Hot Collaboration: Marc by Marc Jacobs x Liberty London

I do love a designer collaboration, especially when it launches days before my birthday, and I am in love with Liberty London’s latest trip into its archive for this floral accessories line with Marc by Marc Jacobs.

The iconic London department store has already teamed up with Nike and Levis this year but the exclusive  ‘Pretty Nylon’ collection with Marc by Marc Jacobs has to be my favourite.

The New York label has given its tote, mini make-up bag, tablet case, backpack and cosmetics case a floral make-over with two of Liberty’s classic ditsy floral prints – the Emma & Georgina, a pink with green floral print, and the Wiltshire, which features a berry and leaf design in purple and cerise tones.

Both prints are cute, all pieces are on my birthday wishlist, and all are available in store and online now.

I think the Emma & Georgina printed tote has to be favourite.

Christmas: Liberty London Festive Windows

You might have already guest I love Christmas, not only the presents, which are pretty amazing, but I completely adore all the glitz and sparkle, especially all the festive displays. I know, it is very commercial, but come what’s not to love when you see windows displays like these at Liberty London.

Themed on the 12 days of Christmas, Liberty really has out done itself this year with a very high-fashion festive display. Have you ever seen such gorgeous maids-a-milking!!!!

How cute is this owl? I totally want it!!

Bear Icon: Pudsey Designer Collection

I love a charitable cause and Children’s in Need has gone all fashionable on us and teamed up with some fab designer’s to rework their iconic bear that is known as Pudsey. Designers including Giles Deacon, Henry Holland, Jonathan Saunders, Erdem, PPQ, Mulberry and even one of my fav department stores, Liberty London has done one, and all complete with a cute eye patch.

All the beauties in the Designer Pudsey Collection are up for auction, well I have been a little slow on the up-take so most have already been snapped up, but the Louis Vuitton – complete with case, Topshop, Pringle of Scotland, and Jonathan Saunders haven’t finished yet. If you are still looking to snap up a piece of fashion history I would go for Saunder’s funky bear as it is currently only £255, compared to the Vuitton, which is already at over £16k!!!

I still have a Pudsey bear from way-back-when, but come on I would love to have swap it for the ‘silver leather dream machine’ created by Giles inspired by his spring/summer 2012.

The best bit about this project was that I was able to see the bears up close in Liberty’s and even though I couldn’t afford to bid I got postcards of them all to put up in my new room. Well every little helps!!!

In Pictures: FNO 2011 In London

I am not sure why I didn’t partake in Fashion’s Night Out last year, but wow was it my loss!!! This year I tagged along with blogger friends Alex Loves, Carina 100 and Kate from The Fabric of my Life, and we had a very ambitious schedule, here are the highlights of our FNO adventure.

First Stop – Seven Dials

It was always going to be a hard decision where to start when there is so much going on, but we decided on Seven Dials, and it was nice to see the lovely Kirsty from Three Pipe, who gave us all the most adorable goodie bag and guide to goings-on for the area. There was lots going on and we checked out Tatty Devine, lots of owl jewellery that I am in love with, and then popped across the street to celebrate Poste Mistress’ 10th birthday.

Loved the tea-cup cocktails and cupcakes.

They also did a scratch card competition to win a free pair of shoes, sadly I didn’t win and I would have loved picking a pair out as they have an amazing selection.

Liberty London – flower power

The sweetest treat of the night had to be this flower corsage from the Wild at Heart florists in Liberty’s, I loved mine and tied it to my bag when it started to droop. It is now looking a little sad on my desk this morning.

The London department store had the right idea getting the cocktails flowing early with the Mahiki Coconut bar. The lovely Alex and Kate enjoyed their pineapple surprise, while we all got into the Hawaiian spirit.

Reiss – best window

On our way to Tommy Hilfiger we passed by Reiss and I was mesmerised by their quirky window display filled with gold balloons and just a peek of clothing. More to celebrate their 40th birthday, but hey it looks good.

Tommy Hilfiger – the family portrait

One of the most fun events of the night had to be our dress-up fun in Tommy Hilfiger and then being snapped by the amazing Jackie Dixon from ShowMeYourWardrobe.com. I haven’t seen the final snap, I have refreshed their Facebook page a number of times this morning, but I can’t wait to see how well our sporty shot came off, I just love Alex the jock!!

Thomas Lyte – fashion flattery

My favourite bit of the night was thanks to the lovely girlies at Thomas Lyte as I got the opportunity to have a fashion illustration done of myself. The uber-talented Sasha Helim sketched such a beauty of me, super flattering and very cute and I am getting it framed at the weekend I love it that much. What do you think?

We also got to enjoy the most delicious mini cupcakes, which also constituted as my dinner!!!

DKNY – where the party was at!!!

Bond Street was definitely where the party was at for Fashion’s Night Out, and in a way I am glad it was our last stop of the night to be honest as I don’t think I would have stuck out the whole night if I had to deal with these crowds. Of course we couldn’t go to Bond Street and not stop in on our Twitter pal @DKNY, who was obviously in New York getting reading for the NYFW shows, but she was their in the London store via a huge Twitter screen, which made me very happy when my tweet was RTed.

