Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Best Dressed Round-Up

I know I have been bombarding you with lots of red carpet fashion, Oscars weekend is full on, I’ve already run through all my favourite Oscars looks, gushed over Diane Kruger’s hybrid look, and now here we have Naomi, Amy and Natalie rounding off my best dressed at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Naomi Watts stuck with Giorgio Armani, changing out of her embellished Armani Prive gown into this chic timeless custom white silk tuxedo. Women wearing tuxs on the red carpet is nothing new, I have a Pinterest board crushing over them, but this look really does stand out and it is because of the peplum-like detailing on the jacket.

I love a white tuxedo and this one is stunning, going collarless makes it so chic and thank you Naomi for going braless as it really turns up the heat on the look. I love gowns especially on Oscar night but I like this change of pace from her.

Also loving that she styled up the tuxedo with black from her Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ heels, this look really did need a barley-there strap on the heel, to the thin belt and clutch. I do love a monochrome statement.

I missed Amy Adams at the main event, but I suppose when you aren’t nominated or presenting there really is no reason to go, but she certainly made up for it is this beautiful powder-blue custom Atelier Versace strapless gown that was embroidered throughout the front.

This gown is pure elegance, everything from the cut, which is perfectly showing off her incredible figure, to the colour, which I prefer to the hue she wore to the Golden Globes, and I always love a flowing train. Finishing off her look with gorgeous wavy hair was a touch of old Hollywood glamour that she pulls off so well.

I actually think this was better than some of the Versace gowns that actually hit the Oscars red carpet.

My last pick is Natalie Portman who looked stunning in this long-sleeved cream Christian Dior gown. So simply, minimal and totally chic – I love the clean lines of this gown. Everything about this look is perfection and finished perfectly from the colour, I’m glad she opted for a light hue, to the shape, and even her hair and make-up. We haven’t seen much of Natalie on the red carpet and I am so pleased that she blew me away in this gown.

NYC Ballet: Natalie Portman Shines In Dior

Who: Natalie Portman

Where: At the New York City Ballet’s 2012 Spring Gala at the Lincoln Center in New York City

Wearing: A navy tiered silk chiffon Dior gown with black ribbon detail inspired by the spring/summer 1973 Dior Haute Collection, teamed with a matching clutch

Verdict: I missed Natalie Portman at the Met Gala earlier this week, if she was there I haven’t seem any images, but I was sure she would attend in Dior, so her attending the ballet really did make up for it.

What I love about this gown other than the colour, which is truly divine, has to be that dramatic neckline. I love the halter ribbon tie finished off with a bow, that matches perfectly with a ribbon tie to the waist, simply in its design but so gorgeous and an elegant touch that was perfect for the ballet. I am so pleased that she finished her look with a tousled up-do as really does allow the neckline to shine.

84th Oscars: Natalie Portman Shines In Vintage Dior

Who: Natalie Portman

Where: At the 84th Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A vintage red chiffon silk polka-dot Christian Dior haute couture gown from 1954, teamed with a Harry Winston v-shape cluster necklace and drop earrings, and a black box clutch

Verdict: As the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume it isn’t really a surprise that she would turn to Dior for something a little special for her return to the Oscars as last year’s Best Actress winner. I love that she is channelling Grace Kelly with this 50’s inspired look, and the jewels really complement the old-Hollywood glamour to perfection. I think that Harry Winston v-neck cluster necklace is my best piece of jewellery of the night, just piping Gwyneth’s diamond cuff.

Who: Best actress nominee, Natalie Portman, for her role in Black Swan

Where: At the 83rd Academy Awards in Hollywood

Wearing: A plum silk chiffon draped custom made Rodarte gown teamed with Jimmy Choo heels, Roger Vivier clutch and Tiffany rubellite tassel earrings with rose-cut diamonds

Verdict: Well we nearly didn’t see Natalie on the red carpet as she was last to arrive, maybe that was to avoid the “was Dior your original choice for tonight?”.

I like this gown, I just wasn’t blown away by it, I was expecting a lot more considering she is the hot favourite to take away the Oscar.

I like the way the off-the-shoulder gown frames her baby bump, and the draping really does create a gorgeous silhouette. Also the colour is a striking colour on her. But what makes this outfit has to be those Tiffany tassel earrings – they are stunning.

Shop Her Style: Natalie Portman Wears Recycled Polyester

Who: Actress-of-the-moment Natalie Portman

Where: At the Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood party in Los Angeles this week

Wearing: A gorgeous recycled polyester smock dress from the up-coming H&M Conscious Collection teamed with gold sandals

Verdict: It isn’t often that you see a Hollywood star wearing high street clothing down the red carpet, it is kind of refreshing.

I love this new collection from H&M, as everything is minimal and tailored, with lace, Broderie Anglaise, frills and draping details, and all at such great prices.

This dress that Natalie is wearing is only £29,99 ($49.95), and it has the most exquisite detailing to the arms and shoulders. It really will make the perfect summer cover-up.

Pre-Order Her Style: Sadly The Conscious Collection isn’t in store until April 14 *I’ve already added the date into my Blackberry*, but trust me it really is a great follow-up line to the gorgeous Garden Collection.

The range includes various style dresses, trousers, blazers, shorts, skirts, tops and even a white denim jacket, prices start at only £7.99.

Who: Actress Natalie Portman winner of Best Female Lead for her role in the film Black Swan

Where: At the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California

Wearing: A sleeveless neon yellow and biege pleated Givenchy dress teamed with nude Stella McCartney shoes

Verdict: I love this flirty little number, it is colourful which works perfectly for the occasion, and it has a gorgeous yellow sash just above her baby bump showing it off nicely, add in the pleated detailing and it just makes this a gorgeous dress.

What I absolutely adore about this dress is the embellished detailing to the chest and around the skirt. Natalie really does suit her pregnancy.

DGAs: Natalie Portman Dazzles in Michael Kors

Who: Natalie Portman

Where: At the 63rd Annual Directors Guild Awards

Wearing: A black halterneck Michael Kors gown with pleated detailing, teamed with black shoes and clutch, and finished off with Cartier jewellery

Verdict: I don’t think I have been as impressed with Natalie Portman until recently, she really has shown how to wear her baby bump which style and elegance, and this black Michael Kors is the perfect bump-skimming gown. To be honest I can’t even tell she is pregnant in this dress the pleats really are slimming. I like that she kept her look simple, maybe she is going to for something a little more flashy at tonight’s SGA Awards.

Also love that she is standing exactly on her spot – cute!
