My Style: When Hudson Met Lulu

st albans my style 1 My Style: When Hudson Met Lulu %tag

This weekend actually felt like spring, it was sunny, it was warm, and it meant that I could finally wear something that wasn’t layered up – cue the crop jeans, the statement tee and a colourful pair of trainers!!!

A couple of years ago I am not so sure I would have got my ankles out for a pair of jeans, that was because I hadn’t been introduced to the boyfriend style of denim, since I got my Gap pair I have been a little obsessed in finding a pair that was a little longer in length that would be perfect with trainers, and then Jeanography came along and recommend these Hudson Jeans and I think I can safely say they are going to be my spring/summer staple.

As we had friends over this weekend we took full advantage of the sunny weather and took in the sights, shops, and gorgeous parks of St Albans, a market town that I haven’t been to in a while and it is so pretty. As we were doing a bit of walking around I decided to wear my new Onitsuka Tiger trainers, so, so comfortable and I am in love with the gorgeous pink colour, which works so well with blue denim.

To complete my look of first time wears, which wasn’t intentional I just realised while writing this post, was my Lulu Guinness for Uniqlo doll face tee. You may remember I was a big fan of Lulu’s first collaboration with the Japanese fashion brand, I have the Kooky Cat and the original doll face, so when the collection came out earlier this month I couldn’t resist updating my wardrobe with the new style and at under £15 this tee is a bargain.

If the sunny weather keeps up like this I think you will be seeing a lot more of these jeans, these shoes and an array of statement tees!!!

Do you have a go-to sunny Sunday afternoon attire?

My Style: She Wolf…A-Ooh!!!

OOTD wolfy My Style: She Wolf...A Ooh!!! %tagIf I had to say what my favourite winter look was at the moment it would have to be a statement jumper, preferably with an animal on it, teamed with skinny jeans, biker boots and lashings of arm candy – super cosy, super comfortable, with added sparkle, that is perfect for combating the winter chill.

I have been wanting a wolf jumper for a while since I fell in love with a Markus Lupfer one, and then I spied this beauty in Warehouse and I couldn’t resist it. As well as being striking, I love the metallic eyes, I love the oversized fit of the jumper, which is perfect for laying over a t-shirt when it is cold, and it is super soft as well to enhance the cosy feel.

What is your favourite winter look at the moment?

Website Loving: What I Wore Today

WIWTbeta Website Loving: What I Wore Today %tag

If you haven’t heard of What I Wore Today shame on you, only joking, I must admit I only recently discovered the day snaps of Poppys Dinsey and that led me to signing up to the beta testing for her new WIWT platform. So not only do we get a daily shot of Poppy’s look but now we can all join in too and I have to admit my week on the site has been quite fun.

Unlike other sites where I felt like posing, staging and a professional photographer was more important than the actual outfit, Poppy’s WIWT isn’t judgemental to me snapping my look in my bathroom mirror with my Blackberry, hey if Poppy can get away with iPhone snaps then my BB is just as good!!!

The site is still in its Beta phase, but not for much longer as it is launching to the public on September 15, and there will even be an iPhone app available then as well. Another reason to switch I feel, now if only iPhone’s weren’t touch screen I would be OK, maybe I can convince Poppy that a BB app is just as important.

So the site itself is very easy to use: literally add your look of the day snap and tag your outfit, select your mood ranging from annoyed to wired, and my favourite Arse Kicking Awesome, then add the situation whether it’s seeing friends, talking a walk or even going for an interview, include where you are in the world, and then if you want add a description and click save outfit. In total that takes no more than a few minutes, perfect for the one look a day rule.

As well as it being super easy to use I also love the layout of the website, you can search by Editor’s Choice *check me out the other day in the orange*, Outfits which includes all the latest looks, or how about Brands, currently Primark is trending at the top.

So getting in the spirit of things I have uploaded a few outfits this week, you can see them here and also follow me on WIWT. I am also chuffed that I already have 4150 kudos points, not that I am sure what that actually means, but main thing is it is fun so get involved.

Working my Forever 21 owl jumper, love the mustard shade and this jumper works really well with my Dorothy Perkins skinny flares.

I am a lover of the maxi skirt and for a day of events in London I decided to team my New Look beauty with this cool horse-print sheer top from Primark.

My favourite look of the week has to be this long-sleeve Dorothy Perkins pleated knitted dress, yes autumn has come early here in Blighty so I was so pleased that I picked this dress up a few weeks back.

So what are you wearing today?

My Style: A Pop Of Orange

orange dress 2 My Style: A Pop Of Orange %tag

I haven’t done an outfit post in a while, mainly because I haven’t thought any has warranted attention, that was until yesterday when I wore this amazing orange shift dress from Dorothy Perkins.

First up the colour is striking and definitely cheers up a very wet and miserable August, secondly the fit is amazing I love how the Georgette material makes the skirt kick out nicely, and finally how cool is this buckle belt that comes with the dress it really helps nip the waist in.

I was planning to wear this with gladiator flats for a quirky cool daytime look, but with the weather like it is I had to get the tights out early, I know it is sacrilege to wear tights before September but it just had to be done.

I finished off my outfit with my trusty heeled brogues from Primark, I know cheapies but they are so comfortable; and then for my jewellery I just went simple with my black beaded Thomas Sabo charm bracelet, and an added pop of colour with my retro pink Casio, I just like the fact they clash slightly.

My Style: Floral Vibe In The City

mystylealdo2 My Style: Floral Vibe In The City %tag

Not the best of piccies, I really do need to learn to smile, but after I tweeted what I was wearing on Tuesday I got a lot of comments, so as promise here is my look for my afternoon of press appointments and the Aldo AW11 bash *full post on the party coming up*.

I had already picked out a cute summer dress for my afternoon in London, that was until I opened the curtains and was greeted with a gloomy rainy day, seriously worst June ever!!! So I thought that my trusted skinny flare jeans needed brightening up with my floral vest.

I am conscious of the fact that the top,  jeans, shoes and watch have featured before, but come on who wears things just once, I am keeping it real that my wardrobe maybe vast but I generally stick to what I love.

I like the fact that this floral vest is so versatile and flattering, it has a great print and worked well with the skirt but also looks good with jeans. I paired it with my navy boyfriend cardigan for a casual-smart vibe, while not being too hot as even though the weather was sucky it was still humid.

I find that my personality comes out more in my accessories, so you have my retro pink watch, which I adore, as well as my new Gogo Philip woody heart necklace, and I carried my cobalt blue Rebecca Minkoff *not sure why I didn’t have it with me in the pic*.

To round off my outfit were my trusty Primark brogues, not only are they comfortable but at the moment the only shoes that don’t hurt the top of my feet *don’t ask!*.

Hope it was worth the wait.
