Every wondered what it was like inside Alice Temperley’s romantic, fairytale-filled world? Well this short film, shot by the designer’s brother Henry Temperley for Net-a-Porter does just that, by showing off her exquisite gowns as well as her stunning Somerset home in the lead up to her annual Enchanted Summer party.
Directed by Alice, the short film really is a gorgeous way to show off the designer’s limited edition Temperley London dresses, worn by some of the brand’s muses including Laura Bailey, Caroline Issa, and Jacquetta Wheeler, who are all wearing designs created exclusively for Net-a-Porter.
One of my favourite shows at London Fashion Week is always Temperley London, mainly because you are guaranteed plenty of gorgeous gowns to swoon over, and this video brings those exquisite pieces to life in such a beautiful, ethereal and fun way. I have to be honest I totally want to be on that guest list – that party looks fun.
But unlike other fashion films, this isn’t a campaign video, a behind-the-scenes of a fashion show, this is a moving-image boutique, as shoppers can click on the dresses or accessories they wish to buy and they will be added to their personal ’boutique’ all without interrupting the film. Net-a-Porter really do know how to get people shopping luxury fashion – but don’t blame me if you want everything you click on!!!
I love all the pieces from the folky floral embroidered skirts to the chiffon-appliquéd tulle gowns and the hot pink lace-paneled pleated crepe maxi dress, but for me it has to be all the wedding-worthy gowns that caught my eye, which isn’t a surprise given that the summer party had a White Magic theme.

Can you believe that The Outnet is only 5 years old? For me it seems to have been around for as long as its higher-end, exclusive big sister Net-a-Porter, and it really has come a long way since its days as just a clearance outlet. Yeah it has always been the place to go for a designer bargain but the past 18-months or so I have really found it a go-to site when shopping for any occasion, not only for discounted gear but also for its Iris & Ink in-house collection of luxury staples and its accessories are always so incredible, my last few designer handbags have come from The Outnet.
So to celebrate its 5th Birthday, The Outnet has teamed up with 17 amazing designers including Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Chloé and J.W.Anderson to produce a collection featuring their re-issued, best-loved pieces and I basically want everything!!!
A few weeks ago I got to check out the collection, basically imagined spending away my wedding fund, and styled up a few of my favourite pieces, which is hard when the line also includes Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu, Nicholas Kirkwood and Haizhen Wang and starts at just £130.
Of course I instantly fell in love with the accessories – the ‘Squeeze It’ patent-leather Alexander McQueen clutch is to-die-for, I love it so much and the £357 price-tag isn’t bag for a classic piece like this, and pair it with those Nicholas Kirkwood panelled suede heels for £318 and you have some killer accessories to jazz up any look. I also loved the classic dark-brown Chloé wedges, a bargain at £225, I think these will be an instant sell-out, as will the statement Oscar de la Renta resin and gold-tone floral necklace, £265.
If I had to pick a look from the collection that I would love to wear I think it would have to be the Haizhen Wang black leather jacket, the shape at the back is gorgeous, teamed with the romantic floral-print silk-jacquard Jason Wu dress, paired with those stunning Nicholas Kirkwood heels, and the bold red Oscar de la Renta necklace. I would love to throw in the McQueen clutch but that might just be a little too much!!!
There were also a couple of great looks to wear to a summer wedding for an elegant affair why not try Roland Mouret’s sky-blue O’Hara dress, the colour and fit of this dress is perfection, I really love the folded neck detailing and exposed zip down the back. While a cool, hip wedding you could go for this fun printed silk and moiré pencil Preen by Thornton Bregazzi skirt, team with a white blouse or a crisp white T-shirt and bright accessories.
There are just so many options with this fabulous limited edition collection, but trust me don’t wait around long I think most of these pieces will be instant sell-outs.

I love it when the clocks go forward, not only do I get to enjoy an extra hour in bed, but I know that the long sunny nights are on there way. I am a lover of all seasons, I adore the snow in winter, the changing of the leaves in autumn, and that summer brings my birthday as well as the UK’s best weather, the occasional heat wave, but there is something special about spring.
I not sure whether it is because it follows the cold, not that this winter has been as cold as previous years (I am still waiting for the snow), or that it brings out the flowers, I especially love daffodils all lined up in a row, or that the fields surrounding my village are dotted with adorable lambs bouncing around the field playing. There is just something so giddy and playful about spring that always makes me smile.
We have had a great start to spring, this weekend was gorgeous, it was nice just to spend time in the garden watching the butterflies fluttering around enjoying the blossom on the trees and listening to all the birds chirping away – it is hard to think of a better way to spend a Sunday to be honest.
As well as enjoying the sun, my surroundings, and outside brunches with friends, I also love that spring means lightweight knits, fun lovely flats and peep-toe heels, and if you are really lucky – no coat at all. Plus it is always the time of year that I love to do a revamp of my wardrobe – out with the old and in with the new.
What does spring mean to you?
