Oooh I do love something a little different, and this autumn/winter 2012 ad campaign from Givenchy certainly is a little different. Styled by Carine Roitfeld and shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott this is a stunning campaign aptly named the ‘Rave’. Starring Tisci’s favs Stella Tennant and Joan Smalls, as well as Daniela Braga, Stef Van Der Laan, Rodrigo Braga, Simone Nobili and Jarrod Scott, the models get their dance on to spectacular results. What I love most about this campaign has to be the intensity of the images, from the stormy skies to the urban setting and the striking androgynous styling.
I have long admired Vogue Japan’s covers and I had to admit I am loving Kate Moss as a ball of sunshine in Louis Vuitton for the magazine’s April cover. Shot by Mert & Marcus, this cover has been getting a lot of stick for the weird lighting, Kate’s fake-tan overload and the decision to have it on a white background, I think it is just me but it is because of all those reasons that I like this cover. First up the lighting really does project sunshine, it looks like it is radiating out that gorgeous feather-embellished Louis Vuitton dress
I don’t normally share my love of tennis or Rafael Nadal on this blog, but after seeing these gorgeous shots of him for Armani it would be totally rude not too!! Shot by Mert & Marcus, these campaign shots for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani jeans will be gracing magazines and billboards from February. OMG can you imagine driving by one of those billboards? It should come with a warning a few miles back to stop crashes!! [Pics: Armani]
For spring it seems that Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Gianni has played with bold colours and sleek shapes to produce a gorgeous-yet-glam ad campaign. Once again shot by Gucci regulars Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot, the campaign features models Karmen Pedaru, Joan Smalls, Hailey Clauson. Nikola Jovanovic and Gen Huismans. As SS11 campaigns go, this one is the one that has excited me the most, I think it is because it is bright and bold, but these images are great but trust me they look even better in print. Check them out in February issues. My favourite image has to
Issue 4 is turning out to be the most antipated LOVE magazine to date for me, I loved the Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley cover and now the very un-angel look of Alessandra Ambrosio is another stunner. Once again shot by Mert and Marcus, the angel cover was styled by Katie Grand, and I love how her lips are the first thing I see – she looks stunning. I can’t wait for August 23rd – bujt which cover and I going to buy? Surely end up like the last issue and buying too many!!
