MTV VMAs: Katy Perry In Vintage Elie Saab

Who: Katy Perry

Where: At the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Wearing: A vintage Elie Saab Haute Couture gown from the autumn/winter 2004 collection; the black gown featured sequinned floral embroidery in teal and fuchsia, and the black leather bodice was finished off with a bow accent

Verdict: I love, love, love Elie Saab and this is why, this dress is from the 2004 collection but totally fits the current romantic Gothic trend that is everywhere for autumn/winter, and Katy Perry looks incredible in it.

Last year, Katy was playful in a geisha style Atelier Versace mini dress, but this year she really did bring the glamour and I love this couture gown on her. Everything from the exquisite dress to her dark wavy locks and her flawless make-up makes this one of the best red carpets I have seen from Katy Perry.

I also love that even with her glamorous look Katy knows how to show off her quirky personality, just check out her very cool floral manicure, which featured sparkling crosses – now that is nail art!!!

Cover Loving: Katy Perry Goes Orange For L’Officiel Paris

Wow, wow, wow. I say that not only because the cover is incredible, but I always love it when a magazine surprises me and makes me look twice, and I have to give it to L’Officiel Paris as they really made me look twice to see Katy Perry on their September issue.

This is Katy Perry’s second September cover, the popstar is also gracing ELLE US, however the two covers couldn’t be more different, her black and purple hair is out and instead L’Officiel Paris has turned her hair ginger. At first, second, and even third glance I have to be honest if it didn’t say it so on the cover I would never have believed this was Katy Perry. This look, kind of an ode to Grace Coddington, is so far away from what you expect from Katy, and that is why it so works.

Shot by Cuneyt Akeroglu, I adore the soft styling of Katy, the apricot and black Louis Vuitton dress from the pre-fall 2012 collection is divine with her ginger locks and rosy make-up, and the sneak peek of the inside editorial is just as strong, Katy looks incredible in this Gucci look and that mask is insane. I can’t wait to see more!!!

I am sure that this cover is going to split opinions, for me ginger has never been so hot, but what do you think of Katy’s latest cover?

Part of Me: Katy Perry In Dolce & Gabbana

Who: Katy Perry

Where: At the Rio De Janeiro premiere of her 3D docu-movie ‘Katy Perry: Part Of Me’

Wearing: A silver metallic long-sleeve floral lace Dolce & Gabbana gown with a flowing train, which was finished with a crystal embellished belt

Verdict: Wow, Katy Perry really surprised me in this gorgeous dress, this is high glamour at its very best and this gown shows off her incredible figure perfectly.

The dress itself is truly exquisite - everything from the metallic silver shade to the flowing train and the floral lace design – it is striking. What I am not sure about though is that superhero-style belt, I am not sure this delicate glamorous gown needed it.

I do love it when Katy goes for glamour, granted sometimes it doesn’t work, but on this occasion it really did.

Miu Miu Front Row: Katy Perry Head-to-Toe In Prada

Who: Katy Perry

Where: At the Miu Miu autumn/winter 2012 catwalk show in Paris

Wearing: Head-to-toe Prada in a giada raso coat, worn over a flames-motif printed pink chiffon pleated dress, and paired with the Saffiano lux Pyramide bag with studs and patent leather flame sandals

Verdict: I love everything about Katy Perry’s look from the neck down, seriously her choice of quirky accessories is amazing – I am in love with that studded bag as well as the incredible flame heels. But what I am not loving is her hair, I get it so she is wearing blue so she has to pair her hair, but come on you seriously don’t!!!

I am glad that Katy has immersed herself in Paris Fashion Week and seems to be getting over her split from Russell Brand but I would also love to see a new hair-do.

Miu Miu had one of the most stylish front rows at Paris Fashion Week for me including Harry Potter’s Bonnie Wright, singer Florrie Arnold, and Mia Wasikowska, as well as Kate Mara, Corrine Bailey Rae, and Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery, but my favourite looks are these from Bonnie, Florrie and Mia all in Miu Miu looks.

Bonnie is stunning in this black cady sleeveless top and alluminio grey plissé lace skirt from the Miu Miu spring/summer 2012 collection, but what caught my eye on her look had to be the Miu Miu yellow silk jewel bag – pops nicely against the lace skirt.

Florrie, who I have to admit I don’t know that much about really impressed me in these Miu Miu pink daisy print cady pants, they look good with the white caplet and cotton shirt. But again her accessories floored me with gorgeous pink madras bag – HOT!!!

Last but not least is Miu Miu’s current face Mia Wasikowska in a reserved but chic look wearing Miu Miu autumn/winter 2012 in a bi-colour organzino dress with orchidea pink top and black cady armuré flared skirt. The only thing I would change from this demure look would have been the nude patent leather pumps, I just think a vibrant pink or clashing colour would have worked perfectly.

