Haute Couture Week: Jennifer Lopez In Atelier Versace

Jennifer Lopez Versace 1 e1404752595449 Haute Couture Week: Jennifer Lopez In Atelier Versace %tag

Who: Jennifer Lopez

Where: Attending the Atelier Versace autumn/winter 2014 show on day one of Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris

Wearing: A strapless pure white Atelier Versace gown with thigh-high slit and one fully beaded trouser leg, accented with two metallic straps on the hip, from the Atelier Versace autumn/winter 2014 collection, teamed with an Atelier Versace bracelet and earrings, and silver Versace platform sandals

Verdict: I am just going to say it – I adore this look. There is something about this hybrid gown on Jennifer Lopez that just works.

On paper if you had seen ‘gown with a thigh-high split and one fully beaded trouser leg’ you would have thought that Donatella Versace was off-her-head but when you see in on a superstar like J-Lo, who just embodies what Versace is about, you can’t help but think it looks fantastic.

If it was in a darker colour I don’t think I would have liked it as much but the white looks so amazing against her skin-tone and really works with the glamorous styling of the gold jewellery, so OTT, so Jennifer Lopez, so Versace.

If the outfit wasn’t enough I can’t stop starring at her flawless face, her cheekbones are sculpted to perfect and her eyes are just wow, love it.

Are you as obsessed with Jennifer’s latest look as I am?

Editorial Flashback: Puffy Takes Paris For US Vogue

puffytakesparis 3 Editorial Flashback: Puffy Takes Paris For US Vogue %tag

The other day I was a very un-intellectual conversation with one of my good friends about Sean Combs aka P Diddy aka Puff Daddy aka Puffy, yep the guy who has more name changes than Prince, about remembering how before Kanye West he was the hip-hop guy that fashion loved to hate, or in my friend and I’s case – just love, love, love!!!

You see we were kind of more obsessed with his swagger, his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, come on I don’t think J-Lo would have worn that incredible tropical printed Versace gown if she hadn’t been with him, oh and I can’t forget how much I loved his MTV Making the Band show – come you remember Danity Kane.

Well all this reminiscing got me thinking back to an editorial Diddy starred in alongside Kate Moss in US Vogue styled by Grace Coddington and shot by Annie Leibovitz back in 1999 ‘Puffy Takes Paris’ – at the time I loved how the shoot mixes Haute Couture pieces from Chanel and Christian Dior with the gorgeous Paris backdrop and hip-hop elements of the large furs, and bling, bling and more bling.

To be honest the whole shoot still looks amazing. As well as Diddy and Kate doing a great job – the editorial also features Karl  Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier, and John Galliano in one of the pictures – just how Puffy rolled in Paris back in 1999 I suppose.

Does anyone else remember this editorial? Or is just me with my teenage crush on P Diddy’s swagger?

World War Z: Angelina Jolie Returns To The Red Carpet

angelina z world tour World War Z: Angelina Jolie Returns To The Red Carpet %tag

Angelina Jolie has always been one of my favourite red carpet stars, granted she doesn’t always get it right, sometimes she takes the drama of the dress a little too far, I am talking about her right leg pose at the Oscars in 2012, but no matter what she keeps you wanting more.

Well this week, less than three weeks since she announced that she had undergone a preventive double mastectomy, Angie was back on the red carpet with Brad Pitt as he promotes his new movie World War Z, and since Sunday she has wowed London, Paris and Berlin.Angelina brad London World War Z: Angelina Jolie Returns To The Red Carpet %tagFor London the star went black, simple and elegant in a gorgeous Saint Laurent gown. I just love how even when she is working an understated look she still looks fabulous and I love the sheer panelled bodice.

Keeping with black, Paris was another Saint Laurent look, this time a suit, I just love the contrast of the masculine tailoring with the feminine bow necktie on the blouse.

I am in love with the structured bodice and the rose gold accents to the waist – this is one exquisite look from Angelina and one of her best in a while.

I love everything about this look from the colour to the sculptural peplum, this is an elegant look paired with all the attitude an A-list actress should bring to the red carpet. I am so pleased that she kept her accessories minimal, pairing with just white heels and barley-there make-up.

Which look is your favourite?

Also, is it just me or have Angie and Brad coordinated hair styles? London – they both have their flowing locks down, followed by sleeked back and up in Paris, and back to long in Berlin.Angelina brad berlin World War Z: Angelina Jolie Returns To The Red Carpet %tag Angelina berlin World War Z: Angelina Jolie Returns To The Red Carpet %tag[Pics: courtesy of Paramount/Getty Images by David M Bennet, Pascal Le Segretain, & Andreas Rentz]

Jewellery: Dodo’s City Charm Bracelets

dodo cities Jewellery: Dodos City Charm Bracelets %tag

I make no secret of being a lover of charms, whether it is Thomas Sabo, Astley Clarke, Tiffany’s, or Pandora, I love that they can personalise a look, show off your personality and are perfect to capture a happy memory.

