My Style: Casual Affair In United Nude Trainers

My Style United Nude 1 My Style: Casual Affair In United Nude Trainers %tag

Trainers are having a moment, they have never been out of fashion, so it isn’t a revival, so I am going with a moment – we have designers embracing the casual shoe on the catwalk, we have unsporty types opting for pops of colour to spice up their day-to-day outfits, and we even have hard core fashionistas embracing the comfort of the flats over heels. During fashion week everywhere I turned people were wearing the Nike FlyKnits, paired with jeans, leather skirts and even dresses – it seems that dressing down is the way forward.

For me, wearing trainers is the ultimate comfort, more so than wearing fluffy-lined boots on a cold day, they are an item of footwear that really has the ability to go with anything, plus if you really want to you could also run a mile in them, I don’t – but the thought is always there!!! One thing I am loving about trainers at the moment is how fun they are – with brands going for prints, textures, clashing colours and best of all retro shapes.

These beauties that I am wearing here are from United Nude’s new Runner collection, aren’t they pretty – they kind of remind me of a pair of Kangaroo’s I had in the 80’s, yep I am an eighties baby. I love everything from the shape, I do the slightly pointed toe to the vibrant stitching and the striped pattern that makes them instantly recognisable as being designed by United Nude. They are just so much fun.

There are six different designs, these are the Petrol ones, but all of them are just as vibrant, fashion-forward and will make a great addition for any trainer collection. Mine are probably the most toned down pair, but I just adored the neon pink trim, the others called Rave, Paradise, Violet, and Bright Mix are really statements, and there is a monochrome pair called Anis. I actually love them all – they really do capture the architectural vibe of the brand.

What do you think of United Nude’s fashionable trainers?

My Style: Checks, Denim and Cut-Out Boots

My style bank 4 My Style: Checks, Denim and Cut Out Boots %tag

When was the last time you actually bought a head-to-toe look from one shop? Well a few weeks back I was challenge with £100 to do just that at Bank Fashion and it was hard – not because it wasn’t enough but because of the amount of gorgeous pieces.

They sell everything from DKNY to Superdry, as well as their own label brands including Blonde & Blonde, which does casual, cool pieces like this ripped denim skirt and these cut-out boots that I am currently living in they are so nice.

It was hard to choose my final piece, I was crushing over a fluffy jumper and even a Christmas pug jumper, but I couldn’t resist this Red or Dead checked boxy crop top. I am having a bit of a check moment, first I went for the Boohoo coat, then I recently bought a check scarf, and now I have added this beauty to my wardrobe.

You are probably thinking that I froze to death in this look, well I did a little while I was having my pictures taken, but actually I was in-and-out of the car all day, first for breakfast, then to watch a movie, and then a spot of shopping that I actually didn’t need to wear tights, I have to be honest though the coat did come on for those brief moments running across the car park!!!

What I love most about this look, other than the great fit of the denim skirt, and the cool check top, has to be those cut-out boots. I have a bit of an ankle boot obsession, stay tuned for a shopping post on my favourite pieces in the shops at the moment, and trust me you will be seeing these beauties in some more up-coming style posts.

My Style: ASOS Floral Dip-Dye Dress

Fashionista Barbie asos dress 7 My Style: ASOS Floral Dip Dye Dress %tag

Before the fashion craziness of September, my boyfriend and I always try to get away for a mini-break, so last week we headed to Wales for a spot of relaxation at a spa in Anglesey. More to come on the amazing hotel, the treatments and the island, but as I haven’t blogged an outfit post in nearly a month, so I thought I would share with you one of my favourite looks from my holibob.

This floral dip-dye smock dress is from ASOS and I bought it on a whim as it was in the sale, it still is and is only £18, I like the shape and the idea of wearing florals without being too girlie and bright. The thinking was I could wear during the summer with bright accessories and then come winter I could layer up with tights, boots and a chunky cardigan.

For dinner at the hotel one night I decided to wear this beauty paired with my bright orange heels from Marks & Spencer, I got them for a wedding last year and they are super comfortable and I love the pop of colour with the burn-out floral design of the dress. As I don’t have an orange belt, seriously the only colour I don’t own, I went with my trusty flower clasp beauty from Dorothy Perkins as this dress really needs to be nipped in a little otherwise it looks a little unflattering.

Finishing off my look I kept my jewellery simple, mainly because we were away to relax not get dressed up, so I wore my trusty Fossil watch that my mum got me for my birthday and my new favourite piece of arm candy – this cute bow bracelet from Kate Spade.

There is something about this dress that I love, and I think it works against the gorgeous backdrop of Anglesey, as it makes the pop of colours in the flowers and palm trees look even more vibrant.

Are you a fan of floral dresses and would you wear this beautiful dip-dye number?

My Style: Summer Loving In Wimpole Estate

my style wimpole hall 11 My Style: Summer Loving In Wimpole Estate %tagOne of my happy places, yes I have a happy place, has to be the Wimpole Estate near where I live, it is a gorgeous National Trust property in Cambridgeshire that has an impressive mansion, stunning gardens and grounds, and is home to some of the most adorable cows ever!!!

