SS14 Campaign: Mulberry’s Animal Tea Party

SS14-Mulberry-Cara-4

Once again Mulberry has put together a whimsical English rose setting for its spring/summer 2014 ad campaign starring a very girlie looking Cara Delevingne in an animal tea-party themed shoot.

Not only is the concept cute, the styling of Cara by Edward Enninful is the most demure I have ever seen her look, she looks every inch the archetypal English rose – however I do think the animals are grabbing most of the attention!!!

I do love a charming English tea party, but I think I adore Mulberry’s take even more, with a white pony, a Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican and two cockatoos, apparently called Archie and Spud taking centre stage – it just shows that even for a model like Cara it is hard to compete with gorgeous animals – especially the pony, Dusty isn’t she just a darling.

I really do think that Tim Walker and Mulberry is a match made in heaven – I love this cute and quirky ad campaign.

Are you a fan of Cara’s new Mulberry campaign?

LFW Preview: Designer’s Share Their SS14 Inspiration

mulberry-tea-cup-Fashion month has started, New York Fashion Week is in full swing and London Fashion Week is less than a week away, and I am getting pretty excited to see what the London-based designers have in store for us for spring/summer 2014.

Well, it seems that it isn’t only me getting excited about the SS14 collections, as LFW designers have been sharing their inspiration and work-in-progress via their social media channels as they start the countdown to their shows.

It is nice to see so many designers embracing social media ahead of the shows – and the sneak peaks feature everything from miniature tea cups to graphic prints and floral blooms – I have a feeling it is going to be a bright season.

Scroll through the SS14 preview gallery below and let me know who’s collection you are excited to see.

Exhibition: Tim Walker – Story Teller

tim-walker-story-teller
This week I finally got chance to visit Tim Walker’s incredible exhibition at Somerset House. I am not sure what took me so long, but after I couldn’t make the press preview I kind of just kept forgetting but with the exhibition coming to an end this weekend I just couldn’t let it end without looking around.

Tim Walker, famous for his incredible Mulberry campaigns, is much more than just a photographer, this creative-but-tiny exhibit really shows off the lengths he goes to in his shoots with the use of gorgeous and generally oversized props. Everything from giant bugs, skeletons, musical instruments, planes, crumpled up newspaper and my favourite the giant rag doll, which is kind of creepy-but-adorable.

tim-walker-dollSadly you aren’t allowed to take pictures, crazy right when they have been everywhere on Twitter, Instagram and the Internet, but I just couldn’t resist taking a few sneaky snaps with my mobile *here’s hoping Tim Walker doesn’t mind*, but come on beauty like this needs to be shared with more than just words right?

The exhibition closes tomorrow, so if like me you kept forgetting, and thought you had loads of time – you don’t and for a free exhibition I would certainly recommend checking out if you are in the Somerset House area this weekend.

Christmas Windows: A Trip Down London’s Bond Street

I love Christmas and one of my favourite activities is to wander around London and check out all the amazing window displays. I love how retailers always step up their creativity and this year is no exception. I will be bringing you the wonders of the department stores such as SelfridgesLiberty London and Harrods, but first I wanted to take you on a trip down London’s Bond Street and bring you my favourite festive displays from the likes of Mulberry, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany’s, and Cartier who have literally wrapped up their store.

Tiffany & Co:

One of the most enchanting windows has to be from Tiffany’s, the master of romance have produced doll-sized windows celebrating the magic of the season, centred around ‘My True Love Gave To Me’. Basically this is a look inside the perfect Tiffany & Co town house – starting with the Tiffany blue door to the striking chandelier, and the grand entrance. I think Barbie would definitely approve!!!

Ralph Lauren:

Next up is a white Christmas courtesy of Ralph Lauren, who have dressed their windows in a dramatic winter wonderland full of glamour – and while taking the pictures I was even treated to a choir singing Christmas carols – very festive.

Mulberry:

Mulberry has gone all gold, scattering its windows with oversized padlocks, keys and Christmas cards to place inside the Mulberry postbox.

Fenwicks:

One of the highlights of my Bond Street wander had to be the Fenwick windows, which were dark, sparkly and very different – I loved the Gothic edge and how the clothes and accessories reflected in the wall covered baubles.

Do you love taking in Christmas windows while shopping? Let me know if you have seen any special as I love hunting down creative displays. For more pictures head on over to my Facebook page where I have added more of my trip down London’s Bond Street.
