Charity Tees: Matches Teams Up With LFW Designers

I am a big fan of affordable designer collaborations, I can’t be the only one who wants a piece of designer in my wardrobe, well when I see designers doing charity still at affordable prices I jump at the chance – because in my logic it is guilt free shopping!!!

I loved the Topshop charity t-shirt collection they launched during London Fashion Week, I am the proud owner of a Holly Fulton beauty, and I am loving that Matches have got together with eight of Britain’s favourite designers to take part in their summer charity t-shirt project to raise money for The Dispossessed Fund – the Evening Standard’s charity that fights poverty in London.

Each t-shirt is £60 each, not bad hey for a worthy cause, and there is literally something for everyone – floral beauties from Erdem, Jonathan Saunders and Richard Nicoll, a colour-blocking peplum from Roksanda Ilincic, eye-catching prints from JW Anderson and Mary Katrantzou, an Art Deco-inspired design from Holly Fulton, and a crowned leopard from the designer and illustrator behind cult magazine Herself‘.

My top three tees are the gorgeous Roksanda Ilincic, I love that this colour-blocking peplum follows on from her pre-fall collection using primary colours, closely followed by Holly Fulton’s bright Art Deco design, and then Mary Katrantzou’s optical illusion ‘Cellphone Key’ print t-shirt. It was hard to choose just three as they are all so gorgeous.

I still can’t believe that they are only £60 each, check out all the designs at Matchesfashion.com and don’t forget to buy one they are for charity after all!!!

Shop Her Style: Ginnifer Goodwin In Roksanda Ilincic

Just browsing Matches, as you do, and I came across the gorgeous bright pink Margot lantern Roksanda Ilincic dress that Ginnifer Goodwin wore to the People’s Choice Awards back in January. Granted this vibrant beauty is very pricey at £950, it is however still gorgeous, and I can’t help but be completely in love with the sleeves.

Now if only I could win the lottery as it seems this statement dress is only available in one size, a size 12, my size – anyone would think that I am destined to buy this dress *I wish*.

Do you do high-end designer stalking on online boutiques and play the ‘when I win the lottery’ and fill up your virtual basket with lots of beautiful pieces? Please say it isn’t just me!!!

Where: At the Baume & Mercier gala in Geneva, Switzerland

Wearing: A super cute twenties-inspired ribbed pink ruffle Azzedine Alaia dress, teamed with hot pink Pierre Hardy peep-toes, oh and of course a Baume & Mercier watch

Verdict: OMG this dress is so cute, and it really surprised me to see it on Gwyneth, who I so missed at the Golden Globes at the weekend. This dress is so fun with its square neckline dress and skater skirt, I totally want it *or super good copy*. But come on the shoes are divine – hot pink heels are my favourites.

3 Events 1 Night: Champagne, Canapes And Lily Allen

Thursday was a busy night in London, there were so many launches, parties and openings that it was hard to fit everything in, but I managed to get to three great events: Mina UK’s store opening, A. Sauvage launch at Matches and the unveiling of new grooming product KINGS at Kettners Champagne Bar.

Pic: Mina UK

First stop, Mina UK’s store opening on Great Titchfield Street, and what a nice shop it is. It has a vintage vibe which is perfect for all the cute dresses, but what I was surprised about was how big the store was.

It was nice to visit it especially as they had Oreo and Malteser cupcakes which was a much needed treat, I also got lots of lovely Lush products in my goodie bag. If you like vintage-style dresses then this is the place for you – I can’t wait to go back and try a few on.

From there I went to the lovely Matches to check out the new menswear line, This Is Not A Suit collection from A.Sauvage. Designed by Adrien Sauvage with TV presenter George Lamb as the muse and business partner, this range pays homage to great British tailoring.

The lovely George Lamb was in attendance looking dapper in a suit, but the highlight for me had to be seeing a fresh-faced Lily Allen. Admitted she didn’t stay long, just a quick stop and circuit, but hey she looked amazing in this cute 50s-style floral print Prada dress with fitted bodice and full skirt – teamed with super high black heels and just in shot a gorgeous Celine blue tote.

I also loved the fact that quirky badges were handed out, you could either be a ‘Captain’ or a ‘Native’, of course I had to be a ‘Native’. Then there was the amazing summery cocktail, dark rum and ginger beer – which was still on my mind the next day as a drink that I have to recreate in the garden.

Check out more pictures from the evening at Matches Facebook page.

Pic: KINGS Invitation

Last stop and great way to end such a great evening was the launch for KINGS, the new men’s grooming collection that is coming exclusively to Boots this week. I know two menswear events in one night, but I couldn’t resist Kettner’s Champagne Bar which is such a good venue for a launch. It was a jam-packed affair, so sitting on the window ledge was the best view of the party *the jealous, wish I had thought of that was priceless*.

It was quite a mixed crowd of fashion and beauty peeps as well as models mingling with the crowd presenting the new KINGS products, and it had one of the best atmospheres I have seen at an event in a while, maybe the heat, champagne and pumpkin canapés helped – but really I think it was down to the fact that designer Henry Holland was down to DJ.

Each venue had very different music, as I was leaving Mina UK they were playing Holly Valance, Matches went for a more high-end of music taken from an iTunes playlist – but the best was by far Henry Holland’s set with Michael Jackson and Take That.
