Barbie Lagerfeld: Coming September 29, 2014

Karl and Barbie Barbie Lagerfeld: Coming September 29, 2014 %tag

OK Barbie lovers, mark up September 29 on your calendar, set an alarm in your phone, write it on the back of your hand, whatever it takes to remember – as this is when Barbie Lagerfeld goes on sale.

Part of the Barbie Collector series, Barbie Lagerfeld will be limited to only 999 dolls, so it will go quickly and will be priced around $200/€200. Unlike other launches which were exclusive to the BarbieCollector.com, Karl Lagerfeld’s doll will also be sold at select Karl Lagerfeld boutiques, Colette in Paris, as well as on Net-a-Porter.com, which is probably where you will find me on September 29 ready to add to basket!!!

When the news broke that Barbie would be channelling Karl Lagerfeld’s complete look, from his trademark white ponytail to his signature tailored black jacket and fingerless gloves, I was excited, but I have to be honest it wasn’t until I saw my favourite doll alongside the designer himself, above, that I got really giddy.

I really can’t wait to add this beauty of a doll to my collection. Just look how fierce she looks below – I am loving everything from her eyebrows to the statement sunglasses and that incredible belt that only Barbie and Karl Lagerfeld can really pull off!!!

What do you think of Barbie Lagerfeld – will you be buying at the end of the month?

Video Loving: Temperley London’s Enchanted Summer

Temperley Summer Party 1 550x366 Video Loving: Temperley London’s Enchanted Summer %tag

Every wondered what it was like inside Alice Temperley’s romantic, fairytale-filled world? Well this short film, shot by the designer’s brother Henry Temperley for Net-a-Porter does just that, by showing off her exquisite gowns as well as her stunning Somerset home in the lead up to her annual Enchanted Summer party.

Directed by Alice, the short film really is a gorgeous way to show off the designer’s limited edition Temperley London dresses, worn by some of the brand’s muses including Laura Bailey, Caroline Issa, and Jacquetta Wheeler, who are all wearing designs created exclusively for Net-a-Porter.

One of my favourite shows at London Fashion Week is always Temperley London, mainly because you are guaranteed plenty of gorgeous gowns to swoon over, and this video brings those exquisite pieces to life in such a beautiful, ethereal and fun way. I have to be honest I totally want to be on that guest list – that party looks fun.

But unlike other fashion films, this isn’t a campaign video, a behind-the-scenes of a fashion show, this is a moving-image boutique, as shoppers can click on the dresses or accessories they wish to buy and they will be added to their personal ’boutique’ all without interrupting the film. Net-a-Porter really do know how to get people shopping luxury fashion – but don’t blame me if you want everything you click on!!!

I love all the pieces from the folky floral embroidered skirts to the chiffon-appliquéd tulle gowns and the hot pink lace-paneled pleated crepe maxi dress, but for me it has to be all the wedding-worthy gowns that caught my eye, which isn’t a surprise given that the summer party had a White Magic theme.

Shopping: The Outnet’s 5th Birthday Collection

14083209404 5e554894e2 o Shopping: The Outnets 5th Birthday Collection %tag

Can you believe that The Outnet is only 5 years old? For me it seems to have been around for as long as its higher-end, exclusive big sister Net-a-Porter, and it really has come a long way since its days as just a clearance outlet. Yeah it has always been the place to go for a designer bargain but the past 18-months or so I have really found it a go-to site when shopping for any occasion, not only for discounted gear but also for its Iris & Ink in-house collection of luxury staples and its accessories are always so incredible, my last few designer handbags have come from The Outnet.

So to celebrate its 5th Birthday, The Outnet has teamed up with 17 amazing designers including Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Chloé and J.W.Anderson to produce a collection featuring their re-issued, best-loved pieces and I basically want everything!!!

A few weeks ago I got to check out the collection, basically imagined spending away my wedding fund, and styled up a few of my favourite pieces, which is hard when the line also includes Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu, Nicholas Kirkwood and Haizhen Wang and starts at just £130.

Of course I instantly fell in love with the accessories – the Squeeze It’ patent-leather Alexander McQueen clutch is to-die-for, I love it so much and the £357 price-tag isn’t bag for a classic piece like this, and pair it with those Nicholas Kirkwood panelled suede heels for £318 and you have some killer accessories to jazz up any look. I also loved the classic dark-brown Chloé wedges, a bargain at £225, I think these will be an instant sell-out, as will the statement Oscar de la Renta resin and gold-tone floral necklace, £265.14082714225 ecb54725af o Shopping: The Outnets 5th Birthday Collection %tag

If I had to pick a look from the collection that I would love to wear I think it would have to be the Haizhen Wang black leather jacket, the shape at the back is gorgeous, teamed with the romantic floral-print silk-jacquard Jason Wu dress, paired with those stunning Nicholas Kirkwood heels, and the bold red Oscar de la Renta necklace. I would love to throw in the McQueen clutch but that might just be a little too much!!!

There were also a couple of great looks to wear to a summer wedding for an elegant affair why not try Roland Mouret’s sky-blue O’Hara dress, the colour and fit of this dress is perfection, I really love the folded neck detailing and exposed zip down the back. While a cool, hip wedding you could go for this fun printed silk and moiré pencil Preen by Thornton Bregazzi skirt, team with a white blouse or a crisp white T-shirt and bright accessories.

