Beauty: Betty Boop “Just say it with the eyes”

Oooh my favourite animated screen siren, after Jessica Rabbit, Betty Boop is starring in Lancome’s latest short film with model Daria Werbowy, and she is teaching the Polish beauty a thing or two about acting and apparently it is all in the eyes.

I have to be honest I always wanted Jessica Rabbit’s curvaceous figure, but come on I can’t be the only one who wanted Betty Boop’s incredible eyelashes, so really she is the perfect star for Lancome’s new mascara, Hypnose Star.

This is a cute film directed by Joann Sfar, I love that you see a different side of model Daria, I am not going to lie acting isn’t her strongest attribute, but she really is charming alongside Betty Boop, who just looks stunning in her trademark little black dress look with her garter on show, not looking bad for an 82 year-old!!!!

Do you reckon using Lancome’s Hypnose Star I can finally achieve my dreams of Betty Boop lashes? I sure hope so, check out the film below and let me know what you think.

Beauty: Emma Watson Ignites Youth Into Lancome Make-Up

Let’s be honest when you think of Lancôme beauty do you think youthful? I will be surprised if many people said yes, because even though Lancôme offers exquisite quality it does seem to be aimed more at a mature marketplace. Maybe I am wrong, but this is how I feel about the brand, well that was until I saw this campaign starring Emma Watson.

I was a little surprised when it was announced that Emma was to be an ambassador for Lancôme because previously they had gone for the likes of Kate Winslet and Julia Roberts. But I can totally see what they’ve done here and I like it, for me this campaign shot by Mario Testino feels like a Rimmel London advert with its youthful glow – and it is all to increase the popularity of lipsticks over lip gloss among a younger audience.

I am not normally bothered by beauty advertising campaigns, maybe it because I am useless when it comes to make-up, but I love that  Emma has a romantic-yet-sophisticated look in this shot, while still working the striking bright red shades on her lips and nails.

So does Emma make you want to work lipstick?

Cover Loving: Dakota Fanning For ELLE UK

It isn’t often that I am gutted I received the subscribers cover of ELLE UK, but for the February issue the Dakota Fanning newsstand cover is just stunning. I am a big fan of the Fanning sisters, I am still hoping that they will become the new Olsens, minus the twin status of course, and I thought Elle looked amazing on the cover of Teen Vogue – but Dakota has stepped it up.

It is easy to forget that Dakota is only 17-years-old, and surprisingly this is her first major solo glossy cover, and even though I love the sultry close-up on the subscribers cover and the gorgeous Louis Vuitton broderie anglaise collar peeking through – for me the baby blue Prada car-print top paired with the Prada leather skirt is just so cute-yet-edgy.

I also think a quick mention is needed for her striking make-up, fresh and grown-up, while still having a youthful feel about it, which is hard to achieve. How gorgeous is that shade of lippy – the divine L’Absolu Rouge in Rouge Odysee from Lancome. But what made me smile was the fact that the nail varnish used only costs £3.99, and that is because it is Rimmel London’s Hot Gossip shade – I so have to buy that!! The lips I think are hard to pull off, but nails – anyone can rock red nails.

Which is your favourite cover, the newsstand edition or the subscribers copy?

Lancome Dinner: Emma Watson Stunning In Elie Saab

Who: Harry Potter starlet Emma Watson

Where: At a Lancôme promotional event in Hong Kong

Wearing: A midnight blue, knee-length tulle Elie Saab dress, embroidered with pearls and crystals, from the Haute Couture autumn/winter 2011 collection; teamed with silver platform sandals

Verdict: I love this girlie-yet-fierce dress, it has a ballerina vibe about it with the tulle skirt but with a mysterious edge with the midnight blue and the exquisite embroidery to the corset. I also love the sweet-heart neckline and flower detailing to waist – this curvier look from Emma is refreshing, she looks incredible. I am so pleased that she didn’t over-do this gorgeous dress with her jewellery, wearing just a simple silver necklace.

As she is a Lancôme ambassador it was only right to wear such a standout lipshade, which looks fabulous on her and works so well with the dress and her hair being slicked back.

Simply stunning from head-to-toe.

What do you think? Like this flirty dress on Emma?
