who: Actress Penelope Cruz

Where: At the Pirates of the Caribbean Premiere in Cannes, France

Wearing: A lavender coloured jewel encrusted illusion Marchesa gown from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, with flared silk tulle skirt and shoulder detailing; paired with a Swarovski clutch and Chopard jewellery

Verdict: Other than the Disney Premiere when Penelope wore that gorgeous black Marchesa, this is my favourite look from her European promo tour so far. I always feel that Marchesa add something extra to their red carpet looks but this is a divine dress that looks like it was designed especially for Penelope. It is hugging her in all the right places, and the colour is just perfection against her skin tone. She really is beautiful.

Where: At the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides photocall at the Palais des Festivals during the 64th Cannes Film Festival

Wearing: A navy form-fitted Stella McCartney dress from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, with a velvet skirt and teamed with navy heels

Verdict: I always love dresses that fall just below-the-knee, and navy blue makes it perfection for me. This is a perfect look for a photocall, and Stella McCartney is one of the best choices to go for, it really does show how amazing Penelope’s body is. Great look and I am so glad that she kept her hair down.

Where: At the première of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in Moscow

Wearing: A knee-length black velvet embroidered Emilio Pucci dress from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, with long sleeves and bow detailing

Verdict: This is one statement dress, normally I wouldn’t like this but Penelope oozes just enough attitude for this dress to shine. I know some will say that this is a boring look for a premiere, but I love the drama of the high neck, large bow and velvet. I like it.

Where: At the UK Premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at Vue Westfield

Wearing: A white embroidered Givenchy Couture gown from the autumn/winter 2011 collection, with exposed zip detailing to the front

Verdict: At first glance I wasn’t sure about this look. There is no question that she is looking fabulous post-baby, but I just wasn’t sure if

Where: At the Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Premiere in Munich, Germany

Wearing: A custom fitted red organza Giorgio Armani Privé gown with long-sleeves

Verdict: What a beauty!! I loved Anne Hathaway when she wore a similar Armani gown in sapphire satin, but this red is just perfection and looks amazing on Penelope. Simply gorgeous.

Pirates Premiere: Penelope Cruz Gorgeous In Marchesa

Who: Penelope Cruz

Where: At the Pirates of the Caribbean World Premiere in Disneyland, California

Wearing: A black off-the-shoulder custom Marchesa gown with embroidered feather and jet crystal detailing, teamed with Chopard jewels

Verdict: This is a statement gown and I love it,. From the jet black palette to the feathered detailing, everything is completely divine about this look. I also love her high pony tail; it most certainly does seem to be the hairstyle of choice at the moment.
