Day Tripping

Day Tripping

The summer has a lot of perks, the best of which has to be going on day trips, especially when that includes seeing lots of adorable animals, pretty gardens, and historical houses, so you can imagine my excitement at taking a day trip to Longleat as it literally has it all. I can’t believe this was my first visit, I do love an animal park, especially one that has rhinos and penguins, as I said a day trip to Longleat is one full on day.

A fun day out needs an equally fun outfit, which is why it was only fitting that this beauty of a fringed bag from Karen Millen had to come out to play, isn’t it so beautiful. I know the 70’s has been a key theme this summer but I’m really surprised by how I have become full-on obsessed, we’ve had off-the-shoulders tops, the denim pinafore, and the giant flares, so it felt right to try the denim midi, probably the only denim skirt style I didn’t own.

Dressing Up With Bernshaw

Dressing Up With Bernshaw

I’m a big fan of red carpet dressing, I loved getting all glammed with BAFTA a few weeks ago, and it was so much fun last week to be introduced to the amazing Bernshaw brand, which for the past 70 years has been designing glamorous occasion wear dresses.

It is one of those brands that if you have a big black tie bash, a day at the races, or a fancy wedding coming up that you have to check out as this amazing British label has some exquisite and flattering dresses.

Fields Of Yellow In Gorgeous Flares

Fields Of Yellow In Gorgeous Flares

There are so many things I love about living in the countryside, the open spaces, the gorgeous views, incredible walks on our doorstep, and the moment I’m obsessed with the gorgeous yellow fields that are literally surrounding our village, so of course I couldn’t help but take advantage of the sunny weather to take an impromptu photoshoot of what seems to becoming my weekend go-to outfit, flares and stripes.

Floaty Skirt Waiting For Spring

Floaty Skirt Waiting For Spring

The clocks go forward at the weekend, yep we lose an hours sleep, which at the moment I could so use, but it gives me hope that the weather is going to finally cheer up and be spring-like, rather than this constant wintery weather we seem to be having here in Blighty. I know we don’t get heatwaves that often, but seeing the sun shining would be nice, we just seem to be getting this overcast, windy weather that isn’t pretty or pleasant to be outside.

I wanted to wear this look, without the tights, with cute strappy heels, and with a thin top, sadly it wasn’t to be so I made my floaty Reiss midi skirt winter ready with some new trusty ankle boots, I know I don’t need any more but these were a sale steal from Faith, who I didn’t realise still existed, and I really don’t think you can have too many ankle boots, especially in black.