There are just so many options with this fabulous limited edition collection, but trust me don’t wait around long I think most of these pieces will be instant sell-outs.

Visual Diary: The Joys Of Spring

2014 Spring blossom Visual Diary: The Joys Of Spring %tag

I love it when the clocks go forward, not only do I get to enjoy an extra hour in bed, but I know that the long sunny nights are on there way. I am a lover of all seasons, I adore the snow in winter, the changing of the leaves in autumn, and that summer brings my birthday as well as the UK’s best weather, the occasional heat wave, but there is something special about spring.

I not sure whether it is because it follows the cold, not that this winter has been as cold as previous years (I am still waiting for the snow), or that it brings out the flowers, I especially love daffodils all lined up in a row, or that the fields surrounding my village are dotted with adorable lambs bouncing around the field playing. There is just something so giddy and playful about spring that always makes me smile.

We have had a great start to spring, this weekend was gorgeous, it was nice just to spend time in the garden watching the butterflies fluttering around enjoying the blossom on the trees and listening to all the birds chirping away – it is hard to think of a better way to spend a Sunday to be honest.

As well as enjoying the sun, my surroundings, and outside brunches with friends, I also love that spring means lightweight knits, fun lovely flats and peep-toe heels, and if you are really lucky – no coat at all. Plus it is always the time of year that I love to do a revamp of my wardrobe – out with the old and in with the new.

What does spring mean to you?

Shopping: The Hunger Games Capitol Couture Collection At Net-a-Porter

NAP Capital Couture 1 Shopping: The Hunger Games Capitol Couture Collection At Net a Porter %tag

At the weekend I finally saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the highly anticipated second film in the trilogy, and it certainly lived up to the hype and stayed true to the book. As well as making a star out of Jennifer Lawrence, the film has also catapulted costume designer Trish Summerville into the limelight with her fabulous fashion choices for the likes of Katniss and Effie.

The second film didn’t disappoint me on the fashion front, I loved Katniss’ updated hunting gear with knitwear wraps over her leather jacket, her sporty Lucas Hugh gear and the gorgeous wedding dress that turned into a mockingjay, but most of all I adored the crazy, OTT fashion choices of Effie, and it was lovely to see my Barbie doll’s outfit on the big screen!!!

NAP Capital Couture 2 Shopping: The Hunger Games Capitol Couture Collection At Net a Porter %tag

Well it seems that Net-a-Porter also loved Trish Summerville’s choices as the luxury online retailer has teamed up with the movie’s production company, Lionsgate to create a collection based on the movie.

Called ‘Capital Couture’, the 19-piece collection features everything from jewellery to statement sweatshirts, dresses and even replicas of the Hunger Games sporty looks. Ranging in price from £60 to £800, there is something to meet everyone’s price point, and I think the t-shirts and sweatshirts are going to be the first to sell out.

I saw the collection last week and I loved the leather jacket, super soft and a classic piece, as well as the the bow and arrow ear cuff, and the ‘Girl on Fire’ sweatshirt.

Below are my favourite pieces, which would you love to add to your wardrobe?

Bag Lust: The Victoria Beckham Seven

Victoria beckham seven Bag Lust: The Victoria Beckham Seven %tag

Handbags get me every time, I’m always lusting over at least one, whether it’s an emerging designer such as Sophie Hulme or just a great bag I have seen on the high street – I’m always on the look out for my next purchase.

There is just something about carrying a new bag that gives me a great feeling – I have to be honest I’m more about handbags than shoes.

I’m a lover of bright coloured bags, I have pink, blue and even yellow, but not an acid yellow one. This mini-tote by Victoria Beckham is so lust worthy, I love the invigorating pop of colour, the sports-luxe vibe to it with it being a bowling bag, and I adore the matte-leather.

Now if only this gorgeous Victoria Beckham ‘Seven’ bowling bag was a little more in my price range, at £1,175 I think this beauty is just for my dreams – but oh boy what great dreams I will have with this on my arm!!!

Are you a fan of Victoria Beckham’s handbag collection?

Shop Her Style: Nina Dobrev In Matthew Williamson

Matthew williamson Ninadobr Shop Her Style: Nina Dobrev In Matthew Williamson %tag

Who: Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev

Where: At the Entertainment Weekly Screen Actors Guild Awards pre-party held at the Chateau Marmont in California at the weekend

Wearing: A strapless colourful floral-print silk-chiffon Matthew Williamson gown featuring an internal boned bodice, pleated skirt, and crystal embellishments on the side waist panels from the pre-spring 2013 collection, teamed with an Elie Saab box clutch

Verdict: I love that Nina Dobrev is never afraid to make a statement on the red carpet and this is a bold floral print and she is wearing it well. I love the flattering cut to the maxi dress with the corset bodice and the flowing pleated skirt.

What makes this look for me is that Nina plays down the bold print with her flawless-barley-there make-up and no jewellery – she is letting the dress shine. I just love how effortless her red carpet looks are.

Shop Her Style: Love the look and want to snap up Nina’s dress? Well get out your credit card as this beauty is currently on Net-a-Porter for £1,695.