I kind of fell in love with the balloons and was still pouting on the way home that I couldn’t have one!!

Can someone please buy me one of these cool signs? I am not fussy Cocktail or I ♥ NY, or both if you are feeling very generous!!!

From DKNY we were going to hit Alexander McQueen to play the key game, but was greeted by this huge queue, so we decided against it and instead just took in the party atmosphere of the street.

The window at Alexander McQueen was enough of a reason to stop by, simply gorgeous.

Tod’s went for a row of red Fiat’s outside their shop to ferry guests to the after party.

Barbie may have been in NY doing her bus-tour FNO but I found two Ken’s in the window of Daks London, quite surreal seeing live models, who might I add didn’t seem that pleased at me taking their piccie.

Dolce & Gabbana was closed when we got there but check out the window – I spy Beyonce’s dress from the cover of American InStyle.

Dior taking on DKNY in the battle of the taxis black cab vs yellow cab, love the addition of the double yellow line.

One of the most interesting sights was this Bangle Bowling outside Hermes, I have to admit I don’t have a clue what it was, looks like a horse box to me and an inside shot didn’t help me either. Did anyone have a go?

Street Style – snap of the night

I saw a lot of very interesting outfits, way too many leather shorts, super high heels, and even a model rushing through the crowd in a couture gown, but my favourite and possibly weirdest shot has to be this man walking through Seven Dials wearing a metal frame hat. As soon as I saw it I just had to take a snap. Strange or what??

Sad I didn’t get to

There was no Rupert Sanderson roller disco for me, no Stella McCartney badges, and no Net-a-Porter visit. But seriously there was so much to do, so many people around, I can’t believe how much we actually did – such an amazing night.

Did you do FNO? Do let me know what your best moment of the night was – especially if you were somewhere other than London.

AW11 Press Day: Liberty London – In Pictures

AW11 Press Day: Simeon Farrar At Liberty London

I am avid fan of Liberty London, as department stores goes they serious are ahead of the game in every area in my opinion, granted they may not be the biggest, but have some great designers, exclusive offerings and excellent visual outlook to all that they offer.

I have taken many pictures of the stores windows, I am addicted to the Paper Room, and I love the gorgeous scarves *best in London*, and now I have added the amazing and talented wares of London-based designer Simeon Farrar to the many reasons to swing by and shop!

I have to admit I have admired the prints of Simeon Farrar for a while, I love that all his garments are hand printed or dyed, and so it means each piece is a one-off, which I truly love in designer items, as if you are going to spend more than average it has to be special.

Well for autumn/winter 2011, I have fallen head-over-heels for the cute teddy bear print, this canvas bag with leather straps has to be mine, and I can’t have the bag without this dusky pink scarf as that wouldn’t be right!!!

I also loved this robot print with a heart *below* – so cute. I like fun and quirky and Simeon Farrar ticks all the boxes for me, it doesn’t cost the earth, the bags are around £80 and the scarves are from £75, for one-of-a-kind that is a pretty good investment.

If you can’t wait for AW11, well why not check out what Liberty London has to offer from Simeon Farrar – my favourite pick has to be the Kate Mouse Tote Bag, £80, an exclusive piece for Liberty.

In Pictures: Striking Window Displays of London

Flower power @ Stella

There is nothing better than rounding off a night out with friends than checking out the gorgeous window displays on the way back to the tube. Well on Thursday night I did just that with my friend Gen.

First stop had to be Stella McCartney, those five ladies are completely striking with their flower power heads. I admit picture quality isn’t amazing, I only had my Blackberry with me, and it wasn’t helped by the amount of traffic – it seriously never lets up in this town!

Miu Miu goes for the heart!

So whereas Stella takes your head, Miu Miu goes straight for the heart with this adorable love heart display. Is it just me or do they look like a giant pair of earrings that Pat Butcher would wear?

Measurements please...Moschino style

From the heart to your leg measurement, Moschino gives us a taste of their exquisite tailoring with their super-sized tape measurer. I have to admit I thought it was a big sellotape dispenser but it has measurements on the tape.

Vintage TV's at the Men's Vivienne Westwood

So done with all that shopping, there is nothing better than settling outside the men’s Vivienne Westwood store and catching up on a bit of TV. I absolutely adore all these retro TVs – very cool, like the Grand Dame herself.

Liberty London is just a LOVE machine

I finish my tour of London’s windows with the amazing LOVE magazine display at Liberty London. The window stats that ‘This is Hardcore’ and it most certainly is. I love the fact that they’ve pasted the LOVE posters directly onto the outside of the windows and pavement – it really looks like it is coming at you.

It is a great contrast to the colourful displays celebrating London Fashion Week which starts this Friday. Featuring Peter Pilotto and Christopher Kane (both pictured below), as well as Jonathan Saunders, and Michael Van Der Ham. Check out Liberty’s Facebook page for more pictures *which are defiantly better than mine*.