For me this is a place to relax, reflect, and generally get away. There is so much to do – I regularly come to read a book under a tree, enjoy a picnic, visit the farm, or just admire the stunning floral displays in the gardens, and when I am filling extra energetic I take in one of their many walks – this place is as beautiful in summer as it is when covered in snow.

I always seem to find something new to capture with my camera, whether a pretty flower, a cute cow, the incredible scenery, or the estates ginger cat. If only the place had free WiFi across the grounds as I think I would become a permanent resident throughout the summer.

Last weekend, when the weather was a little cooler, I decided to pop by to visit the gardens and take some summer snaps – basically I wanted to pose in front of a big mansion, see a few cows and get some flower inspiration for my own garden.

The greyish skies suggest that it wasn’t that warm but it was such a muggy day that I wore my loose Jaeger Boutique dress that I bought in the sale last year, which is perfect for dressing up with heels or like here with simple flats that I picked up in Primark. As I can’t seem to go anywhere, not even for a walk, without jewellery I paired my look with my new MyFlashTrash bracelets that I was gifted by River Island and my statement rose necklace from Angelica London.

It was such a fun afternoon and I hope it comes across in these piccies as for the first time in a while I actually didn’t hate what I saw – here’s hoping that my confidence is on its way back up!!!

So what do you think of this summery look – are you a fan of Jaeger Boutique? Also let me know what your happy place is and if you have visited Wimpole.

My Style: Summer Loving In My Mickey Tee

fb style mickey tee 2 My Style: Summer Loving In My Mickey Tee %tag

I have finally started to embrace this gorgeous weather. At first it was a case of how long is it going to last, the insecurities of showing the world my bare legs, and generally not having anything suitable – winter layering has been needed for too long this year.

I have already expressed my love of the denim skirt, and yes I have already blogged this beauty from Zara, but wearing skirts with tees is fast becoming my summer staple, which is surprising as in recent years my wardrobe has been filled with dresses.

Last week I popped into Primark, the newer one at the Tottenham Court Road end of Oxford Street in London, and I found this cool Mickey tee I just had to have. Only £6, this beauty is the perfect summer tee, it is light, fun, and comfortable – I love the rolled up sleeves. I have this boyfriend-style tee in nearly every colour and I have raved a lot about them to my friends as they are a great wardrobe staple and can be dressed up or down.

While in Primark I also picked up these pink flats, I have been looking for a pink pair of sandals for a while and couldn’t quite find the right style, I am not a fan of the thong between my toes, and these ones priced £3.50 are not only a bargain, they are super comfortable, haven’t rubbed me and are great for just throwing on in this heat.

The final piece of this outfit that I loving is this adorable blue Paul Costelloe bag that my Mum bought me as part of my birthday present. I am gathering quite a collection of super cute tiny bags, there is something nice about scaling back on all the crap I usual cart around with me – and this bag is perfect for the weekend as it fits in my phone, purse, beauty essentials, keys, as well as my Canon PowerShotN for those inspiration moments on the go.

How has your style been dealing with the hot weather?

My Style: When Hudson Met Lulu

st albans my style 1 My Style: When Hudson Met Lulu %tag

This weekend actually felt like spring, it was sunny, it was warm, and it meant that I could finally wear something that wasn’t layered up – cue the crop jeans, the statement tee and a colourful pair of trainers!!!

A couple of years ago I am not so sure I would have got my ankles out for a pair of jeans, that was because I hadn’t been introduced to the boyfriend style of denim, since I got my Gap pair I have been a little obsessed in finding a pair that was a little longer in length that would be perfect with trainers, and then Jeanography came along and recommend these Hudson Jeans and I think I can safely say they are going to be my spring/summer staple.

As we had friends over this weekend we took full advantage of the sunny weather and took in the sights, shops, and gorgeous parks of St Albans, a market town that I haven’t been to in a while and it is so pretty. As we were doing a bit of walking around I decided to wear my new Onitsuka Tiger trainers, so, so comfortable and I am in love with the gorgeous pink colour, which works so well with blue denim.

To complete my look of first time wears, which wasn’t intentional I just realised while writing this post, was my Lulu Guinness for Uniqlo doll face tee. You may remember I was a big fan of Lulu’s first collaboration with the Japanese fashion brand, I have the Kooky Cat and the original doll face, so when the collection came out earlier this month I couldn’t resist updating my wardrobe with the new style and at under £15 this tee is a bargain.

If the sunny weather keeps up like this I think you will be seeing a lot more of these jeans, these shoes and an array of statement tees!!!

Do you have a go-to sunny Sunday afternoon attire?

My Style: She Wolf…A-Ooh!!!

OOTD wolfy My Style: She Wolf...A Ooh!!! %tagIf I had to say what my favourite winter look was at the moment it would have to be a statement jumper, preferably with an animal on it, teamed with skinny jeans, biker boots and lashings of arm candy – super cosy, super comfortable, with added sparkle, that is perfect for combating the winter chill.

I have been wanting a wolf jumper for a while since I fell in love with a Markus Lupfer one, and then I spied this beauty in Warehouse and I couldn’t resist it. As well as being striking, I love the metallic eyes, I love the oversized fit of the jumper, which is perfect for laying over a t-shirt when it is cold, and it is super soft as well to enhance the cosy feel.

What is your favourite winter look at the moment?
