So Barbie has immortalised many celebrities, even works of art, and has worked with most of the top fashion houses over the years, but this has to be her most stylish makeover, my favourite doll is getting the Karl Lagerfeld treatment.
This is no ordinary doll, Barbie will be channelling the fashion designer’s complete look, from his trademark white ponytail to his signature tailored black jacket and even his fingerless gloves. I am also loving the fat necktie and dark sunglasses as her accessories, so stylish and so Lagerfeld.
Set to be released in the autumn in the States this is going to be one popular doll, no word on the actual date, or how much, but I think it will be similar to the Herve Leger and The Blonds Barbie’s that were $150.
I have to be honest I am sold and can’t wait to add Barbie Lagerfeld to my collection.
My only wonder is will there also be a mini Choupette?

If ever there was an actress that deserved to be immortalised as a Barbie it is Fan Bingbing, as come on she is already doll-like perfection. I have been blown away by the Chinese star’s red carpet looks since I first saw her at Cannes many years ago, she has this ability to wear dramatic dresses with ease, and I love that she incorporates her own culture into her exquisite looks.
One of her most recognisable Cannes looks from back in 2010 was this divine one-sleeve Dragon Robe gown by Laurence Hsu, it really is a piece of art with the waves, the tapestry-style print and the slinky silhouette, and Barbie really has recreated it perfectly. Not only is the gown amazing, I really love this look, but more than that they’ve really capture her delicate beauty right down to the blue coloured nails perfectly.
I really have to add this beauty to my collection, the only thing I wish they had also included was her drop earrings, but that is just me being extra picky!!! You can buy the Fan Bingbing Barbie for $39.95 from Barbie Collector.
Will you be adding Fan Bingbing to your Barbie collection?

It really has been a busy week for Barbie, first the fashionista was given a London makeover by emerging fashion designers Sister by Sibling, Fred Butler and Nasir Mazhar, and now my favourite doll has been decked out head-to-toe in Coach.
The very chic Coach Barbie is sporting pieces from the American label’s spring/summer 2013 collection and is wearing a miniature checked tailored Tattersall trench coat, over a striped jumper and a red ultrasuede skirt, inspired by the brand’s archival Bonnie Cashin designs complete with tiny turnlocks that it is famed for.
But it is her accessories that have got me really excited as not only is she wearing Coach’s gorgeous round ‘Patty’ sunglasses, and statement colourblock Tristen sandals, but she is carrying her first ever genuine leather accessory, the brand’s classic red Duffle bag, which was created in the same factories and with the same materials as Coach’s life-sized consumer handbags.
Seriously swoon – I am just sad that the Duffle bag is so small that I won’t be able to borrow it!!!
Do you like Coach Barbie? Will you buying her?
Coach Barbie is a Gold Label doll, and only 13,000 dolls have been produced, she is $95 and can be bought online at Coach or through Barbie Collector. I have also heard that the doll will be available at selected Coach stores worldwide including the New Bond Street flagship – but no UK price, but I reckon it will probably be £95 as that is generally how it goes.
I of course will have to add her to my collection, I am a sucker for a bag after all, I just wish they had gone for the yellow one above – maybe that will come separately!!!
If you do fancy dressing like Barbie – I have found a few of the items that she is wearing:
