Gucci Première: Blake Lively Channels Old-Hollywood Glamour

gucci Gucci Première: Blake Lively Channels Old Hollywood Glamour %tag

Since I heard the news that Blake Lively was the face of Gucci’s upcoming Gucci Première fragrance, named after and inspired by the brand’s red carpet collection, I have to admit I was excited to see the campaign being shot by Mert & Marcus. The first preview of the campaign, ahead of the Nicolas Winding Refn short film, which will premiere during the Venice Film Festival in September, hit Twitter this morning and I was in awe at how gorgeous it was.

Marking Blake Lively’s first fragrance campaign this print ad just shows that she was the perfect face to front this new luxury fragrance as she really does have an Old-Hollywood feel about her, especially with her Veronica Lake hairstyle.

I love the styling, her fully embellished sequinned open-back gown is exquisite, team that with her undeniable beauty, and the shot into the mirror and this is just a truly gorgeous campaign and it has totally left me wanting more and even more excited about the short film.

What do you think of this campaign? Do you think Blake was the right face for the campaign?

SS12 Campaign: Diesel Torches Barbie Dollshouse

SS12Diesel13 SS12 Campaign: Diesel Torches Barbie Dollshouse %tag

I went to the Diesel autumn/winter 2012 press day yesterday, all about coloured jeans, gorgeous knits and huge bags *I will put piccies on  my Facebook soon*, but while there I spotted the current spring/summer 2012 campaign by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, ‘Portraits for Successful Living’, and I was shocked to see them burning Barbie!!!

OK, I am being a little dramatic but what a weird campaign, leggy models torching dollshouses, a denim clad model canoodling a robot, another one trampling on a potted plant, and there is even one playing peek-a-boo in a safe. I get that Diesel is a little bit out there with their advertising but has anyone else spotted these adverts and thought WTF is going on???

The one I do love however has to be the two leggy models doing tug-of-war, those bleached blue flares are HOT!!!

I’ve put the rest of the campaign images on my Facebook page – let me know what you think of Diesel’s latest campaign?

US Vogue: A Predictable Jennifer Lopez Cover

JLoVogue US Vogue: A Predictable Jennifer Lopez Cover %tag

Last week I brought you Jennifer Lopez doing her best Million Dollar Baby impression with her very unexpected sporty cover for V Magazine, well it seems April is J-Lo’s month as she is also fronting American Vogue’s Shape issue with a more traditional glamorous look.

When I saw this cover, I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t the other Jennifer – Lawrence that is promoting The Hunger Games as I am obsessed with the books, but I have to admit I don’t dislike it, however I am not wowed by it. Jennifer Lopez looks stunning in what looks like a Bottega Veneta gown in the cover shot taken by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, but after seeing her do something completely different for V Magazine this shot is just nice, nothing more, nothing less. Am I being a little harsh?

What did surprise me was that Vogue seem to be having a love-in with singers lately – February went to Taylor Swift, March to the lovely Adele and now J-Lo. I am hoping for something a little different and more creative for May.

Cover Loving: Kate Moss In Louis Vuitton For Vogue Japan

KateMossVogue Cover Loving: Kate Moss In Louis Vuitton For Vogue Japan %tag

I have long admired Vogue Japan’s covers and I had to admit I am loving Kate Moss as a ball of sunshine in Louis Vuitton for the magazine’s April cover. Shot by Mert & Marcus, this cover has been getting a lot of stick for the weird lighting, Kate’s fake-tan overload and the decision to have it on a white background, I think it is just me but it is because of all those reasons that I like this cover.

First up the lighting really does project sunshine, it looks like it is radiating out that gorgeous feather-embellished Louis Vuitton dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection especially on a white background, and secondly I love how it defines Kate’s shrinking waist and shows off her iconic cheekbones. Plus how can you not love this dress – it is totally cover worthy – and works perfectly with the candy coloured captions.

For me it certainly is sweet and exotic. What do you think – love or hate Kate’s latest cover?

SS12 Campaign: Givenchy Heads To The Beach

SS12givenchy SS12 Campaign: Givenchy Heads To The Beach %tag

Trust Givenchy to bring a Gothic vibe to the beach, for the spring/summer 2012 campaign, the brand has enlisted its favourite supermodel Gisele to front its dark and stormy advert – it is gorgeous and captures the collection perfectly. Riccardo Tisci described the atmosphere as ‘the expression of a love story between a surfer and a mermaid’ and I think photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have captured the mood perfectly.

At looking at this campaign I have to admit I am asking myself if for SS12 are Givenchy really doing black surfboards? As I could totally get on board with that!!!

AW11 Campaign: A New Era For Versace

Versacefall2011 AW11 Campaign: A New Era For Versace %tag

Wonder if Mario Testino is a little bit peeved that he wasn’t booked to shoot the latest Versace campaign? Since 2004, Mario Testino has also been behind the amazing photography, well it seems 2011 autumn/winter campaign is the start of a new era for the Italian fashion house as for the first time ever they have worked with photographic duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

I loved the edgy autumn/winter 2010 campaign shot in black and white and focusing on the blonde, well it seems that brunette is the new Versace girl!!! The campaign features Saskia de Brauw wearing the feathered dress that I fell in love with on the July ELLE cover, and I just love how they’ve gone for glamour rather than sexy, and the background looks amazing.

As well as the gorgeous Saskia the campaign also stars Sean O’pry. I think these images are stunning, but put them on glossy paper and they will be striking.

I shared yesterday the handsome Rafa Nadal *he is dreamy after all*, and now one for the boys the gorgeous Megan Fox in her Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans ads for spring/summer 2011.

Once again, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott on location in Mallorca, I am so super jealous by how amazing Megan looks.

Her body is to-die-for!

These images are ones to add to my fridge – seriously I want a body like this!!!
