Cover Loving: ELLE US Hollywood Issue – Reese, Penélope, Melissa & Shailene

American ELLE’s Hollywood issue is one of my favourite magazines to pick up as I love the mix of actresses they go for – and this year is no exception with Reese Witherspoon, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, and Melissa McCarthy all gracing the cover.

My favourite cover this year is a difficult choice – between Penélope Cruz, who looks stunning wearing a cashmere sweater by The Row and Chopard jewellery – I love how they’ve kept her make-up to a minimal to show off her adorable freckles, and Shailene Woodley, even though this cover looks set for summer rather than autumn wearing Calvin Klein Swimwear there is something different about the pose that makes it stand out.

Reese Witherspoon’s cover is probably the most predictable, but nevertheless she still looks stunning in a sexy Versace number. The cover I think I was most disappointed with was Melissa McCarthy styled in an oversized Marina Rinaldi coat with OTT eighties hair – I can only imagine how much hairspray they used.

Online there also seems to be another two covers featuring Marion Cotillard working the crop top trend in Dior, and British actress Naomie Harris looking absolutely gorgeous in a Calvin Klein Collection wrap halter top and skirt, very similar to the one that Rose Byrne wore to the Primetime Emmys.

Considering this is a November cover there is a lot of skin on show – especially with the main fashion tagline being ‘the perfect coat shape’. It is hard to decide on my favourite but I think it has to be Penélope Cruz as she just looks gorgeous and is really the only one, except for Melissa wearing anything autumn related.

Which cover is your favourite? Also do you think these covers seem more appropriate for spring/summer than November?

BAFTA Awards: Marion Cotillard Looked Radiant In Dior Couture

Who: Marion Cotillard

Where: At the 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards held at the Royal Opera House in London

Wearing: A strapless canary yellow Dior Couture gown, featuring a voluminous draped detailing from the waist and a sheer panel to the side from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with a Chopard diamond necklace and ring

Verdict: I have been wondering whether someone would wear this Dior Couture gown, I should have known that only Marion Cotillard could pull off this dramatic look, and I am so pleased that she did as it really brightened up the red carpet last night. Not just because of the colour, which was radiant, but because someone took a risk and it totally paid off.

I think this dress could have worked just with the billowing drape below the waist and didn’t necessarily need the sheer panel to the side, I think anyone other than Marion might have left that on the catwalk, but it does make you look twice at the gown.

Finishing up her look, Marion went for full on bling with her diamond necklace courtesy of Chopard, which I love, retro waves and an Old-Hollywood red lip – she looked breathtaking.

Do you rate Marion’s fashion-forward red carpet look?

SAG Awards: Marion Cotillard In Dior

marion-cotillard-diorWho: Marion Cotillard

Where: At the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A strapless white and navy Christian Dior gown from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with black pointy heel and a Chopard necklace

Verdict: I have to be honest I have been a little underwhelmed by Marion Cotillard’s red carpet looks of late, I get that she is a Dior ambassador but she really needs to step away and do something different.

This gown has been modified from the runway look but not in a good way, the runway look was coral instead of blue, which I prefer, and it wasn’t strapless but had a cap-sleeved top. What I just don’t get is why – the coral beauty would have looked incredible. One thing I do love though are the pockets.

Am I being a little harsh? Do you like Marion’s latest look?

Cover Loving: Marion Cotillard Is The August Cover Queen

I thought August would have been a ‘cover-off’ between Spider-Man’s Emma Stone and Catwoman Anne Hathaway, as come on both make incredible cover stars and it would be the battle of the summer blockbusters, but it seems I was blindsided by the gorgeous French beauty Marion Cotillard who appears on no less than four different covers in four different countries for August making her a very in-demand actress.

The French star has taken covers on both American and Paris Vogue, as well as Marie Claire UK, and then this week another one was unveiled from ELLE South Africa, and what surprises me is that each cover is completely different but equally beautiful.

I have been trying to decide on my favourite, it is hard, I love the up-close beauty of the Paris Vogue, I love the Ralph Lauren Collection velvet blazer that she is wearing for American Vogue, and she looks incredible on both covers for Marie Claire – minus the fact that they have chopped part of her head off, that pink jacquard peplum top is divine, and then there is that exquisite Dior dress on the ELLE South Africa cover. How do you choose when they are all so good!!!

So were you surprised with Marion’s cover pulling power? And do tell me which cover is your favourite – I am swaying towards Paris Vogue just for the beauty of Marion’s face – but it is hard when that Dior gown looks as incredible as it does for ELLE!!!

The Dark Knight Rises: Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Haute Couture

Who: Marion Cotillard

Where: At the world premiere of The Dark Knight Rises at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City

Wearing:An ivory Christian Dior Haute Couture embroidered and organza dress with a ruffled skirt, teamed with silver T-Strap Christian Louboutin heels with spike-embellishment detailing to the front and Chopard earrings

Verdict: Well it was the white-off on the red carpet last night, Marion Cotillard really is gave Anne Hathaway a run for her money, and it makes me excited for the rest of the promo tour. I like this frothy dress it just doesn’t wow me like Anne’s Prabal Gurung gown, I think it is because Marion could do so much better than this look.

What I do love though are those insane ‘Lady Max’ heels, it gives this girl dress an edge – I also can’t fault her impeccable make-up and hair – I love her side-swept up-do and glossed lips.

Who gets your vote – Anne or Marion?

Video Loving: Lady Dior – Lady Grey with Marion Cotillard

This is the latest film instalment by Christian Dior, Lady Grey, for its Lady Dior handbag line. Fronting once again  by the stunningly gorgeous Marion Cotillard, I think this is the best one yet. Filmed in London, Marion plays a sexy showgirl who attempts to seduce Sir Ian McKellen.

With all the rumours flying around that Blake Lively is to become the face of Chanel’s handbag line, I do hope that that one it is true, and also that they do some sexy promo’s like this.
