My Style: Pretty Floral Skirt

No matter how hot is out there, even the hottest day of the year so far, it seems that I still can’t help wearing black and chunky boots, it seems that my wardrobe and style is all about winter. Don’t get me wrong I have pretty dresses in summer hues, I get them out on occasions, it is just I prefer black. So my compromise, with myself to wear more summery clothes, is this adorable dark floral skirt.

I don’t have many floral prints in my wardrobe but this one appealed due to the darker vibe as well as the neon pink kick, plus it is in my favourite flattering skater skirt silhouette. I was going to pair this Primark beauty with a neon pink boyfriend T-shirt, but I just couldn’t find it, but my trusty black one was easy to find, I have like 10 of them!!!

But you know what, I think the print and bare legs make this look summery enough, I hope, but I do think a brighter or even white top would have made it pop even more in the sunshine. I think the extra sparkle of this gorgeous Next necklace and Citizen Eco-Drive watch helps though – they both really catch the light perfectly.

Are you a lover of wearing black even on the hottest of days?

My Style: Stripes & Tiny Tim

My outfits are normally pretty safe, I like jeans, jumpers, ankle boots, the occasional flared skirt, leather pencil skirt, and dress, as well as statement jewellery and a great handbag – so I never thought that I would buy or wear stripy jeans!!!

I bought these beauties at the Donna Ida pop-up at Cheshire Oaks, not only were they a bargain down from £150 to £25, but Donna herself convinced me to try them on and to be honest who am I to argue with the Queen of Denim.

When I saw them I loved them, the mint colour is just amazing, but I instantly thought I could not only pull them off but my chunky thighs would look even bigger – what surprised me the most is how they are actually flattering and slimming.

To tone down the stripes and to make it more me I decided to pair them with lots of black – a chunky jumper, cut-out boots and my new Anya Hindmarch ‘Tiny Tim’ handbag, which granted doesn’t hold a lot but is oh so pretty.

Considering I was pretty nervous about rocking these jeans once on I felt amazing and I think I pulled them off by keeping the styling simple. I can’t wait for summery weather as they would look great with a black tee and strappy black heels.

How would you style these stripped beauties?

My Style: Checks, Denim and Cut-Out Boots

When was the last time you actually bought a head-to-toe look from one shop? Well a few weeks back I was challenge with £100 to do just that at Bank Fashion and it was hard – not because it wasn’t enough but because of the amount of gorgeous pieces.

They sell everything from DKNY to Superdry, as well as their own label brands including Blonde & Blonde, which does casual, cool pieces like this ripped denim skirt and these cut-out boots that I am currently living in they are so nice.

It was hard to choose my final piece, I was crushing over a fluffy jumper and even a Christmas pug jumper, but I couldn’t resist this Red or Dead checked boxy crop top. I am having a bit of a check moment, first I went for the Boohoo coat, then I recently bought a check scarf, and now I have added this beauty to my wardrobe.

You are probably thinking that I froze to death in this look, well I did a little while I was having my pictures taken, but actually I was in-and-out of the car all day, first for breakfast, then to watch a movie, and then a spot of shopping that I actually didn’t need to wear tights, I have to be honest though the coat did come on for those brief moments running across the car park!!!

What I love most about this look, other than the great fit of the denim skirt, and the cool check top, has to be those cut-out boots. I have a bit of an ankle boot obsession, stay tuned for a shopping post on my favourite pieces in the shops at the moment, and trust me you will be seeing these beauties in some more up-coming style posts.

My Style: All About The Coat

So I have been a little slack on my outfit posts of late, first it was because I went away and style snaps and living on a boat didn’t really go hand-in-hand, then there was more than a week when I never came home while it was still light enough for a picture, then I had to contend with the rainy weather at the weekend, and my constant problem finding someone to actually capture my look.

Finally this weekend the weather was actually bright, well for most of it, I managed to rope my boyfriend into taking my picture and it was cold enough to wrap up in my new favourite coat from Boohoo’s Boutique collection.

I first spotted this coat at the Boohoo dinner I went to back in August – I fell in love with it because it kind of works three trends in one – checks, biker style and furry and it is super cosy to wear. I was kind of scared about working the checks trends, mainly because I think you have to get the right size check for it to work, so when I saw this half-check-half black biker-style coat I couldn’t resist, especially as it has a cute furry faux-fur collar to give it a vintage vibe.

As this coat does all the talking I paired my beauty with my go-to Donna Ida jeans, an oversized black jumper, and my new cut-out ankle boots from Bank’s Blonde + Blonde, trust me you will see more of these beauties as the season goes on but I couldn’t resist taking them out for a spin this weekend.

Have you fallen in love with wrapping up warm in a coat or are you already wishing for spring?
