Cannes 2014: Lara Stone Channels Barbie In Calvin Klein Collection

Who: Model Lara Stone

Where: At “The Search” premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France

Wearing: A custom fuchsia cross-strap silk crepe Calvin Klein Collection gown, teamed with a diamond bracelet and her signature tousled waves

Verdict: Now that is how channel Barbie!!! I am a huge fan of hot pink on the red carpet, not just because I am a huge Barbie fan, OK a lot because of that, but I think a lot of it is to do with the clash of colours. When I see hot pink at Cannes it used to make me think of Diane Kruger in that incredible Jason Wu gown, but I think that honour will definitely have to be Lara Stone’s after seeing her in this gorgeous Calvin Klein Collection gown.

I am a huge fan of designer Francisco Costa’s Calvin Klein Collection gowns, he really knows how to make minimal a statement with the use of colour and sporty detailing, I just love the cross-strap at the neckline as well as the colour of this dress. You can really tell that this gown was made for the L’Oreal ambassador as it hugs her body beautifully.

It is for looks like this that I am always so pleased that Cannes always attracts all the top models to the red carpet.

It isn’t just her outfit that is breathtaking the model’s hair and make-up has never looked so good before, her skin looks absolutely flawless – I really have to try out L’Oreal Paris’ Nude Magique Blur Cream. For a full look at the products L’Oreal Paris used to create Lara’s look see below.

Cover Loving: Kate, Lara and Daria All Wear The Same Dress For New Look Vogue Paris

I had been wondering how long it would take Emmanuelle Alt to place her own stamp on Vogue Paris it has been a staggering 18-months since she succeeded Carine Roitfeld as editor in chief and it seems she wanted to wait for a September issue to showcase a new fresh vibe for one of my favourite magazines.

The new cleaner, airier layout, with remodelled typography has taken its inspiration from Vogue Paris’ look in the Sixties and Seventies, I have a number of vintage Vogue Paris magazines from then and I am excited to see it in print.

To launch the new look Vogue Paris the magazine has shot three collectors’ covers, featuring three supermodels Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone, all snapped by Mert & Marcus, all wearing the same Dolce & Gabbana black dress, and all sporting the same slicked back hair and red lippy – yep identical covers. So basically it is a fashion face-off between Kate, Daria and Lara to see who can wear the dress best!!!

Vogue Paris September issue hits newsstands on August 23 – I think I will be reaching for Lara’s cover – what about you?

My New Scent: DKNY Golden Delicious

I am a bit of a fragrance junkie, I love perfume bottles and the excitement I get when I find a new one that not only do I like the look of but love the scent. My latest obsession, thanks to the wonderful PR team at The Perfume Shop, is DKNY’s latest fragrance Golden Delicious.

I have always loved the apple bottles, they are quirky and fun, and if you have a whole set I bet they look glorious together. There really is something for everyone, whether it is the classic green Be Delicious for Women, or the feminine pink of Fresh Blossom, and one of my favourites bottles has to be the seduction purple of Delicious Night.

Now that I have Golden Delicious, with its refreshing top notes of orange flower water and mirabelle plum, its zesty scent has become the fragrance of my summer. If I wasn’t already in love with this gold beauty I certainly would have been as soon as I saw this gorgeous campaign fronted by Lara Stone, she is absolutely stunning in this shot.

Golden Delicious goes on sale August 22, and comes in 30ml (£32), 50ml (£46) and 100ml (£64).

Cover Loving: Lara Stone As Never Before Seen

I have featured a number of Lara Stone covers, she really does seem to be an editorial dream model. For most she goes for bold, in Gucci for Paris Vogue, and another cover for the French title showing off her bosoms, but for the first time Lara has been given a minimalist vibe for Vogue Russia’s July 2011 cover.

Shot by Mark Seliger, I just love how honest the portrait shot is, as well as the fact that I don’t think I have seen a shot of her like this before, she has been stripped back and looks fabulous. Wearing Calvin Klein, the styling by Camilla Nickerson is perfection, as to make this cover gorgeous the clothes did need to take a back seat. I have to admit I love Lara Stone, but even I was surprised she could deliver such emotion, I adore her icy glare on this cover.

I know some people will say that it isn’t a cover shot, but that is possible why it works for me, I am glad that Vogue Russia went for something different. I also love the shots for the accompanying editorial, if like me you pick up a lot of international mags I totally recommend this one!!
