London Fashion Week is one of the most fun but stressful times of the fashion calendar, I love that I get to see the new collections up-close and discover new talent, and this season was packed full of talent, but the stress that goes into what to wear is crazy. I used to stick to my all-black wardrobe, tried and tested and never fails, but there is something about letting go and trying something new, and that’s where this winter floral suit from Wolf & Whistle came in, I thought it was very Erdem.
There’s only one thing I wish I’d been able to do more of in Kuala Lumpur and that’s shoot some fabulous outfit posts. I know what’s happened to me. The thing is I’ve learnt this year that what makes my style posts go easier is a great backdrop and there were so many great locations in this Malaysian capital. Sadly travelling alone meant no-one to capture my looks. I did try asking random strangers, even by targeting those with SLRs and it didn’t quite work out. I have lots of blurry and cropped pictures of me in great locations.
Thankfully there was one day when I got to see the city, as well as Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week – more coming soon on the amazing fashion, with Joyce from Kinky Blue Fairy, which meant I was able to shoot one of my favourite looks from my trip, this gorgeous floaty maxi dress.
There have been a lot of seaside backdrops this summer for my style posts, helped in part by the fabulous weather, lets just forget about the majority of July, as well as my love of a day trip, the sound of the sea lapping up the beach, as well as the joy of feeling sand between my toes, pure happiness.
For today’s style post adventure we headed over to Suffolk’s Southwold, a full-on quaint seaside town. It has everything a pier, colourful beach huts, adorable cafes, a lighthouse, fun arcades, a sandy beach and even a carousel, which all went perfectly with my tropical print Gap dress.
Does anyone else get a little fear when thinking about wearing shorts? Or is it just me. For years I stayed clear, then I discovered a pair of great fitting denim shorts, and I was kind of hooked on finding more. My search, I have to be honest hasn’t been overly successful, why do they have to be so tiny, why so tight, and why so unflattering?
Well I’ve found the most perfect pair of weekend shorts from Fat Face, they are so comfortable as they have a little flare, plus the elephant print makes them so adorable to wear, and I love that they are versatile. You can wear these beauties with a T-shirt, a shirt or even a jumper, and pair with sandals, wedges, and as I have done a bright pair of trainers.
