After the Awards season one of my favourite events to cover has to be the Costume Institute Gala in New York, and this year’s event honouring Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, did not disappoint me. It seems that the Honorary chairs of the gala benefit François-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek (in Alexander McQueen couture) seen above with co-chairs Colin Firth, Stella McCartney, and Anna Wintour, really did a good job on the guest-list.
I always like time to reflect on my favourites, but I think I have finally pinned it down to my top three looks.
Snapping up the top spot for me has to be Isabel Lucas, I love everything about her enchanted look, from the colour and the pleats to the bow-shaped button accents, oh and did I forget to mention the most amazing headpiece I have ever seen. Isabel looks divine in her Louis Vuitton gown.
Second up has to be this exquisite Donna Karan gown worn by Ashley Greene, the detailing on this dress is so amazing and every event needs that princess moment for me – and this one is perfection. If like me you are a little obsessed with this gorgeous gown and you are lucky enough to live in New York then head on down to the Madison Avenue Donna Karan store where the dress will be on display.
For my third slot I went back and forth a lot, as I loved all the McQueen looks especially Coco Rocha in her navy gown and Salma Hayek in blush, however I think in true Barbie fashion it is only right to go for a blonde in pink, so my third best dressed is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
You have to admit, the FHM’s World’s Sexiest Woman does look absolutely stunning in her custom Burberry frock, I am excited to see what looks she brings out for Transformers 3 promo tour.
Check out all the dresses here. Let me know which is your favourite.