Grammys 2012: My Best Dressed – Rihanna and Katy

After being utterly bored by the BAFTA red carpet I wasn’t really in the mood to stay up and watch the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, I did however catch-up this morning and I have to be honest there were a lot of hits and twice as many misses – but this is kind of what I expected from the Grammys.

For me the best dressed has to go to either Rihanna’s show stopping black silk cady custom Giorgio Armani gown or Katy Perry’s sky blue Elie Saab gown from the spring/summer haute couture 2012 collection. If it came down to just the dresses I think Katy would win, but her Smurfette hair is really putting me off, but then again I am not that thrilled by Rihanna’s roots either.

What I love about Rihanna’s look, which she co-designed with Armani is that it fitted her body perfectly, everything about this dress is sexy from the plunging neckline to the thigh-high split, to the dramatic open back and the mermaid silhouette into an elegant train – taking inspiration from Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface obviously works for RiRi as this is one great red carpet look.

On the other hand there is Katy Perry looking elegant in this exquisite fully-embroidered backless floral Elie Saab creation. Everything is divine from the colour to the simple ribbon belt, to the gorgeous floral appliqués, and I do love it when Katy does princess rather than quirky. If only her hair was elegant this would have be a clear winner for me.

A special mention has to go to both Fergie in this vibrant orange lace Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown from the spring/summer 2012 collection, hot off the Paris catwalk and Gwyneth Paltrow in a black cut-out Stella McCartney dress with gold belt from Stella’s Evening Collection for both looking absolutely incredible - seriously crazy hot bodies.

I know everyone isn’t going to love Fergie’s bold catwalk-to-red carpet look complete with black bra and big pants but I love that she totally went for it – and come on you all have to admit she is totally working this dress.

LACMA Gala: Katy Perry Works New Shorter Hairdo

Who: Katy Perry and hubbie Russell Brand

Where: At the 3rd Annual “Change Begins Within” Benefit Celebration held at LACMA in Los Angeles

Wearing:A white studded Versace dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection, which fell just below-the-knee, teamed with gold heels, a Stella & Dot bracelet, and a new lighter and shorter hairdo

Verdict: Wow, what a difference a new hairstyle can make, I don’t think I have seen Katy looking as fresh as this for a while. Going shorter and lighter was a good move as it looks stunning. Katy is known for her chameleon-like approach to her hair seen recently with pink, earlier on in the year it was blue in honour of her Smurfs movie and last year she was working jet-black. I think this new blonde-pink ombre shade is a good look on her.

Now, back to that dress, hot, hot, hot!!!! I love how it works sophistication with the shift silhouette and longer length falling just below-the-knee, and the sexy and edgy vibe with the studded detailing. This is one gorgeous Versace dress.

Buy Her Style: I love that Katy works designer with affordable, and this Stella & Dot renegade gold spike and diamond cluster bracelet really stood out for me, more so when I realised it was only $59.

Charity Barbie: I Need Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj Dolls!!!

The annual One-of-a-Kind Barbie auction for Divine Design, Project Angel Food’s fundraising event has now gone life and it is bigger and better than ever. Last year I was lusting over the divine Janet Jackson doll and this year I wish I had lots of money to bid on the fabulous Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj Barbie dolls, both have an estimated value of $15,000. Well I can dream!!!!

Both auctions run until December 19, but be ready to spend a lot as Katy’s doll-size replica inspired by her California Gurls video, is already up to $1,750. But come on how amazing is it. I love it just for the gorgeous couture cupcake skirt, which features 70 hand-painted mini cakes, a candy-coloured glitter-kissed bodice and fishnet stockings dotted with shimmering Swarovski crystals. Seriously good enough to eat!!!

The Katy Perry doll also comes with her own too-sweet-to-eat waffle-cone stage complete with swirly pops, ice cream mountains and cotton candy clouds. However, no sign of Snoop Dogg!!!!

The Nicki Minaj Barbie doll pays homage to her Pink Friday album cover, which she kind of looks like a Barbie doll – minus the arms!!! Well now the doll-loving rapper has been made into a 11 ½” fashion doll sporting a complete replica of the gorgeous tulle gown and pink booties that she worn on the cover.

Of course, this couldn’t be Minajesty without her Barbie bling necklace and cotton-candy pink hair. Everything about her style has been recreated by doll-tastic designer Stephen Sumner, from her hand-rooted eye lashes to the tattoo on Nicki’s left arm, he even hand-placed each crystal accent on her jewellery.

“It’s just a one of a kind, limited edition for charity, and so I never thought Mattel would even pay attention to me,” Minaj said on the red carpet at Billboard’s Women in Music event in NYC yesterday. “For me this is a very major moment, because it just shows that you can come from nothing and still be a force in the main world, a business woman, and hopefully a mogul one day.”

If you want Nicki though dig deep for charity as it is already up to $1,355!!!

If you can afford to bid, do, as all the money goes to the amazing Project Angel Food charity, which provides meals for men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Maybe I need to start saving now for next year’s auction!!!
