Vanity Fair Dinner: Kristin Davis Opts For The High-Street

Who: Kristin Davis

Where: At the Vanity Fair and Ermenegildo Zegna Dinner in Los Angeles

Wearing: A H&M organic cotton apple green embroidered dress from its up-coming spring 2012 Conscious Collection, teamed with Jimmy Choo heels and a Rachel Roy OrphanAid ‘Ghana’ clutch

Verdict: It seems that H&M is the celebrity hotspot for red carpet looks at the moment, first Michelle Williams works an eco-look to the BAFTAs and then last week a host of celebs worked Marni for H&M at the collections launch party including Milla Jovovich, Drew Barrymore, and Winona Ryder. The latest celebrity to hit the high-street is Sex and the City star Kristin Davis who looks gorgeous in this apple green dress, which is reportedly going to sell for less than $70 – no UK price as yet, crazy really considering all that gorgeous embroidery on the front.

As well as the dress being affordable, her multi-coloured clutch is also only $49, plus it is for a good cause as proceeds from the sale of benefit OrphanAid, which helps children grow up in safe and permanent family settings with appropriate care and protection.

What do you think – do you like Kristin’s eco-friendly, affordable, doing her bit for charity look?

LA Loving: Vivienne Westwood Hosts Glamorous Store Opening

I don’t know why but I already thought that Vivienne Westwood had stores in America, apparently not, so this week the Dame herself opened her first LA flagship store and showroom with a glamorous, starstudded evening. Which of course means gorgeous celebrities draped in the amazing wares of Vivienne Westwood.

Above with Vivienne Westwood is the face of her Palladium jewellery line Christina Hendricks; wearing a Vivienne Westwood couture pleated corset in black silk cotton, teamed with skinny trouser and fierce red lippy. But this pic is all about Viv herself, this knockout white floor-skimming gown with intricate cut-out detailing is exquisite.

Easily my best dressed of the night had to be the ever-glamorous Dita Von Teese, after see her this week in CSI as a murderer, it was nice to see her strutting her stuff on the red carpet. I love this black taffeta gown that she is wearing from the spring/summer 2011 Vivienne Westwood Gold label collection, it looks amazing teamed with a striking black fascinator and fish net gloves, oh and course her signature red lippy.

Who: Zoe Saldana

Wearing: A silver draped Vivienne Westwood Gold Label dress, paired with Vivienne Westwood red floral heels

Verdict: Wow, this dress really does show off her model proportions to the max, I love the contrast of the silver dress with the red floral heels. This look from head-to-toe is sexy!!!

Who: Actress Anna Kendrick

Wearing: A gold print dress from the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label autumn/winter 2011 collection, teamed with black round toe Miu Miu heels

Verdict: The thing I love about Vivienne Westwood’s designs has to be the exquiste sihouettes, and this dress looks amazing on Anna. I am completely drawn to the draping detailing on the neckline and the gorgeous autumn print

Who: Malin Akerman

Wearing: A black printed dress from the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania pre-fall 2011 collection, teamed with silver peep-toe heels and an oversized black clutch

Verdict: This dress is sexy and so perfect for Malin. I really do like her presence on the red carpet, she has an attitude that I think a lot of actress are lacking, as always gorgeous and stunning.

Who: Kristin Davis

Wearing: A blue taffeta corset dress from the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label autumn/winter 2011 collection, paired with black patent peep-toe platforms and a black clutch

Verdict: Nice to see someone going for a spot of colour. I love this corseted dress on Kristin, it nips in at her waist and adds drama with the draping, great choice.

Who: Heidi Klum

Wearing: A black sequinned dress from the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label autumn/winter 2011 collection

Verdict: I love that it sparkles, it looks amazing on her, but it just doesn’t wow me like I think it should.

Sadly, to have a best dressed there has to be a worst dressed of the night, and that for me has to be Mischa Barton in this silver dress from the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania pre-fall 2011 collection. Out of all the celebs and dresses that were on offer, this was by far the worst, I just feel that everything from the colour to the draping, to her hair and the ribbon belt, nothing I am afraid works for me.

SATC2: SJP Honours Friend In McQueen

Who: Sarah Jessica Parker

Where: At the London premiere of Sex and the City 2

Wearing: A black bustier/tulle Alexander McQueen frock with McQueen lace heels and a fabulous Philip Treacy hat

Verdict: Well I like how I predicted right that she would opt for McQueen while in London, after Lee McQueen’s death earlier this year SJP gave such a moving tribute about her friend, that this is the biggest honour she could give him. I also love the fact that she went for the full theatrics that McQueen would have loved with the Philip Treacy hat – which completes this amazing dress.

I know some people will hate this hat – but for me this pure SJP glamour and miles better than the Valentino she wore to the NY premiere earlier this week.

The rest of the girlies didn’t look too bad either – definitely feel that the fashion stakes were higher in London. Both Kim and Kristin went for vintage – I absolutely love Kim’s look – she really is working a old-Hollywood vibe which I love.

So who did you think was the best dressed?

SATC2: The Girls Take On New York

Who: Carrie aka Sarah Jessica Parker

Where: The world premiere of ‘Sex And The City 2’ held at Radio City Music Hall in New York Wearing: Bright or even slightly neon yellow one-shouldered Valentino Couture gown from the S/S10 collection

Verdict: Everyone thought she was going to go for Halston or even McQueen *I feel she’ll do this for the London premiere on Thursday* – but this Valentino is gorgeous and I love the striking colour.

Who: Charlotte aka Kristin Davis

Wearing: Maybe neon was the discussed colour scheme, as she wore a strapless neon pink silk chiffon vintage Jean Desses gown

Verdict: Very Barbie – so instantly love – but just not sure about this dress
