Lulu Guinness – AW15 Preview

Lulu Guinness – AW15 Preview

For autumn/winter 2015, Lulu Guinness the original quirky accessories brand has a more sophisticated, pared-back feel to the collection. There is still signature Lulu in the collection including her lip clasps, red and black dominated colour palette, as well as glitter overload, but this season the designer has been more restraint with her designs.

It’s interesting while other brands including Anya HindmarchCharlotte Olympia and Kate Spade are riding high off quirky, fun, and statement fashion, Lulu Guinness has decided to take a step back and look more at silhouettes, fabrics – there’s everything from grainy leather to vinyl, satin and even velvet petal appliqué, as well as the introduction of prints into the collection, and the paint splatter monochrome print is a serious highlight from a fab AW15 collection.

A Pop Of Colour For A Wedding

A Pop Of Colour For A Wedding

So how many weddings do you have on your calendar for this year? At last count we had four, last year might have been all about our wedding, but this year is most certainly all about celebrating our friend’s big days and I can’t wait.

I shot this wedding outfit a few weeks ago, a gorgeous winter wedding for my sister-in-law, in a Hogwarts-like school. The venue was so spectacular that I couldn’t resist doing my own mini photoshoot while the professional photographer was capturing the wedding party. It was a fun day and I loved that no-one really got what a fashion blogger was all about – to which I happily explained that we were just fashion crazed posers!!!Winter-wedding-guest-16

Floaty Skirt Waiting For Spring

Floaty Skirt Waiting For Spring

The clocks go forward at the weekend, yep we lose an hours sleep, which at the moment I could so use, but it gives me hope that the weather is going to finally cheer up and be spring-like, rather than this constant wintery weather we seem to be having here in Blighty. I know we don’t get heatwaves that often, but seeing the sun shining would be nice, we just seem to be getting this overcast, windy weather that isn’t pretty or pleasant to be outside.

I wanted to wear this look, without the tights, with cute strappy heels, and with a thin top, sadly it wasn’t to be so I made my floaty Reiss midi skirt winter ready with some new trusty ankle boots, I know I don’t need any more but these were a sale steal from Faith, who I didn’t realise still existed, and I really don’t think you can have too many ankle boots, especially in black.

My Style: A Flirty Asos Midi Skirt

My Style: A Flirty Asos Midi Skirt

Lately I have been trying to embrace the midi skirt, being more ladylike, and trying, and mostly failing to sometimes leave the jeans in my wardrobe for a little rest, and I thought afternoon tea at the Laura Ashley Elstree Hotel was the perfect occasion to show of this incredible cobalt blue Asos skirt in woven crêpe.

I bought this beauty for fashion week and my regularly size was too big, which basically made me jump for joy, so it feels good showing off this gorgeous skirt in a smaller size, and actually thinking I look slim for a change. I think this has a lot to do with the skirt, it is super flattering, beautifully cut, and the woven crêpe material really does make it look and feel more expensive than its £30 price tag. It is a steal of a price and this skirt will be an autumn/winter hero for me as I think it will work just as well with tights and a chunkier knit.
