Golden Globes 2013: Nicole Kidman In Alexander McQueen

Nicole Kidman, Alexander McQueen, McQueen, Golden Globes

Who: Nicole Kidman

Where: At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California

Wearing: A black crepe Alexander McQueen gown with gold bee embroidery to the neckline and lace panels to the waist from the spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with Fred Leighton jewellery, and Manolo Blahnik heels

Verdict: This is a gorgeous gown, which at first I thought was a little to edgy for Nicole Kidman, and then I remembered how incredible she used to be on the red carpet and I was excited to see her working her amazing figure.

The mesh panel to the middle of the dress makes Nicole taller and slimmer, as if she needed any help, and teamed with the metal embellishments it has a regal vibe to it that actually suits her.

What do you think – is the McQueen gown to edgy for her?

Omega House Party: Nicole Kidman In Azzedine Alaia

Who: Nicole Kidman

Where: At the launch party of the opening of Omega House in London, as part of the brand’s celebrations for being the Official Timekeepers of the London 2012 Olympics, the venue will be open until August 12

Wearing: As an Omega brand ambassador, Nicole wore one of her ‘Ladymatic’ Omega timepieces, teamed with a navy patterned fit-and-flare Azzedine Alaia dress, chandlier earrings, and finishing off her look were Manolo Blahnik laser-cut lace up heels

Verdict: There is always something gracefully and glamourous about Nicole Kidman that I love to see, and for the Omega launch the actress really showcased her beauty and her watch with this elegant look.

First off, I love, love, love this Azzedine Alaia patterned dress, not only is the silhouette exquisite, I love the colour – navy is a great alternative to black and it works perfectly against her porcelain skin – but most of all I just adore the feminine look of the dress.

I have to be honest I am not sure about the laser cut, lace up Manolo Blahnik’s, I get that she wanted to give her feminine style an edgy finish, but I think I would have preferred strappy silver heels. But what I do love about her accessories other than that gorgeous gold watch has to be those striking statement chandelier earrings, they kind of add a touch of old-Hollywood glamour to the look.

What do you think of Nicole’s look – do you love it from head-to-toe or would you like to have seen her wear different shoes?

Golden Globes: Nicole Kidman In A Studded Versace Gown

Who: Actress Nicole Kidman

Where: At the 69th Annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A light grey figure-hugging Versace gown with metallic embellishments from the spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with Manolo Blahnik heels, a gold Roger Vivier clutch, and Fred Leighton diamond drop earrings

Verdict: Not as much as a show stopper as Angie’s but wow does Nicole look gorgeous in this studded gown, which might I add isn’t part of the H&M collection that some people are saying on Twitter, similar not the same!!! But this is one of the gowns that I actually thought one of the young up-and-coming starlets would wear as it has a edgy vibe to it, however, seeing it on Nicole it looks like it was made for her as it works her slender frame perfectly.

Also can I  point out that Nicole is 44-years-old – seriously does she not age!!!

Young Adult: Charlize Theron In Stella McCartney

Who: Charlize Theron

Where: At the Young Adult premiere in Los Angeles

Wearing: A one-shouldered black, midnight blue and white asymmetrical bone silk crepe bennet Stella McCartney dress with embroidery and mesh panel detailing, teamed with a white box clutch, both from the spring/summer 2012 collection. Charlize finishes off her look with Manolo Blahnik heels and jewels from Harry Winston.

Verdict: I have to admit I am on the fence with this look. I want to like it because it’s a little different and the midnight blue works perfectly on the red carpet, plus the wave effect on the bust and hem does work nicely. However, I am just not loving the combination of the colours, I think one block colour might have worked better, and the one shoulder just seems a little too much with the hem detailing.

One thing I have to admit though is how stunning Charlize is looking and those shoes are fierce!!

What do you think – do you like this Stella McCartney dress?
