Jaeger-LeCoultre Opening: Diane Kruger In Jason Wu

Diane kruger 3 Jaeger LeCoultre Opening: Diane Kruger In Jason Wu %tagWho: Diane Kruger

Where: At the Jaeger-LeCoultre Vendome Boutique opening in Paris

Wearing: A blackless navy lace Jason Wu jumpsuit with a black belt hot off the spring/summer 2013 catwalk, teamed with black Giuseppe Zanotti heels and of course a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch

Verdict: Wow, wow, wow – what a jumpsuit. I love everything about this look from the navy colour to the lace-luxe, to the gorgeous tailored silhouette of the jumpsuit, but most of all I adore her retro 40s-inspired hairdo and red lips.

I love how Diane can channel old-Hollywood glamour so perfectly, this look is another reason I seriously crush on this girl, she always seems to get it right on the red carpet and she makes it seem easy to rock a jumpsuit, which most of us over the size of 8 will no isn’t.

Jumpsuits have had a lot of attention this year on the red carpet, Kristen Stewart was just seen in a peek-a-boo lace jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad on her Twilight tour, Emma Stone wore a glitzy Elie Saab tuxedo-style jumpsuit to the London premiere of Spider-Man, Elizabeth Banks rocked a black jumpsuit to the MTV Movie Awards, and at the start of the year Rose Byrne put herself in the spotlight in a vintage white embroidered Elie Saab beauty with a deep v-neck at the SAG Awards. All amazing looks.

It doesn’t matter how many times I see a jumpsuit on the red carpet I adore it just the same, but I am putting this navy lace number by Jason Wu right to the top of my best dressed jumpsuits as I love how glamorous it looks on Diane.

What do you think of Diane’s retro curls and jumpsuit look?

Pre-Fall 2012: Elie Saab’s Balada A Paris Short Film

eliesaab Pre Fall 2012: Elie Saab’s Balada A Paris Short Film %tag

I love a fashion film, I love gorgeous sequinned gowns, add Paris and Elie Saab into the mix and I am seriously in love!!!

Known for chic evening gowns worthy only for the red carpet and major award shows Elie Saab has produced an elegant film, Balade a Paris to showcase the pre-fall 2012 collection, which has just hit stores.

This film walks in the footsteps of the Elie Saab woman taking in her endless elegance from day to night, and brings with it all the glamour and exquisite craftsmanship that Elie Saab is known for. What I adore about this short film has to be the close-ups of the dress details showing off the designers use of beads, sequins, lace and cut-outs, especially the gorgeous red-sequinned gown.

I just love the intimate feel of the film, that it has totally made me want more and I can’t wait to see some of this looks hitting the red carpet.

Couture Spring 2012: Back To The 20s With Givenchy

GIVENCHYfront Couture Spring 2012: Back To The 20s With Givenchy %tag

If you are after drama and exquisite detailing from Paris Couture Fashion Week then you don’t have to look further than Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. Once again, his Givenchy couture offering was divine, with the Art Deco era of the Twenties and Thirties a key influence in the collection.

There may only be 10-pieces, but each floor-length gown has a feminine appeal, with geometric embroidery, crystal embellishments and fringed detailing in a colour palette of black, white, brown, cream and bronze – all presented with the most opulent of jewellery and elbow-length gloves.

Of course I can’t look at Couture without thinking Oscars and these three are my top picks. I am going for Rooney Mara choosing the black number, minus the jacket, but hoping that she pairs it with some of the jewellery from the collection. I also loved the white and bronze dresses as well. I think the halterneck bronze design is the most likely to go from runway to red carpet.

I also love the basketball court setting – it really made the dresses look incredible and if possible more feminine. Loved the collection.

Couture Spring 2012: Atelier Versace – I Spy Oscar Gowns

AtelierVersace1 Couture Spring 2012: Atelier Versace I Spy Oscar Gowns %tag

Yesterday saw Donatella showcase her couture line Atelier Versace for the first time since 2004 at l’Ecole des Beaux Art in Paris with actresses Diane Kruger and Cameron Diaz spotted pick out their next red carpet dresses. I am so glad that she did a presentation as the collection was full of glamour, exquisite detailing and most of all it was nice to spy potential Oscar gowns for my best dressed list.

There were only 15 looks presented, but wow what a 15, with gorgeous eveningwear gowns treading the gold staircase with leather hot pants, corsets, and biker jackets. The colourway was just divine from gorgeous pearl grey hues, mixed in with vibrant golds, and my favourite designs were the vivid orange, and acid green and yellow shades, which looked amazing in the sculpted corsets with metal detailing, encrusted crystals, transparent lace and leather.

I just loved the 3D qualities to the waist, neckline, bust and shoulders, which will just be perfect on the red carpet and I am sure a Lady Gaga music video. I could also see this gold number being worn by Jennifer Lopez, maybe for a live show of American Idol? But I also think it if it could be reworked into a floor-skimming evening gown with chiffon train then Diane Kruger would be a vision at the Oscars.

My Oscar picks have to be these pearl grey gowns, which I think just have a gorgeous silhouette about them with the metal work embellishments. If Anne Hathaway is going to attend can you please try on this long-sleeved version, I love the shoulders, the sheer texture and that waist skimming metal work detailing.

I could see this shape dress in a more neutral colour being worn by Angelina  Jolie as well as Nicole Kidman, but I would love someone to give this vibrant orange a go.

Last word has to be given to those sky-high heels – how divine are these with the leather tongues detailing to the front.

In Pictures: Paris Love Bridge

I have been to Paris a number of times, but it was only recently when I was in town for Paris Fashion Week, that I discovered the amazing Love Bridge, aka Pont des Arts.

This pedestrian bridge across the Seine River, linking the Institut de France and the Palais du Louvre, is adorned with Love Padlocks which people have customised to symbolize their love.

It was literately covered from end-to-end, I was memorised by it, there were padlocks that have been there for years. I loved the heart-shaped padlock, the red spotty one, and found the engraved handcuffs a little bit too much. I seriously could have stayed on this bridge for hours taking in the memories.

Apparently, this custom of  ’locking a padlock and throwing away the key’ probably originated in China, I really like the idea. I think I will have to get one for Paulie and I and lock it to our garden fence!!

Every time I go to Paris, one of my highlights has to be the Colette window display. Last year, it was an amazing super heroes celebrating DC Comics and this time round it was all about Ken Carson turning 50.

In collaboration with Cassette Playa, this window is like a mini exhibition as it features a display of Ken archive dolls spanning six decades, one of my favourite has to be Totally Hair Ken from 1992, it is the purple trousers and white shoes – very trendy!!