One jewellery charm brand I have had my eye on for a while has to be Italian brand, Dodo, as I love that each charm has a different meaning. For instance did you know their Penguin charm means ‘crazy in love’, that the Butterfly represents ‘I love my freedom’ and the Camel is ‘I’d walk across burning sand for you’, I also love that the D charm is ‘Dear D. You are a Devil, yet Delightful’!!!

As well as animals and letters, Dodo have also put together a series of ‘Souvenir’ charm bracelets for some of my favourite cities – London, Paris and New York, as well as Milan and Roma that are just gorgeous and I want them all!!!

Each of the Dodo loves charm bracelets costs £280, a little pricey, but I love that you get a Dodo bird charm, a love heart and the letters to spell out the city. I think it is hard to choose between London, Paris and New York.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Opening: Diane Kruger In Jason Wu

Diane kruger 3 Jaeger LeCoultre Opening: Diane Kruger In Jason Wu %tagWho: Diane Kruger

Where: At the Jaeger-LeCoultre Vendome Boutique opening in Paris

Wearing: A blackless navy lace Jason Wu jumpsuit with a black belt hot off the spring/summer 2013 catwalk, teamed with black Giuseppe Zanotti heels and of course a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch

Verdict: Wow, wow, wow – what a jumpsuit. I love everything about this look from the navy colour to the lace-luxe, to the gorgeous tailored silhouette of the jumpsuit, but most of all I adore her retro 40s-inspired hairdo and red lips.

I love how Diane can channel old-Hollywood glamour so perfectly, this look is another reason I seriously crush on this girl, she always seems to get it right on the red carpet and she makes it seem easy to rock a jumpsuit, which most of us over the size of 8 will no isn’t.

Jumpsuits have had a lot of attention this year on the red carpet, Kristen Stewart was just seen in a peek-a-boo lace jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad on her Twilight tour, Emma Stone wore a glitzy Elie Saab tuxedo-style jumpsuit to the London premiere of Spider-Man, Elizabeth Banks rocked a black jumpsuit to the MTV Movie Awards, and at the start of the year Rose Byrne put herself in the spotlight in a vintage white embroidered Elie Saab beauty with a deep v-neck at the SAG Awards. All amazing looks.

It doesn’t matter how many times I see a jumpsuit on the red carpet I adore it just the same, but I am putting this navy lace number by Jason Wu right to the top of my best dressed jumpsuits as I love how glamorous it looks on Diane.

What do you think of Diane’s retro curls and jumpsuit look?

Pre-Fall 2012: Elie Saab’s Balada A Paris Short Film

eliesaab Pre Fall 2012: Elie Saab’s Balada A Paris Short Film %tag

I love a fashion film, I love gorgeous sequinned gowns, add Paris and Elie Saab into the mix and I am seriously in love!!!

Known for chic evening gowns worthy only for the red carpet and major award shows Elie Saab has produced an elegant film, Balade a Paris to showcase the pre-fall 2012 collection, which has just hit stores.

This film walks in the footsteps of the Elie Saab woman taking in her endless elegance from day to night, and brings with it all the glamour and exquisite craftsmanship that Elie Saab is known for. What I adore about this short film has to be the close-ups of the dress details showing off the designers use of beads, sequins, lace and cut-outs, especially the gorgeous red-sequinned gown.

I just love the intimate feel of the film, that it has totally made me want more and I can’t wait to see some of this looks hitting the red carpet.

Couture Spring 2012: Back To The 20s With Givenchy

GIVENCHYfront Couture Spring 2012: Back To The 20s With Givenchy %tag

If you are after drama and exquisite detailing from Paris Couture Fashion Week then you don’t have to look further than Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. Once again, his Givenchy couture offering was divine, with the Art Deco era of the Twenties and Thirties a key influence in the collection.

There may only be 10-pieces, but each floor-length gown has a feminine appeal, with geometric embroidery, crystal embellishments and fringed detailing in a colour palette of black, white, brown, cream and bronze – all presented with the most opulent of jewellery and elbow-length gloves.

Of course I can’t look at Couture without thinking Oscars and these three are my top picks. I am going for Rooney Mara choosing the black number, minus the jacket, but hoping that she pairs it with some of the jewellery from the collection. I also loved the white and bronze dresses as well. I think the halterneck bronze design is the most likely to go from runway to red carpet.

I also love the basketball court setting – it really made the dresses look incredible and if possible more feminine. Loved the collection.
