AW13 Campaign: Sonia Rykiel Gets Inspired By Mad Men

If Don Draper was handling French fashion label Sonia Rykiel’s advertising campaign this is probably what he would have come up with – a striking, bold and very arty ad to mark new creative director Geraldo da Conceição’s first collection for the fashion house.

Featuring British model Sam Rollinson, the autumn/winter 2013 campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and pays homage to French advertising posters from the 1950s and ’60s.

I just love the styling, that sky blue coat is amazing, and I adore the graphic cut-out shapes – the keyhole, lips and a face silhouette, which is very Picasso, and Sam Rollinson looks stunning.

Everything about this campaign is bold, fresh and makes a statement – bravo Sonia Rykiel – these ads are going to literally pop off the page!!!

SS13 Campaign: Versace Does Post Apocalyptic Glamour

Versace-SS13-ad-1So according to the Mayans the world was suppose to end today, I forgot all about it, but Versace obviously decided to do their own version of what an apocalypse would look like, and of course it would be glamorous and filled with half-naked gladiators.

For the spring/summer 2013 campaign, shot by Mert & Marcus, Versace has brought together three iconic models Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Joan Smalls and each one looks absolutely hot – especially Kate who is being flanked by three very hunky gladiators, Edward Wilding, Kacey Carring and Veit Couturier.

Of the campaign, Donatella Versace said:

“To have three glamorous and iconic women like Kate, Daria and Joan in one campaign is not an easy feat. Mert and Marcus really outdid themselves, each image is composed like a work of art.”

This is one steamy campaign that I am sure for some will be a little too fake, or photoshopped, but come what do you expect from Versace – these images are so on brand for me and I love them – they are OTT, striking, and so, so sexy.

What do you think of Versace’s spring/summer 2013 campaign?

December Covers: The Many Faces Of Kate Moss

With December marking Kate Moss’ 25th anniversary as a model it is no surprise that magazines around the globe wanted her as their end of 2012 cover star – what did surprise me was how very different each cover made her look.

There is a blonde Kate shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot for Vanity Fair, a veiled Kate for Vogue Espana captured by Mario Testino, and then there is a vibrant Kate on the cover for Elle Japan snapped by Sonia Sieff who certainly doesn’t look 38 years-old.

Each cover is so very different, but each cover is equally as divine, and what I love is that Kate really is showcasing her model pedigree with these covers and accompanying editorials.

I was trying to decide which one was my favourite, I keep fluttering between the Vanity Fair and Vogue Espana covers, I adore Kate’s blonde blunt fringe on the VF cover but there is something mysterious and alluring about her close-up cover shot beautifully by Testino.

So which cover gets your vote?

Video Loving: Brian Atwood’s Uber Sexy Campaign Featuring Candice Swanepoel

Now if there was ever a fashion film and print campaign that was destined to be banned it is this uber sexy campaign from Brian Atwood and I love it.

Inspired by the allure of sexual submission, fearless beauty, and cinemagraphic voyeurism, this is one sexy campaign featuring supermodel Candice Swanepoel wearing thigh-high boots, animal print stillettos, bondage strapped heels and not much else.

To be honest when I first saw the print campaign and film, both shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, it made me think it was advertising Agent Provocateur or some other lingerie brand as Candice is seen gyrating up and down a wall of TV screens playing porn, or as the release states “reliving the previous night’s fantasy”, and it is hard to focus on the shoes!!!

So what do you think of the fashion film? It is the first film from The Sex Is In The Heel series, I am intrigued to see how anything can follow this in the sexy stakes as it is seriously steamy!!!
