84th Oscars: Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton

Who: Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams

Where: At the 84th Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A red/coral/burnt orange *delete as appropriate* bustier Louis Vuitton couture gown with on-trend peplum detailing in burnt silk mousseline and organza ribbons done in layers to create a 3D effect, which took more than 300 hours to create; this was finished with Fred Leighton jewels, Bottega Veneta pink clutch and Christian Louboutin heels

Verdict: Louis Vuitton is calling this burnt orange, Michelle called it coral, and I have to admit on screen and in pictures it looks red, whatever the shade this is a knock-out dress. I love that Michelle took a risk with this quirky gown with the colour, the peplum and bow detailing to the waist – it all makes this couture gown standout on the red carpet. It also works amazingly with her blonde pixie cut and her red lippy.

It is just a shame that she didn’t win the Best Actress gong as this dress deserved the attention of an Oscar-winner. But I am sure that this dress will hit the best dressed lists – for me I think it just comes in second behind Gwyneth Paltrow.

SAG Awards: Michelle Williams In Valentino

Who: Actress Michelle Williams

Where: At the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A red silk Valentino dress from the pre-fall 2012 collection with lace detailing and a curved shaped hemline, teamed with a gold Lanvin box clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and matching red satin Roger Vivier heels

Verdict: At the Golden Globes I loved her velvet Jason Wu because it was a little different, and even though red is Valentino’s signature style, this dress had a different edge to it with the lace detailing, the curved hem and the gathering to the side. It looks amazing on her and I am so glad that she paired the dress with matching coloured heels as the combination together looks stunning.

Golden Globes: Michelle Williams In Jason Wu

Who: Golden Globe-winning actress Michelle Williams

Where: At the 69th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: An amethyst coloured burn-out velvet Jason Wu column gown with three-quarter sleeves, accessorised with a Judith Leiber clutch, and a vintage Fred Leighton headband

Verdict: I am sure this look could go either way for Michelle, for me I love this velvet gown it has something a little different to it, but I am sure for a lot this will just be so far from a traditional awards gown that it will make its way onto worst dressed lists. As well as the colour being perfect, the dress itself looks incredible on her, but what makes it for me is that touch of Twenties class with the vintage headband. Out of all the headbands that rocked the red carpet from Charlize Theron to Busy Phillips I think Michelle’s works the best.

Forevermark and InStyle: Michelle Williams In Versace

Who: Actress Michelle Williams

Where: At the Forevermark & InStyle Beauty & Brilliance Celebration in Beverly Hills, California

Wearing: Head-to-toe Versace, with a white cocktail dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection, which features a studded belt and chiffon draping to the side; the look is finished off with Versace metallic strappy heels and jewels from Forevermark

Verdict: Firstly, how hot is her strawberry blonde pixie crop looking – love it!! Secondly, how amazing is the pleated draping to the side – it totally makes the dress. Everything about this look is perfection for me, I love her hair, her striking red lippy, and most of all how amazing does that dress looks amazing on her – she is stunning.

I also love that she went for a mini-dress, as with the award season upon us I find that everything seems to start skimming the floor.

Who: Best actress nominee, Michelle Williams, for her role in Blue Valentine

Where: Arriving at the 83rd Academy Awards in Hollywood, California

Wearing: A floor-length beaded Chanel Haute Couture gown

Verdict: Michelle has redeemed herself after that Valentino gown she wore to the Golden Globes. This is a simple-yet-elegant gown, which has the most intricate beading detailing, and looks stunning with her pixie and flawless make-up.

Did anyone else see her interview with Ryan Seacrest? Super awkward.

83rd Oscars: Anne Hathaway Gives Us A Taste

This week the Oscar nominations were finally announced, and I was super excited as this is one of my favourite award shows, as the stars really do shine in the most impeccable gowns.

Well here is a taste of who got nominated…going for the leading ladies as come on that is who is going to sparkle *fingers crossed* on the red carpet.

Fighting it out for Best Actress in a Leading Role we have: Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, and Michelle Williams. I have to admit I am so pleased that my latest style crush Jennifer is amongst this line-up as I was so impressed with her Louis Vuitton gown at the Golden Globes. Of course Nicole is going to bring her elegance, Natalie is continuing to show how to do maternity wear in style, and I have seriously got my fingers crossed that Michelle really brings it as I was disappointed with her Golden Globes gown.

I was also super pleased for Ken and Barbie that Toy Story 3 were nominated in both Animated Feature Film and Best Picture. But was a little disappointed that the Rodarte costumes of Black Swan didn’t make the cut. Check out the full list here on the Academy’s website.

Well of course I can’t wait for February 27, as this year’s event is being hosted by the stylish Anne Hathaway *by super stylist Rachel Zoe* and the gorgeous James Franco. I love the promo picture above as it really gives us a taste of what’s to come from Anne, especially as she looks so chic in this black silk jersey J.Mendel long-sleeve gown, with its detailed bodice and column skirt – gorgeous!!

Also below is the Oscar promo ad, check out Anne wearing Jeremy Scott’s gold wing shoes – LOVE these so much on her! Also Anne and James have chemistry – I really think this year is going be a great show.

Roll on February 27 – I can’t wait to be staying up all night long blogging away and enjoying the show!

Critics Choice: Michelle Williams in Balenciaga

Actress Michelle Williams arrives at the 16th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in Hollywood, California January 14, 2011. REUTERS/Phil McCarten (UNITED STATES – Tags: ENTERTAINMENT)

Who: Actress Michelle Williams

Where: At the 16th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in Hollywood, California

Wearing: A white vintage-inspired Balenciaga rise and fall hemline gown with beaded detailing to the bust and hemlines, and a scalloped neckline, finishing off the look with nude heels

Verdict: It seems that Michelle is going through a bit of a white/black phase, and we’ve seen her in a lot of cute minis but I think this is the best dress I have seen her in for a while. I love the wedding-style aspect to this beautifully crafted dress, the beaded flower detailing is exquisite. Gorgeous.
